  • Liked your presentation very much, thank you! You got into great details presenting every problem which a photographer can get in while being in the field, even if they don't own a z9. Keep up the great work and the Z6 is indeed a very underrated camera because of its unique CFExpress slot, I bought mine very cheap too!

  • Very interesting topics, thank you. Your enthusiasm on photography and your equipment, very much mirrors mine. Great channel, well presented. Have you ever tried adaptors for other makers lenses?

  • 34:45 704AUD is $470 in US. Afaik there are no such prices as of now (July 2023). Quick investigation: at Adorama most 2Tb card on back order, prices from $500. At B&H prices also from $500, some in stock.

    • The Pergear site on Ebay, if you add the coupon discount JULY10NON. is not a bad price still and you could go the pay in 4 x payment option.

  • I hope that you will never need to use the Smallrig L Plate in portrait mode on tripod on a windy day, as I lost a whole night of Star-trail photography (654 frames x 30sec) in a rarely clear weather without Moon Cape Schanck... And it wasn't a great windy day as I was the only one to loose the shots after few test shots to check focus and speed before starting... As far as I can see Smallrig haven't changed the design to make a second point of touch at the top or bring the side closer to the body... Just push with a finger the top of the L to see the movement which transform in vibration with a wind...

    • If you leave the triangular strap ring on and place it in the provided slot correctly I have heard it sits tight and there is no moovement. I also have the video rig which braces very tightly so plenty of opsions that will prevent trouble, if you know.

  • There have been many vids and related comments discussing the fact that the small rig L-Bracket has a concerning amount of wiggle play when using on tripod in the vertical portrait position. In fact I see such a comment below. And does that replacement eye cup stay attached when using and rotating, because I’ve lost a few over the years with other Nikon camera’s in which I have replaced equally pathetic OEM eyepieces?

    • The small rig bracket wobble when the camera strap mount is not placed correctly into the slot provided. The eye piece stays without a problem.

  • Which 1.4 Sigma primes do you have? I have the Sigma 1.4 f mount and 1.8 Z S, the Nikon 1.8 is super super sharp and since I do a lot of video, the 50 has almost no focus breathing.

    • 24mm. 35mm. 50mm. 85mm art 1.4 primes and the 150-600mm zoom.

    • @@MarkHummerNikonZ9 interesting. How do you find them for video? I found the AF to be very "snappy", the Sigma f-mounts couldn't do the smooth zoom transitions I use for AF on the S mount. The other side of that is, manual AF on S mount lenses is horrendous.

      @petersuvara@petersuvara7 ай бұрын
    • @@petersuvara I have no issues with them at all, not as smooth and fast as a S line lens but really not much difference really.

  • I was amazed at how much smaller the Z 24-70/2.8 is compared to the F mount version ... and you call it "chunky"? I find it quite small and light mounted on my Z9. My F mount D850+grip+24-70/2.8 is twice the size of the Z9 equivalent. The size and weight savings are huge. It is certainly better for me than carrying a bunch of primes around and then have to swap lenses. Carrying around several primes rather than one pro zoom would be more clunky in my bag. You can always set f/2.8 lenses to f/4 but you can't set f/4 lenses to f/2.8. If you don't need f/2.8 then of course don't buy the better lens. If you don't buy a lot of the unnecessary accessories (that I have never needed) you can invest more money in your lenses, or buy more lenses.

    • It's all about your personal use case. If most of what you do are portraits primes are best regardless of practicality. However if your shooting groups and landscapes then the zoom rules.

  • I wouldn’t go with 2tb plus cards if your card becomes corrupted you lose everything 500 gb is plenty for use and safety

    @SceneGrabs@SceneGrabs7 ай бұрын
    • The Z9 has 8K at 60p pro res raw = 723 mb`s that is only 13 minutes of video with a 500 Gb card. My 2 TB card gives me only 50 minutes or so. that`s why I have 2 of them.

      @MarkHummerNikonZ9@MarkHummerNikonZ97 ай бұрын
    • @@MarkHummerNikonZ9 I’m curious what professional use do you have for 8k 60p pro res raw seems like over overkill tbh.

    • @@MarkHummerNikonZ9 I can imagine a professional videographer using such a big card, but I find for photography having too many NEFs on my card is bloody annoying when doing LRC import. I clear my 1 TB card after every shoot and LRC import.

    • @@MarkHummerNikonZ9 I'm with SceneGrabs. So I look forward to your future discussion on this topic of 8k video. I've compared my 4k video on YT with down scaling on YT to 1080p and struggle to see a significant difference. But I love to do 4K 120. By the way, if you do look, yes I am an amateur amateur. LOL.
