Lol you literally created a pig pen that distorts reality
Pinned comment and no replies? I think I'll change that.
@@IDontHaveACreativeHandle lol thanks
@@IDontHaveACreativeHandle Fine, I'll be the 3rd. I saw this comment when it came out. I had a similar (or identical) incident with this. It was actually at the very start of my Superflat journey and I did a ginormous amount of pig breeding. It was absolutely wondrous but super laggy if I even looked an inch at the pigs direction. It was in Preview Edition as well so this weird message popped-up saying "World Error" in Minecraft chat and then the sun would move backwards go from dawn to midday then back to dawn. I afk'd for hours because it was too laggy to do anything else and yet there was no weather change significance but when I left the area rain started to happen. No idea if that was related but I recommend staying away from the pig pen in the future. Ultimately, I got 17 gold ingots and a couple of nuggets in my first lightning strike without looting III :) I'll try and find my old screenshots from this. It was a while back and I got school so I gotta do it later.
aw, I'm one day late with my comment.
174 likes but 4 replies? Let me fix that
In 1.17, Mojang implemented a bug fix to make Bedrock Edition thunderstorms occur as often as they do on Java Edition (once every 9.5 hours or ~28 in-game days). After that bug fix, I was seeing lightning about once a week (I probably play about 10-12 hours per week). At some point since then, I think that Mojang broke the fix. It’s now months in between lightning storms. I think it might be time to submit another bug report…
In 1.16, you could get gold from drowned.
@@bedohany6175Ah yes, I miss those days when the drowned were useful for something else besides the tridents
I play on a world I had since 1.17. it's been thousands of hours . Thunderstorms occur every time I play. I live in a jungle biome though I think biome being warm wet has something to do with it.
The rain timer resets every time you sleep
I only get thunder storms the 1st day of phantoms spawning per x non sleep nights.
My solution to the lighting striking the pig issue is that I have all my pigs on top of trapdoors. Then when the lighting hits the lightning rod it powers the trapdoors making the newly changed zombie pigmen drop down some blocks so thr lighting won't hit then again. This way I can afk all day/night and come back to some zombie pigmen.
Make multiple pig pits and spread them out so it doesn't destroy the world frames in that area, also gives more areas for lightning to strike when it does come
If you collect enough red stone from witches, you can make something that covers up the lightning rod by the pigs and maybe uncovers another. That way you could properly afk to wait for lightning without worrying about the pigs getting killed.
I think that requires repeaters and to craft them you need stone
@@bestGaming132 I was thinking of using a system with a minecart and torches onto a detector rail, but I think you have to use stone pressure plates to craft a detector rail. I don’t think any other ones work.
@@Adrian-kb4rg its impossible on superflat
@@bestGaming132 it can be done without them, on java at least
@@Adrian-kb4rg uhh, on bedrock superflat it's not possible to get stone friend. We don't have any structures
IMO the big problem is that there's only one path to progress in a flat world in Bedrock edition, so if you get stuck or frustrated there's no good option
Honestly, lava bucket should be obtainable from the wandering trader or the armorer villager. He shouldn't just buy it, but sell it as well. That would open up so much more, like getting gold but many other things.
Toycat: ...and there could be a third weather type! Clear weather: Am I a joke to you?
Amazing that you got as far as you did
I remember one of the very first superflat streams you basically quit in frustration, ending the experiment essentially. But ultimately thought better of it, and thank god you did. It's been a wild ride.
I'm sad that this world is over for now - i used to love watching these, listening to toycat rambling on about stuff, and playing minecraft. but i also understand the need for a break & that sometimes people just et burntout on projects
Such a shame. I loved this series. I do wonder, though, if having too many pigs in the same area somehow surpressed lightning strikes.
