We already know that 'someone' began retroactively erasing evidence of Lewis's death and even existence, editing Vivi's memories through her eyes. (The reason they were blacked out in the mirror in Ghost) We again see the same color power coming from her eyes to delete pictures of Lewis on Arthur's laptop.

For the longest time, I thought Arthur inspecting the locket and seeing it change to the photo of all four of them was Lewis remembering the crew again with it only showing Vivi at first since she was his love, but after watching it so many times and how heart-broken he is from it changing, I think the photo transforms to show your loved ones based on whoever touches the locket so Lewis was feeling horrible since it meant Arthur actually did care about him as much as the others.
Usually I have a weird way of subconsciously predicting when old projects get a new episode. Going back and rewatching a series only to find out the new one gets announced like a day later Well tonight I randomly remembered this series was a thing and rewatched the whole thing, god I still love it front to back. Here's hoping I've done it again!

Since the dog is dead, the dog itself has been reanimated, and they guy that had the metal hand, had his hand chopped of (duh) but his hand roams. Now since the dog is dead, im thinking that the arm will takeover the dog or comeback. Or my mans with the robo arm will go crazy again

I wanted to point out a nice detail. I love that if you look at Shiromori right after she has to knock Mystery, the kitsune, away from her in self defense, she has tears in the corners of her eyes when she turns around. This shows how much she hated that she had done that, and then after Vivi had obliterated Shiromori, and only her trunk remanded, Mystery looks horrified that his (friend...?) Was dead. I wonder what kind of relationship they had in the past
Basically shiromori It was a flower to which mystery gave his blood, it grew enough to become a forest fed by mystery's blood (perhaps enough to become conscious) This can be seen in the images seen on hellbent
The heart is still in a whole pice, so probably she isn't entirely dead?

It's sounding like the next one is gonna be truly epic. Ben has brought in more people, and they're taking the time to really get it right. I'm hoping it comes out this October, but I'm with you. However long it takes, I trust they're taking that time to make it legendary.
This series has more symbolism and character development in 4 5 minute episodes than some animes do with 300+ 30 minute episodes.
That's what happens when you have a small team working on a project for 2 years over a larger team with a bigger budget doing it in a few months.

Oh god, I think the spirit that possessed Arthur's arms was the thing that grabbed Mystery's heart at the end, which is why Arthur's prosthetic arm was going nuts and why Mystery's eyes glowed green. If that's the case and that spirit is in control of Mystery... The crew is in serious trouble.

I think you're right, but I'm confused as to how? We saw the hand when Shimori? Tree lady? Scissors mc flowers? Anyways, when she came out of the cave, so did the spirit/hand. There's no way it could've gotten to the rest of the team so fast. Unless, I suppose, the hand is not the whole spirit. Edit: Unless what it grabbed wasn't IN mystery. The hand went to Mystery's heart the second it left the cave. maybe it was just waiting for Mystery to be weak enough for it to do something.

I love that whole ancestorial circumstantial simultaneity going on with Vivi where we see both her and her ancestor fight the same battle against the same opponent for the same reasons in the same way. Vivi just seems like she was much more successful in her battle.
I just rewatched the Mystery Skulls Animated - Hellbent episode, and noticed, that there were a few flashing picture about the past of Lewis and a couple about the past of Mystery. Those memories about Mystery shows the origin of Shiromori. As a Kitsune, Mystery created Shiromori by giving it's blood to a flower, which transformed into her - as it's creator, as it's parent, it doesn't wants it's destruction, and that's why he stopped Vivi from destroying her completely. But she doesn't seems to appreciate the gesture, and take it as a pity, which angers her even more...
I had originally stated that October was something of an ideal goal point in releasing the video since that October time frame is pretty significant for us historically. I did not want to hard confirm that date until I had some better idea when things would be ready. “While progress is still being made on our end, it is not at the pace that would likely make it in time for an October release. Part of that is due to people we have lined up to assist us in production are busy on other projects and until they are freed up there isn’t much we can do until they are available. Since this will likely be our last big project for a while, we did not want to have people rushed on things just to get it out the door. This combined with the fact that we still don’t quite have all of the animatic pieces in place makes it tough to nail down what a hard release date looks like at the moment. As such it is likely best to assume that production will go into next year. Apologies that the August update here is a bit of a bummer. Should anything come up in the meantime or if we need to make a call out to people for additional help, I will be sure to let everyone know. While I would like to have SOMETHING meaty to show off in October, I don’t quite know what that will consist of at the moment. @@hanakoisbestgirl4752 I think it's one of those things with certain undead that they do in fact have a weak spot, but all it really does is stun them and piss them off as it can't actually kill them. Now if that shotgun had any magical or supernatural properties, Lewis would probably have done more then flinch. Same goes for the howl causing Lewis to react in pain. It wasn't the howl that hurt, it was the massive amount of supernatural energy that Envy caused Mystery to discharge during the possession. Arthur's arm even reacted to it because part of that power surge was from Envy as well while Envy is still technically part of him.

