Hot damn!
I chose the samsung ultra s22, on the basis they give a really good trade in price for pre orders, but maybe I made a mistake haha
Wow, that zoom and moon shot was insane difference
Hi verified
But its no secret that the moon shots are fake and created with AI and a Library of real moon pictures…its a good idea cause the moon looks always the same^^

Great video Aaron. There is a huge effort put in this video. Thanks for your detailed comparison.
Awesome comparison love it. Im getting the Ultra during the summer. Both the moon shot and the shutterlag can be manually matched by the samsung. Sure its slower in auto mode but it is not a permanent weakness. Especially if you are already taking a shot where you have plenty of time.
I remember how terrible Samsung’s Galaxy S5 camera was compared to the iPhone 6 -and I’m still mad at them 7 years later. Maybe it’s time to forgive.

That feature where when you zoom in on something or someone, the microphone is able to make you hear whatever your zooming in on louder. That’s insanely cool. I never knew the phones did that .

Amazing work 👏 thanks bro. Jamaica in on this 🇯🇲 🇯🇲
The astrophotography on Samsung's recent couple of phones has really impressed me. I have the S20 FE and when I try to take pics of the moon here in Colorado, the phone recognizes the moon and switches modes. I noticed immediately after switching an increase in clarity. It's likely just the AI kicking in and doing that AA or upscaling of the image to make clearer. I do really enjoy it, though. I used to use some janky setup of a telescope and a mount I made using resin and wire to mount my phone in the perfect position over the telescope eyepiece.
Yup, I have a Note 20 Ultra, and it takes INSANE moon shots! It's as clear as a lower end telescope. I love it.
Lol the moonshot is just a high res photo already stored in the phone. That's not a real-time moon shot. But I'm glad this trickery made you love the phone.
@@jaymaster103 it's not. First I thought it was fake, but I have tested it during different times of the month, and in daylight, and it's always another different picture.
@@Domi_Plays that alone proves my point, because the moon always keeps the same face towards the earth when rotating. So that pic shouldn't change. Yours is changing around because they are preset.

With the s20 and s21 phones, the updates in the first few months greatly improved the cameras photo and video quality. It would be interesting for a follow-up video after both Samsung and Apple have done a few software optimisations as both are fairly new.
So they can downgrade the camera quality with the updates hmmmm no wonder most smartphones degrade camera quality over time from updates.. 🤔🤔🤔
@@romella_karmey no the opposite, S21 ultra improved like 50 percent over the last 1 year, it became a different phone alltogether in 1 year. Samsung improves their flagship cameras a lot with updates

Arun needs to start doing a follow up camera tests after Samsung does their software updates for camera as well. More video ideas :) Edit: Disabling Shutter Sound and Vibration Feedback in settings makes the shutter lag feel a whole lot less.
It won’t make too much of a difference. We’re talking about software, it means there is a limit.
Yes. These two negatives are fixable via software (I think) and samsung usually is pretty good at taking their phones to the next level during the time they are out via software updates. The S21 Ultra camera feels like a complete generation ahead after all these software updates, it's insane.
@@cipri198zero yeah exactly, software, thats the only thing samsung has to improve lol if they get it just close to how iphone is optimized they will mash every other camera
Software could drastically change the results to get the most efficiency out of the hardware, but even if Samsung wanted to, given that the phone is using an OS made by google, and different hardware (like the snapdragon chip), they can’t do much about it. This is where Apple takes the cake.

@@Tetrathegod not at all.
Everything else aside, that moon zoomed in image is in itself a feat to be achieved by the phone.
Actually the zoomed moon is not achieved by the phone, it's achieved by the AI, it's better like the fake moon shots from Huawei P30 which basically just replaced/pasted the highres moon picture there, it's an artificial made picture (first of all you only need to thinking, if the camera need about 5-6 sec to collect the light to make a proper low light photo, how they can do a clear moon image 30-60 times per second on a video, if it's the real captured image?)
It’s fake
try vivo same result for $600
@@Winkoo6 Because the problem with capturing the moon isn't that there isn't enough light coming from the moon, there's too much compared to the rest of the scene. One consideration: Samsung has yet to push up camera software enhancements for the S22 Ultra. I know on my S21 Ultra, the camera seemed to improve continuously over the last year. I think a few releases from now, many of your points may be addressed. Since I love travel and hiking, the zoom on the Samsung has allowed me to largely leave my DSLR and even my Panasonic Lumix at home.

