Retro Houseboat Transformed Into Amazing New Space - FLOATING TINY HOUSE TOUR
In this video, we’re checking out an awesome 1-bedroom houseboat that’s an absolute dream for life on the water! When the owner found it, this boat from the ‘80s was in pretty rough shape. He bought it as is for $27k CAD and with some help, he spent months gutting it and rebuilding it into a beautiful space with lots of character and functionality.
This boat is called N’eau Rush, and it’s 42' long and 12' wide with three great outdoor decks, and 240 square feet of cozy indoor living space.
David gives us a full tour of his boat, plus he shares some of the renovation process he went through, how much he paid for the boat and the renovation, and some of the advantages and challenges that come along with houseboats.
After rebuilding this old boat, he decided that he wanted to try and design a new one from scratch. To follow his journey into houseboat manufacturing, check out Bauhaus Habitat and their first model, Walter:

She’s an absolute beauty ❤️💯👍🙏
For sure, thanks for watching :)
I would enjoy traveling the coast lines in this house boat :-)
Exactly the kind of boat our family rented in the late 60s-early 70s in America. Those were the best weeks of our lives. Thank you for the memories.
LOVE the boat! The Franglais brings me back to my Montreal roots! 🤩
Same here !
He did such a great job on restoring the boat. My husband and I really like what he accomplished. Matt and Danielle we hope you are not affected by all the fires in Canada. Stay safe and keeping you and everyone in Canada in our thoughts.❤❤
Thanks Cathy! Indeed they did a great job transforming it into this new living space but it does look like it was a ton of work! It has been pretty unpleasant here in Canada with the forest fire smoke but things seem to be getting a bit better now. We've definitely never seen this level of smoke for so long :( Anyway, hoping for a better second half of the summer for everyone, all the best to you and your husband :)
@@ExploringAlternatives Thank you and we are so glad that you two are OK.
Just a beautiful renovation! Absolutely stunning and so livable ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Best vacation of my childhood (80s) was with four families sharing two houseboats on Lake Shasta (CA, US). Swam, skiied, played games, read, and listened to Beach Boys non-stop. I didn't realize they weren't being manufactured anymore, so that's cool that he's bringing them back to life. Hope it takes off!
I love all the natural light and wood. Feels so open.
I could live in that full time. It's wonderfully cozy, a really good balance of affordability with enough creature comforts that keeps it from being a vacation-only option.
Me too…but I’d take that bunk off that’s over the bed.
@@revdupartist9386 I had the same thought. I'm seeing this as living solo, I think a family living on this full-time might be a big ask, but one person (and their four cats) this is just right. I like the fact that with the dishwasher, a small sink isn't a big deal.
First comment. Phenomenal floating home, love the wood tones! Thanks for doing a house boat tour exploring alternatives!
Glad you liked the tour! Thanks for your comment :)
You did a beautiful job on your houseboat.
Wow, wow, wow absolutely love it, it's beautiful ❤️❤️
I love boat houses ❤
We love them too! They definitely come with some challenges but they're pretty cool :)
I’ve always wanted a houseboat One just like this one. I saw it in a movie starring Cary Grant & Sophia Lauren it’s called houseboat.
Use a water pump and pull water from bottom of lake into heat exchanger then discharge it off the side. Great cooling effects
That's an awesome boat. The rebuild is excellent. It's nicer than a lot of modern houseboats.
Bien fait. J’adore ❤
Merci :)
Awesome finish.
superbe rénovation, doublée du plaisir d'entendre le doux français de nos cousins canadiens !
Merci cousin français ;)
Bit chin. Thanks for a party boat post! 🎉.
Love it. I've always wanted a houseboat.
Beautiful boat, he did a awesome job! As a European the Canadian French accent sounds a bit different to regular French I’m used to, with a American accent sort of 😉. Great series, thank you so much love it! The House boat in Paris is still my favorite😊
J'aime aussi vôtre goût, et le choix des couleurs, c'est lumineux ❤❤
Beau travail, c’est vraiment top.
Quel effort! C'est beau.
Merci :)
Plant boxes up the deck could add coolness
Very interesting, and I have a dream to have a beautiful houseboat 👍👍👍
Nice boat but the open upper deck needs a roof as the sofa set may get wet when it rains.
You're home is lovely and I love your kitchen. It feels so homey. Also, dining chairs do not have to match. Wouldn't it be fun to have two additional chairs that are similar but not exactly like the ones you already have. The only advice I would give is to follow your heart and trust yourself. Also, I would love to know about the paint you used on the living room walls. I want my bedroom to be that color. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.
Gorgeous!
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow
Thanks for watching, happy you enjoyed the houseboat tour :)
Il est très belle votre maison bateau ❤❤🚢
Wonderful!
Happy you liked the tour, thanks for watching :)
Quel rêve !
Merci :) Effectivement c'est tellement bien fabriqué!
Belle Réno . J’en ai possédé un pendant 30 ans . Best time of my life .
Love it 🧜♂️🧜♀️🧜
Beautiful houseboat. Plus compliqué pour comprendre le canadien/franglais !
All I want..
😎🤙
French canadian hihi
I need dudes voice for the lady's 🌻
The owner/ builder speaks FRENCH! Video is mostly French with captions.
This boat is so much better than the last one - but hey, still no sink to wash your hands in the bathroom? What is it with boats and no-wash-your-hands policy after doing your business? 😂
Lovely Reno. I'm sorry but Canadian French is Soooo BIZARRE. it's French with a Heavy MINNESOTA accent !!!
for 180 grand you can get something far more seaworthy!
Guess one has to learn french to watch this channel . Not worth subbing to
I mean, there are 3 frickin countries in the world that still use feet, toes, fingertips, nosegirth and other stupid measurements. Can't you at least in one of your videos be arsed to actually present data in metric?
In Canada and Quebec we use both, but it depends what we're measuring. Habit + the official switch to metric made in the 1970s. Confusing I know, but I doubt that is gonna change.