Funny bit of trivia. The sing your hearing at the very beginning is actually a different song called enemy. And it's for those who aren't a big fan of the animated series 'ghost guy' Lewis talking to 'yellow guy' Arthur. About could you ever imagine becoming someone I'd call your enemy. Its a short song if you want to go listen to the lyrics and how it fits in with the story as a whole. Lewis and Arthur were great friends until the incident in the cave where Arthur was possed by the evil entity which took his arm. There's a lot or story still to come
So was the whole thing with Lewis locket that he didn’t realize he still cares for aruther even after everything he *believed* happened
kinda, to me it seems like whatever happened to him that turned him to the ghost also warped he's memories, but when arthur literally touched his heart they started coming back
he belived that arthur killed him but that corruption was controlling his arm, thats why now he have a robotic arm

@@trainerziv2043 Personally, I'm thinking that there's another player to all of this. Mystery has both a Lavender and an Indigo leak in his heart. I'm guessing that Lewis is one, and that the other helped revive him as well as altered Vivi's memories and the picture on Arthur's laptop (and possibly Lewis's locket as well). Perhaps because of his involvement, Arthur seems somewhat resistant to the mind-wipe. He knows that Lewis is missing, but doesn't seem to know that he had a hand (pun) in killing him. Perhaps its why he was able to see the truth behind Lewis's locket after a few seconds of peering at it.
and we can also see in 4:55 that arthur's corrupted hand (we can see it at the start of freaking out) is now controlling mystery (doggo) sorry if I have bad english

Shinomori was crying after she hurt Mystery so I don’t think she wants to hurt him. Only has an addiction to his blood most likely to survive since it helped the forest grow in the first place

One detail I noticed that noone else seems to have mentioned so far: When Vivi got wounded, not just did Mystery's heart start bleeding blue, he also suddendly grew an 8th tail. After Shiromori dies and he bleeds white, his possessed form had 9 tails. Additionally, his ninetails form in Ghost had 6 tails, which was just as he attacked Arthurs arm. Considering the tails usually signify age or power, this might have some interesting implications on what is going on with him afterwards. You can also see that each of his 9 tails at the end has a color associated with the characters we know plus some more, similarly to the 8 colors bleeding from his heart at the end, plus one more thats most likely representing himself.
Also his heart was already bleeding dark green meaning there's most likely some major MAJOR history.
@@creativebriarbe7457 Also Vivi and Shiro's stream emitted from already patched spots, suggesting past damage that got "fixed", possibly due to the old history with mushi and shiro? What I wonder the most is who the pink and black streams belong to. All the other 6 can be associated with characters we already know, but these two are still a mystery, pun intended.
I went back and watched all the videos just looking for shots of his tail. It appears he had 6 tails earlier in the series, but starts this episode with 7 and gets up to 9 by the end. It's worth noting this isn't the first time he's had 9 tails ht tps://i.i gur.c om/YMMnBxq.png

@@lazyspade1559 He's sleep deprived, his friends are supernatural in their own way (his girl friend being the reincarnation of a Japanese Samurai with ice powers and his boy friend a ghost who had been trying to murder him for what might as well be a week or so), he lost his arm to a demon, his second arm is malfunctioning, and his dog is an ancient kitsune who just went crazy and is being controlled by his arm. I'm surprised he took this long to break.

So, quick guess theory: Lewis' locket reveals the heart's desire. That's why he breaks down crying when he sees how the picture changed after Arthur touched it. He realized that all Arthur wants is the 4 of them together again.

The picture changed to show all four after Arthur touched it with his mechanical arm. The mechanical arm seems to have anti-supernatural/ magic cancelling properties, which implies the picture was always of whole crew, but something tampered with the locket to only show Lewis and Vivi.

Ive watched this entire thing (4 episodes for the moment) so many yimes and i see new details every time. Im just super curious how it all concludes. Really hoping Arthur gets his time to really shine.
My theory is that, since we never saw Shiromori's heart destroyed -only removed- it's possible that she will be returning later. as we saw with Lewis, some supernatural creatures can return just from their heart alone (although that may be unique to him since he is a ghost, and not a tree monster).

Actually, his artificial arm seems to have some anti-supernatural capabilities. In "Hellbent," he whacked the dashboard of the van to get it going again after it stalled, and at the end of last episode, touching Lewis with that arm is what revealed his identity. In this one, he touched the locket and that's what revealed the full picture (literally).

@@DoctorWortspieler I think in hellbent curse that stoped the car just went from the car to his hand (since car started working, but hand went dead). It might also be the reason why it acted like this in other instances - it was filled with Lewis's magic. He made himself that arm, which might be see as special talent, but it hardly gives him any advantage since all he got is supplement for arm he lost.

I just realized that Mystery’s shadow gets a new tail every time his soul is damaged, in “Ghost” he had 6 tails, here after Vivi got slashed he had 8 tails, and after Shirimori died he had 9
Considering Vivi is using a baseball bat and we see her "heart" fly away from her body after its smashed in two. Its possible Shirimori is still alive.
The number of tails in folk lore usually means an older and more powerful kitsune, although Mystery is probably older than he looks Also Arthur’s arm possession made a comeback
Well the thing is that apparently kitsunes get godlike power from having 9 tails, so I’m thinking that most of that power is from mystery himself, and some of it is from Author’s cursed arm.

@@ma_de_sa5848 I feel like it's more that the trauma of thinking he was betrayed and the perceived reason skewed his memories. He couldn't remember them as a team, as friends anymore, he only remembered him and Vivi, and that Arthur took her away.

Ghost Lewis thought his future was ruined, but that was partially due to his memory of his past relationships being skewed by emotions. The picture in his heart was never just him and Vivi; it was of the team.