I started a flat world but cheated to give myself a lava bucket at the start. I'd love to see an update where the lava bucket could be obtained randomly by trades or something. Right now, I'm working on getting iron to make a cauldron to collect water to... Also, as long as the bonus chest contains at least one apple, you can progress. You can use the apple to cure your first villager and use emeralds from trading with that villager to buy an oak sapling or 4 dark oak saplings from a wandering trader.
nitwit: "Hello" litterally happened to me when I cured the first villager with my ONLY apple
What are you supposed to sell the villager if you only have an apple?
@@saythealphabet776 you can get wheat and other crops easily and sell that to a farmer
@@bestGaming132 you can only get potatoes and carrots, but how do you get more without wood? You'd need to kill thousands, even tens of thousands of zombies, to get enough carrots for 5 emeralds
@saythealphabet bonemeal is your magic power. First use a composter to create a farmer villager. Bonemeal from killing skeletons placed on grass will give you seeds to grow into wheat, which you can then trade to the villager for emeralds to use to buy things from the wandering trader.
I used to do this with my brothers but I would build a nether portal and end portal, I would eventually switch to creative and spawn in a bunch of mobs and make them fight them such as a horde of ravengers until we got bored, fun times
I love this world. It has an organic madness to it. ❤️
16:53 can you get stone/cobblestone? If you can, you can make a stone cutter and get bricks from stonemasons.
The only way to get stone is from a stone mason which means he has to get lucky with turning zombie villagers back into villagers
@@uhohhotdog so it is possible
@@awesomenessx15 it is
@@awesomenessx15no it isn't cause stone masons requires stone and you can't get stone nor cobblestone so no it isn't possible
At this point just afk Toycat. The wait will only make you crazier. Taking a break and then coming back is not a strat because you will eventually get tired again so...just afk
9:26 I gotten jungle saplings in my bonus chest and still got villagers because two apples were generated inside the chest.
I started with birch but also had 2 apples. I don't think it matters what saplings you start with but the apples are crucial
Theoretically, all you need is 1 log & 1 apple. Farmers can sell apples, so if you get 1 villager, you can get more.
I really want a weather overhaul in Minecraft. Maybe even seasons too. Seasons is something I personally would love, but they should at least add a little more depth to the weather.
The pig farm situation reminds me of stampy’s lovely world a few years ago where it became nearly unplayable near the love garden
It's your channel and your Minecraft, but personal, I think you should AFK to get lightning. Like with the Genocide Run and the Skeleton Horse. I know part of the fun of Super Flat was that everything was live streamed, but I think you should just bite the bullet and do some AFK. It's not really cheating anyway, since lightning is a RNG base mechanic.
They should add a secret change where lighting hitting one of the stone that you can obtain makes a temporary lava. That'll give you even more reason to sit around waiting.
This was an epic concept! I made my own which turned out pretty awesome. Bravo & great job 👏
Hate to see it end u have done an amazing job in this world
The next time people say "the wandering trader is useless" just remember they help you in challenges like this where things are limited so the wandering trader is your best friend right there
Have been watching the super flat from the start sad to see the end of the series but it was fun to watch every video in the series can’t wait see what crazy mega project toycat comes up with next
It's surprising how long you've done this! I would've gave up like on day 3
16:48 You can get bricks in a super flat, but like most things in this challenge, it's pretty tedious. You need Dripstone from the wandering trader, and then you can drip the water out of the mud, creating a clay block.
This is a good idea but there's no way of crafting a furnace in super flat. I think one possible way of getting bricks is by trading with a stonemason villager if one happens to spawn from a cured zombie villager. Even if this works though there's no way of getting a stone cutter to renew the trades. So building out of bricks would be very impractical but it is theoretically possible
Can’t smelt the clay But you can get them from a stone mason villager if you get lucky enough to turn a zombie villager into a stone mason
@@Rynntastic01 you can make a stone cutter in bedrock with polished granite or diorite which is sold by the stone mason
@@Rynntastic01 really, check my community where I got every type of mason on day 600+
you can get ice if water is being placed high enough maybe not in plains biome (i know it works in taiga) and it needs to snow in order for the water source to turn into ice
Yeah, superflat with no structures, has two areas where the RNG is just crippling. Getting some sort of oak tree and getting lightning. As you said, weather mechanic needs an overhaul. As for oak, just have the option to ensure that the bonus chest is guaranteed to spawn with a normal oak sapling or maybe even add saplings as a drop to the zombie's loot table. Heck, they could even add a new hostile mob, like ents. Anyways, if you decide to afk. Make sure you have hoppers under those pigs, so that you don't lose the drops.
