No matter how many years have gone by, motorsports will still have accidents no matter the technology, regulations etc
But, luckily, safety regulations make them safer and cause less fatalities, which is awesome !

I just want to take a moment to appreciate John Aley, the inventer of the roll cage. 5 years ago, I was in a car accident where the vehicle flipped and rolled on the highway 5 times. So a lot of these accidents really hits close to home, it's truly a different reality in those split seconds moment.

In my opinion roof flaps should be mandated for all gt cars. It has shown to work in many circumstances in nascar, so why havent the fia mandated them yet?
Too difficult/expensive to get to work in GT. It only works in NASCAR because there's only 3 body styles per series, that are used for several years at a time. That means that NASCAR itself can do the research, test the results & then tell the teams where & how large the roof flaps need to be for each body style. In GT racing, there's far too many different manufacturers and models being raced worldwide for that to work, as there is no "one size fits all" solution. Each car would need a model specific setup tailored to it - just installing "roof flaps" could cause more problems than it would cure.
