About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

I get so stressed out when I see these huge issues in your chateau. Then what relief I feel when you’ve fixed them! Chateau renovation is not for the meek and faint of heart! Bravo to all of you. I’m so amazed at your skill and hard work.
Thank heaven you found the huge problem, and immediately tackled it. I feel it's a miracle 🙏 that with all the weight of the furnishings and the massive construction above that area, the floor/ceiling did not collapse. Graham is invaluable....how wonderful it is that he helps with whatever needs doing. As usual working as a team brings huge rewards. WELL DONE.🌟🌟
I can't stop thinking how lucky you have been in being able to do all the work yourselves and having other family members to assist. It is truly a "family affair".

Its incredible the amount of money you saved by having Graham and you two do the beam repairs yourselves. Ash is correct that it worth doing it right the first time and not worry for a lifetime. The destruction is truly horrific. Terry I wonder if the other windows are now more of a priority to make sure your third floor stays stable? Wonderful to show us the good and the bad. Your videos are so informative and so well edited.
My late father would be impressed by the care you're taking to do the job properly, short cuts as you said might last 5 years or so but then it would all have to have come down, twice the work and expense. My father's motto was to do it properly or not at all, it was frustrating long-winded and drove me nuts lol, but I never had to revisit what he had done. Be immensely proud of yourselves xxx

It's nice to work together with Graham. He is a good helper. In every old building there is a lot of work and repairs to you'd better over estimate the jobs for the time you need.

Dry rot is always a huge concern, but is expected when there had been so much water penetration during the chateau’s abandonment. Great that you all have so much skill and that you had replacement materials in other rooms. Nice to watch Graham giving a hand as he seems to be a very hard worker as well!🥰

You should keep a sample of the beam to show people who come to the chateau for like a tour .. it's amazing what your family has done ❤ maybe use a small room near the entrance way to show "parts of relics" of what it was like when you needed to update home .. best of luck

I’m so sad to see Graham go, for some reason, his quiet strength adds such a calming effect to the atmosphere when I’m watching.
