If you guys didn’t notice, the theme for when Godzilla stares at Kong and his mother is the exact same soundtrack that is used when in Revenge of the Fallen, Megatron killed Optimus and Optimus slowly died.
However the pitch and verb is changed.
If you're wondering about the island Kong landed on, it's a real place called Marshall Island, it was a testing site for nuclear weapons. After the testing, a dome was built around the blast area in order to trap the radioactivity.

You can see how determined kongs mother is as she stares at the cave and then at kong knowing it’s his only salvation and survival. And she was prepared to fight off those skull crawlers to protect kong too. Truly a brave mother

Godzilla does not help Ghidorah. Godzilla fights for dominance against all rivals. But I can be wrong because we don't know the whole story.
It's probably because in a cannon story of the kong vs godzilla war. Godzilla ate a star and went on a rampage killing many kongs. And probably many other kaijus.

The movie is an ancent hate towards each other while this one has no ancent war, just vengeful hate. Well only to kong at least.

So how long does everyone wanna bet it will take for Kong to be turned into a joke again? Imma give it about 30 Seconds at most. Well now that Kong is presumably growing, I’m satisfied. As long as we see him hold his ground for a few seconds. Yeah, I’m finally gonna put my thoughts here. I like how Kong’s hatred of Godzilla is explained, and why he’d follow Godzilla and attack him for seemingly no reason in part 1. The Skullcrawlers are finally seen, and Ghidorah is probably somewhere around the corner. I’m ready for Part 6! Probably ending with Ghidorah’s return, and Godzilla and Kong teaming up.

Ok, so here is my theory. In official GvK novel, it's said that there was war between Godzilla's species and Kong's species in hollow earth. Godzilla's won war, and Kong's needed to migrate to island. Godzilla is older than Kong, wich makes it possible, that he was child/teen during war, wich might make him hate Kongs. We also see Ghidorah, Muto PRIME and obv Scull crawlers. We know that Ghidorah controls Scull crawlers, based on KOTM novel. In same novel, it's said that Kong didn't obeyed Ghidorah. So we can assume that his species would also not obey. So Ghidorah and Scull crawlers might want to take out Kongs. Muto Prime is still active, wich means that he didn't took out Dagon yet(Read Godzilla: After Shock). Wich can mean, that multiple Godzilla's are on island. Thanks to fact, that Muto's Prime prey are Godzilla's, he might go there, to make regular Muto's. That's why he is on island. Basing on fact, that there are probably only few Godzilla's left at that time, Kongs not being able tp fight many Giant Scull Crawlers, and fact that there is FCKING GHIDORAH AND PRIME, we can assume, that most of Godzilla's died here, cuz they were overuned. As i explained before, Godzilla or Dagon, wants to take out Ghidorah, and they hate Kongs(Cuz war in hollow earth). So if any Kong would stand in their way, they will kill him(For example, that one Kong who got beamed). Tl;DR: Godzilla hates Kong, Ghidorah wants to kill Kongs, Godzilla wants to kill Ghidorah, and by accident kills few Kongs. Muto Prime wants to kill Godzilla's.
Kong was born after the war because he was a teen during the 70's, ik titans live longer than most speicies but i think he was born on the island

In lore Kong's mom was giving birth to him IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT, but she put him inside a cave safely and the first moments of his life he had to watch his parents get torn apart by Skull Crawlers. Godzilla on the other hand, has witnessed all of his species being killed off by Ghidorah, MUTO's and even other Kongs.

Meanwhile Kong was just born while his first impressions of the world was darkness, death, and sorrow and he lost his parents only knowing them for a few minutes and also he watched them die and had to raise himself all alone in this harsh world.
