  • I've been flying for over 30 years and I wouldn't have the nuts to try and land on a tiny strip with a slope. Total respect for you Ryan. Total.

  • Ryan you rocks! I’m sitting at my desk in Italy and I cannot stop thinking how brave and skilled you are as a pilot. Landing in that tiny strip in the middle of the mountains it is absolutely breathtaking. My eternal respect goes to you for the help you bring to these people. You describe things in such a good way that seems they are so easy, but they aren’t at all! high five from one of your Italian subscribers!

  • Hats off to you Ryan for the approach to Yawan. You've changed your mind about how to fly the approach and landing with experience and today I really benefited from that. In simulation I've found Yawan intimidating even in clear visibility as the terrain is quite confusing even in good weather conditions. Today I nervously simulated a flight as you did from Nadzeb to Yawan with difficult cloud conditions and found that you have taught me (all of us) a great deal in your videos. My simulator is not the most sophisticated but does really good cloud conditions over PNG and lets me land in a lot of wild places. The key to getting into Yawan turned out to be getting down through broken cloud into the small basin where the Urawe and Not Rivers meet, circling to lose height to get below the overcast then following the north cliff of the Urawe River. It is an organic approach, flying close to the hillside and close to the ground, skimming Worin and descending into the recess of Towet which throws you out to the south where the Yarwan airstrip is with the right descent rate. It worked out extremely well - almost like having an ILS!. I was very pleased with how the flight went as a result of your teachings. The flight back to Goroka was uneventful despite the clouds - as you say the Goroka Valley is so often open when you get there as it was on this trip but the "Cloud Breaker" you devised means it is always possible to land there. Thanks Ryan, your videos are inspiring.

  • Thank you so much Ryan for sharing, in such an amazing professionalism, your work as a PNG pilot but also as a video editor. I can only imagine how much work you put in the making of those videos beside all the complexity of flying in such a challenging terrain and weather. This brings to my time of flying a BH 212 between the Porgera mine and Mt Hagen, two to three times a day, to carry the mine workers in and out for their time off. IFR was not an option, the load on take off from Porgera did not allow for a lot of extra fuel, the weather in Hagen was not always a sure thing and landing options in between were very limited! Watching your videos, I can truly feel the anxiety that a pilot can experience in such conditions. Always working on a plan B,C and more if needed…is a skill that true bush pilots have. You are certainly one of them! Keep on the great job, fly safe, and happy landings. Cheers.

  • I'm not a pilot, but watch this type of video every now and then, because it's really interesting. I have someone in my family who is a commercial pilot and he watched a part of this video, when he was over here for a visit. He said, and I quote "To become a bush pilot you have to be either very very good or very very crazy". 😂 He also said, that it looks very chill and relaxed and the video doesn't even close tell how difficult flying in such conditions is, the pilot's skill just make it look so easy. I reckon he was impressed, which, knowing him, is not easy to do. 👍

    • This is Christ's question Mathew 15: 3: "But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?" A women say "the Husband has no name". Another ones say "the Husband has many names". Some of women "love the Husband in all his manifestations" like: neighbour, taxi driver, coworker... But, all of those prostitutes say "the Husband is the only". Then they even talk about "trinity of the Husband" and they are not against "the Son taking the Husband's place". In the same way religious prostitutes try to hide their disgusting fornication with different gods. Here is the God's word spoken through Moses, Deuteronomy 11: 16-17: "Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; And then the LORD's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you." So, the God says there are other gods, but blind leaders of blind lead people into trap. "Jesus" means "Jehovah is salvation". This is the name of Christ real christians are hated for. "HalleluJah" means "Praze Jah" (Jehovah). Psalm 83: 18: "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why liers feel so good while righteous people are persecuted. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our beloved ones again! :-)
