    • It would totally make sense if humans of that world were like Pokemon in that they have natural abilities, and a limited skillset. This is mainly for the games though, as the anime/manga seems to function with more realistic rules. You, the main character and your rival, have unusual ability to grow your Pokemon faster than normal, but it comes at the cost of being dead useless at anything that isn't Pokemon training. Of course, you're like a tween or young teen (depends on the game), but you're somehow fit and presumed knowledgeable enough to go on an adventure and camp on your own (with your Poke-pals) for days or weeks at a time.

    • and when running out of stamina you black out the same way you do when losing a battle. Problem is that there’s no Human Center to respawn at, lol Not a bad idea though. Surf HM is aquired much later in the game, giving you enough time to use the swim mechanic to reach places as far the stamina meter can take you. Surf-required areas could be a city with a gym or islands with a bunch of late in game pokemon as well as items. You could also head back to where you could only swim before and use Surf there to progress further.

    • @@Crudeliciousbops . The swim ability is in a rom hack called pokemon ash gray. There is an alternative for every hm on that game Surf = swimming Surf on Orange islands = lapras Hm cut = axe Rockclimb = climbing kit Rock smash : pickaxe