Great point with the hoppers
Im a long time bedrock player, with an obscure bug to add. I was waiting for a storm like you so i could have brown cow. My gf logged into the realm and is excited for me cus its STORMING. On my screen it was not raining or storming! I make her use her riptide trident in front of me, and for my own curiosity i lit myself on fire, which did not get put out by the "invisible" storm. This was on a realm, tho id personally bet that doesnt matter. This is just another added layer of complexity lol, whatever bugs a storm may be player dependant
If make a drowned farm, you can get a trident. If you get a villager which is selling a book of channeling I believe, you can enchant the trident with it and turn pigs into zombie piglins during rain
When you drown zombies they can’t have tridents even though I think they should
@@davids-adventure makes sense
That makes sense about the delay from the excess animals im not sure about how to not become hassled by it. Maybe if the pig farm was built on the height limit platform and there was a rail system to ride up quickly during the storm because the proximity of the player to the number of redstone ticks? This has been interesting
Lightning doesn't strike that high tho
One of the greatest Minecraft series comes to an end. It shall be missed.
I remember watching the first streams 🥺I had so much free time back then, well it was an interesting and buggy journey 💯
I love the superflat live streams so so very much. But if it's not fun for you anymore, it won't be fun to us either. Cheers!
It will be back! Just gotta wait for some fresh content to wait with :)
In order to convert the pigs, wait until it's raining and use a channelling trident from drowned converter and librarian. Hope this works Toycat
I just managed to get my first villager. I've only had 2 successful lightning storms (there were others, but none of them struck my pigs), and didn't get enough gold from the first storm. The second (plus what i got from the first) gave me enough for two golden apples, but my bonus chest only gave me 1 apple and birch saplings. So now I wait for a wandering trader to give me oak or dark oak saplings for my apple needs. Now I really hope I can get a fletcher to give me the weakness arrows (I did not convert a fletcher, my first villager is a happy fisherman) to avoid dealing with a witch like that more times than necessary.
You convinced me to start my own world so I’m doing it now
Ibxtoycat: leaves world Weather 0,000001 seconds later: thunder =)
Unless something changed recently you can get red brick in bedrock super flat. You have to change a zombie villager back to villager and hope to get a stone mason. Then you can use one of their trades, polished granite or diorite, to make a stone cutter. Only on bedrock version.
But villagers spawn as jobless? The Mason job block requires stone.
@@hello-ji7qjregular villagers spawned in villages are jobless but zombie villagers, even if not from a villaage. can spawn with a job, only if they eventually realize they dont have a job block or have been traded with, they turn baxk to jobless villagers. combining this mechanic with hotv also gets you lava if you are lucky enough to get the right villager.
@@infernoblast261 there are no lava trades
@@uhohhotdog not lava trades no, but when you have hero of the village. villagers throw items at you that you normally cant buy from them, one of those items is lava.

17:58 I think it sounds funny out of context
I was really expecting (and hoping) for a comment on housefires at the end.
I was trying to do that but I give up but I might do that again in the future
So note to self- superflat will involve overnight AFK... and maybe consider front-loading the pigs and lightning rod situation
Me and my son play flat but we have a short amount of time to fill one chest each and then go to survival and see what you can build. Theres always something you wish you'd added lol
I cant help but to think the lightning wouldn't spawn because of all the pigs. Not even sure if lighting is an entity, even if it isn't maybe the lag from all the pigs made it to unlikely for the lightning to occur or something. Anyways this series / project / world was cool and fun to watch.
