Heron feeding on baby waterbirds in a compilation of images

In an ideal animal habitat for predatory wading birds that are hunting to feed, a heron that eats bird babies born to aquatic birds is feeding on baby waterbirds. In this compilation of images, a heron is hunting, and it eats waterbird babies right through the aquatic birds' breeding seasons. The heron is actively eating the waterbird babies alongside ducks and other waterfowl in this water habitat. The herons are highly adapted birds that apply experience and instinct when feeding on baby birds, and their finely tuned attacks are an incredible example of what nature and evolution will create for an animal to survive in the wild natural world every day. The heron is a meat-eating predatory wading bird that attacks and feeds on other animals. They are carnivorous, top predators, and exceptional hunters of prey and animals that live and breed worldwide. Herons have an incredible instinct to attack and eat other animals. This feeding behavior has evolved over millions of years, enabling them to have an extensive menu of wild protein-rich food. The herons have a diverse meat diet, from hunting to eating other animals. They especially like to eat fish and various aquatic creatures that live in seawater and freshwater. The heron can be seen actively hunting and eating small mammals and baby birds throughout the cities and wildernesses, especially when they live and breed in the herons' natural habitats. The herons live and breed in almost every aquatic habitat close to water worldwide.

Canadian geese are very aggressive when it comes to defending their eggs and young. Interesting video though.

    • Geese in general are pretty protective of their nests and territory. Even taking on swans (which doesn't always end well.) But this Heron is smart, it knows this is easy prey that will feed it well. Hopefully the parents of these ducklings learn to hide their nests and offspring better, or find a territory with less predators

    • It's amazing altogether. Surprisingly birds who eat fish or bugs, etc will take opportunities of other food if it's available or easy to get. Like a chicken for example, most people don't realize they'll eat not only their seed or bugs, but also mice, smaller snakes, young birds or anything practically available for them. Birds are so smart. It really is incredible. It's unfortunate the parent ducks couldn't protect their offspring. Hopefully it's a lesson learned for any surviving ducklings or future broods. It's not exactly like they can fight the heron; who cam easily kill them.

There’s no communication, no empathy (though thats mostly a human concept due to our social nature). Ducklings are just walking food- like cattle. Death is just a natural part of the survival of a species.

My question arises because I am used to see the hunter and prey game where both of them have some opportunities or attributes, maybe force, mabe speed, maybe a mother protection, etc. But in this case I don't see the opportunity of the prey, or a mother to defend them, just nothing, that's why I wonder if this is real irish wildlife of there is the hand of the man in this situation.
