As a 49ers fan, I tend to be very sensitive to any hateful comments towards the 49ers. However, I took the "top 15" comment by Micah Parsons as a compliment. If Parsons had said Purdy top 5, he would lose credibility and get laughed at. Even top 10 is a stretch. And top 15 doesn't mean exactly 15th. To me it meant somewhere between 11 and 15. Which seems quite reasonable and right on the money.

It’s Purdys ability to process and execute whatever play is given to him. It doesn’t matter if he has Shanahan or any other OC in the league. His awareness is what’s keeping him to good. His peripheral vision is top notch as well. He understands when to leave the pocket or stay in. He makes the OCs job much easier.

Considering Purdy was the LAST pick in the draft, calling him a top 15 QB is absolutely a compliment. This guy is playing at the highest level of football where only the most talented athletes play, he was on the fast track to being an unsigned free agent. To go from that to a starting QB in this league, to then being called a top 15 is nothing short of a compliment and it you take it any other way is ridiculous and entitled. Especially while in this era of great quarterback play.
I love James Jones on this show with them. He balances everything out. He doesn’t compromise his opinion to be in cahoots with Joy Taylor or anyone else, and that elevates everyone’s takes.
Check his RATING!!! He doesn’t play for a team that throws 40 times a game and he’s still tearing it up.

32 teams, every team has at least 2 QBs. That’s at least 64 QBs but closer to 70 QBs on rosters. 15 is very fair for now and much higher than most Purdy doubters have him. It’s a compliment for now.. if he plays the whole season the way he’s played thus far than at the end of the year anything lower than 6th would be a diss.

They are being very selective as to how they are breaking this down. Last time I checked most teams have at least 2 QBs which being in the top 15 puts you in the top 25% minimum. For someone who was the last person picked in the draft saying they are in the top 15 is no slight. They however have chosen to make it about the starting quarterbacks so they can drum up some controversy.

A realistic gauge to determine Purdy on the list is how many decent defenses has he beaten in those 9 games. At the end of the day, it’s about the playoffs, where you face the best defenses in the league. If we want to base how he played against elite defenses in a playoff situation we could say so far, he’s an average to slightly above average QB. Parsons is probably right.
This one was a GREAT discussion, i wish it would've gone on longer.
As a 9ers fan, I’ve seen plenty of quarterbacks who cannot execute Shanahan’s system and fail. His system requires elite timing, recognition, anticipation and accuracy to get the YAC from guys like Deebo and CMC. Doing that consistently (see Jimmy G) is really hard. As a bonus, Purdy has excellent evasiveness and scrambling ability because Shanahan often leaves free rushers coming right at the QB. So far, so good. Purdy’s biggest challenge will be staying healthy behind so-so pass blocking.

Kyle shanahan is a fantastic offensive coach. The defense is insane. Put brock on the giants against the cowboys. I doubt he looks much better, if at all than daniel jones. Situations matter. Brock has played very very well for sure, but he is somewhere in the kirk cousins range.
