I tried a Kraft Macaroni and Cheese flavored ice cream and it was actually delicious. The sweet and salty cheese flavor worked very well. 😋

Cheese ice cream was common in Georgian and Regency Britain (please google search to learn about the eras). It was called "ices" then. Cheese, especially parmesan, was considered "luxurious" then and so exotic it was spelt with a "z" rather than an S. There was no standardised spelling for all variants of English pre-industrial revolution. Cheese, especially imported Cheese like Parmesan was bloody expensive and valueable if you go back further into Restoration England (please google to find out about the period) and earlier where it was one of the great diplomatic gifts to give to your host if your host was a lord or bishop or someone up in the pecking order. Because it was so valueable buried their imported cheese like "parmezan" during the Great Fire of London. And then fast-forward to the Georgian and Regency eras, use of premium ingredients like parmesan in ice cream was considered very luxurious. It IS a milk product, so maybe it goes together ok. I'm hooked on grocery store mochi ice cream. Never thought I would eat that. Rice dough balls with ice cream in the middle. Had a heck of a time getting my 20 to early 30 nephews to try it. They all love it now.

My question is, was it cheese flavored as in American cheese or as in Japanese cheese? Cause there's a huge difference between the two I guess. My brother said the cheese in Japan was the only disappointing part of the trip. Granted, we're two white boys in Wisconsin. So we're far from sleeping on the cheese game.

That sounds gross as far as flavors are concerned but I’d try it. I’ve had garlic soft serve at the Gilroy garlic festival in Gilroy, California and it’s actually pretty good. It was sweet with a slight garlic taste right at the end.
