    • The other sound is the high pitched nervous whine I make when I see what is essentially a 16" saw blade spinning free in the air inches from his wrist. I know, I know, pros know what they are doing, and the piece is stunning. Still, I was relieved when the spinning stopped.

  • Besides the fact that this is one of the most beautiful bowls I’ve ever seen, I’m more amazed at how you came up with the idea of making it from a flat piece of wood. I’m in awe, plain and simple.

  • Andy...brah.... I just don't have any words and all I can do is nod my head, with a slight smirk, thinking...beauty in simplicity. What I'm loving even more about the video of this piece? The subtle little time edits\shifts you threw in to it...like a drum fill. I've been watching your vids for awhile now and this one, imo, is the best yet. A pint o'mothers milk for you good Sir (Guinness, for those that are not aware). It's been a joy watching you become Shokunin before our eyes.

  • Some people have great engineering skills. Some have a great design intuition. Some have a great eye for picking complementary color and patterns. Some are able to think outside the box to execute on a concept. You sir, are exceptional at all of these which is extremely rare. The rest of us do our best to copy. 🤓 Thanks for the work you do in sharing. So wish you’d share more on your techniques, maybe via a paid subscription to make it worth your time since woodturning is at least some part of your livelihood. Just a thought…

  • Oh wow, this is absolutely stunning! I wasn't sure about the square corners on the top at first but they look great. I would have made it circular only because the uniqueness/unusual-ness of the shape distracts a little from all the beautiful wood textures but that is purely a personal preference, it looks incredible with or without. Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