This is the first iPhone I've been using and I've honestly been a bit disappointed with its camera. While it delivers great results in most situations It shows quite terrible flaring / ghosting in situations whenever there are brighter elements in the frame which is valid for the standard lens and zoom lens. For the wide angle lens it seems to be less visible. You can see it here starting at the clip at 7:00. The bright reflections on the water ripples are basically visible with texture details on his jacket and all of the frame when moving the camera (only flipped horizontally and vertically). It's not apparent on the Samsung. It's even worse when taking videos at night with city lights, car lights or any sort of text / neon signs etc. This can make some footage completely unusable. I guess what Apple would say is that we shouldn't film things like this then.. I only noticed that flaw a few weeks after I had purchased the phone and it's now bugging me whenever I'm in any of the described situations. Not something I would expect from a current flagship phone especially for that price. I wish any review had pointed that out before I bought it.
That moon shot comparison hasn’t aged well, people don’t want fake AI images lol

I've been using their phones for last 5 years and issues are pretty much the same from model to model. Always promisses that "it will be fixed with updates" and - nothing happens. Camera software (imo the weakest point of Samsung phones) just isn't on pair with great and capable lenses/hardware, I wonder why don't they finally do it right. With these lenses - results could outperform Iphone in every single aspect...

Yeah first time in buying an iphone over a Samsung Samsung is a huge disappointment in 2022
Yeah, I guess the problem is these pixel binning sensors can't pixel bin in real time, so they resort to using only part of the sensor when recording a video. Plus this is the first time Samsung is using hybrid stabilization (they were only using EIS on previous phones) so the videos look jittery and in fact worse than the S21 Ultra last year.
Currently have the 13. But now I’m even more confused on which is better. Samsung had lots of perks, but iPhones Cameral mostly looked like it took clearer pictures all around the board except for when you zoom in which idk I care it’s not like I take a lot of pics but now I’m going crazy

Congrats, really great review and honestly reflects what an all around better camera system means. I have kids and the shutter lag on Samsung Galaxy phones is really annoying and makes a lot of the photos a blurry mess unless you have loooots of light. This has been a problem since my S9+, then again S10 and s21 ultra and as you show, it remains a problem even on the s21 ultra. It makes you miss those one of a kind family moments. So finally I jumped to the iPhone 13 pro wagon this year and it's just better for kids and moving objects like pets and busy families. Sorry Samsung but I prefer crisp photos of my kids over a nice photo of a road sign 10 km away

Hello, I am new here, browsing reviews about "new" phone, due to my budget, but truly, thanks to your videos, love both S22 Ultra as well as iPhone 13 Pro Max. I know what I am after: I love photography, cinematography, stability, great functions of the phone and its camera (playing with the filters), smoothness of the OS itself, great battery (or as good as possible, at least), great performance (mainly when playing games) and last but not least the design of the phone itself. Thanks to this video in particular, I know more about both phones, having already some knowledge, although rather of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I am truly impressed what S22 Ultra can do when playing with the camera, especially the Zoom, that is insane!! I also agree, based on the comparisons in the video, that the colors in the photo look uniquely on S22 Ultra. Like they are shining naturally, no detail is being missed. Without any offense to iPhone 13 Pro Max, where it looks great and sharp. One thing that I noticed is that iPhone has slightly darker photos, especially when the scene itself is captured in the evening. It is not a disaster, but it is noticeable when you look at both in the video. It'll be a difficult decision for me, coz I got used to the smooth iOS system and its protection and other stuff on an iPhone, although my second phone has been model X, for a year and change, but honestly it is the worst iPhone ever - never experienced overheating and lagging so often, not even on model 8+. Ridiculous. Excuse me. Last but not least I need to admire your ability to speak honestly with great accent and good sense of humor. I am originally from Czechia, but English is already my second language, prefer it over my native language, to be honest, hehe. Overall it is a surprise to me that it is a draw in the end, but on the other hand it is also good that there are 2 titans to decide between. Thank you and stay safe and well :)
If you want better performance, battery and video pick, the iPhone 13 PM, the zoom is definitely very cool but as someone who had an older Samsung flagship, you really wont miss the zoom if you aren't already used to it, however you will be disappointed in about everything else, the only really food Samsung are the S23 and S24
Where are your new vids I really miss them because your my inspiration
Great video loved how you went into all the details when comparing the two phones I would love to see a video comparing the phone's features also but overall it was a great video
Congratulations ☝️ Message right away I have something for you!..
Been on this channel for 2 years and a half now and i really love how it feels to experience something that i myself can't. Sounds absurd to say but I'm happy when i see someone experiencing what i want to experience. A shared feeling in my end. Thank you
I agree with you ! i love this channel :) Honestly, i am slowly learning how to improve my channel like his :) My dream is to reach his goal
@@Ryan_Mikael Yes me too. However, I don't know how to start I'm just a simple person with no experience at doing something as big as this. But my goal is or dream should i say is to experience phine like this.

Amazing! It's not as good as the iPhone as you've rightly said, but close enough! The problem is the styling... sharp edges, broad, no camera bump and the finish. (or lack of it!) Looks businessy, especially with that pen!
