    • He didn’t cheat… the analysis of his games / rise has been done and he hasn’t cheated at all. It’s super sad that a person can make an action that doesn’t even make a real accusation and the world just accepts it like blind fools. I don’t even like Hans.. he embodies “The arrogance of youth” but he’s not a cheater.

  • Hans was great in this video. He was able to out talk and (of course) outplay Dina (with only 60 seconds to her 5 minutes!), and still stay very lighthearted and fun the whole time. She more than met her match.

    • @@mikecantreed Niemann already had an extremely strong bishop at d6 while Dina was having a highly restricted Knight on h5. In order to defend the knight she probably needs to play Bishop h8 and Knight g7, her position is totally miserable.

Sit you down opposite Dina, when she pins you with her laser eyes and beats you down with her trash talk, I guarantee, you will not be able to lift a finger to defend yourself, let alone manage polite conversation. But Hans turned the tables on her, especially in the second game, where Dina appeared to be stuck in molasses. Well, it's all in good fun.

  • Judging by what I've seen in this clip alone, Hans was playing at GM's level. He was capable of moving pieces in the blink of an eye and most importantly played with strategy. So there's no doubt that he's a decent OTB player.

    • the thing is at best prbly tier 2 chss player in GM chess players, with tier 1 being like fabiano magnus and hikaru, so the past 2 years he has been playing at a tier 1 level, which usually manifests younger than the age that hans is at right now

  • I really enjoyed this video! I now have seen a few of Dina's videos & she's a very good player but this kid Hans ran right over her. I mean she had 5min to 1min. Those are SERIOUS time odds and he still annihilated her TWICE without breaking a sweat! She seems to intimidate many people w/ her trash talk, but this time she's the one who seemed intimidated. Regardless, this video was fantastic!

Carlsen just couldn't accept he could be trounced playing white pieces in *two* face-to-face, over the board, matches (Meltwater and Sinquefield) by an 18-year old that just made the GM norm last year.