The sad thing about this, is that we'll probably never be able to go to the Nether. Since Mojang already added renewable lava, they're not going to add more ways to get lava. It's a shame unless you NBT edit your world to give yourself a lava bucket. 😔
Sadness. I love this series.
Use Minecraft realms to copy the world over to your phone and then AFK that until it rains and then copy that world back onto your Xbox or PC
dont give up you can expand the area a bit more breed more villagers expand the melon farm and more, tip pull of reverse phycology that aways works for me when i dont find diamonds i just say i give up and i gonna look for some other ore but than i keep finding diamonds lol so u can try by saying i dont want lighting and than a few days later (ig days/in game days) and than lighting well happen or it might happen but who knows that might only work for me
Man I feel bad about the lightning thing. I play Minecraft along with listening to him and I got so many thunderstorms while he was waiting on it
Have a second window with you afk in superflat while you play other worlds in your main window.
Build a hopper floor for the pigs then go AFK with smallest render distance setting for max lightning accuracy. That way if the lightning kills the pig men it collects the gold
What if your pig fluid experiment broke the thunder timer somehow? Is there a way to look at the world's data to confirm the weather is working correctly?
Fun fact: right after ToyCat left the superflat world while it was raining, it lightninged 69 times straight. All the pigs made 69 gold ingots. 😂
Your videos never stop improving
It would be nice to see you play a series of your own ultra flat survival world.
Lightning frequency increases the longer you go without sleeping. Don't sleep if you want lightning. I play on a couple realms with one player sleep where it seems like we get lightning every time it rains. OPS only resets the timer for the player who slept. All the other players still cause lightning.
You can upload this world to marketplace like you have with your update adventures
If you make the world biome "tiaga" you don't need a bonus chest
maybe the absurd amount of pigs is preventing lighting?
Hey I play on a realm with friends on console and the only time it thunderstorms is when the phantoms first show up after x days without sleeping. I hope this was help full!
Now this a challenge and a half!
I am really surprised that Tridents have not been proposed more widely as a solution to this issue. Meaning that you would need natural lighting once to get villagers but once having them you could trade for the Channeling enchantment and work to "unlock lighting" whenever it rains. I understand that Tridents only drop from naturally generated drowned so you cannot get them in this game mode but if any drowned had a small chance to drop a Trident even if they are not holding one the whole thing would come together.
That used to be the case in Bedrock a few years ago, but that won't work either, because Channeling requires lighting to be happing as well.
@@techy804 Oh you learn something new everyday. I thought it worked with any rain. Thanks!
You can actually do a flatworld survival run without starting with oak or dark oak, but it will just take very long, because you can get emeralds from pillager patrols that spawn occasionally and then you can get oak or dark oak from a wandering trader!
You can only get emeralds from Vindicators and Vindicators don't spawn in Pillager Patrols
@@techy804 oh, that appears to be have been changed and I didn’t know, thanks for letting me know
Goodbye Superflat Survival series :(
Huh, interesting fact about thunder
Thunderstorms are so annoying now they are infrequent and last enough time for 1 bolt and it ends.
Hey Toycat, I think the next minecraft update is going to be the Update Lost, it fits the letter count and is accurate because the bamboo wood should have been here when it bamboo was released. And the sniffer and archaeology are ancient so Update Lost. Thoughts and Opinions?
Just remember, this is not an airport.
Make a mob farm, create a semi deep room filled with water, lure zombies into watery doom, wait for drowned, wait for a trident to appear on drowned, kill drowned and obtain trident, get channeling on trident, combine trident with lightening rod and rain..tada!
The density of pigs created a black hole that distorts time-space-framerate curvature!
was that a big the cat skin? i love it..
Here a sugestion for the pigs that will only work if zombie pigmen dont dispawn if lightning strikes a pig with a nametag: Instead of putting all the pigs in one small area, spread the pigs with nametags around your world, so when lightning comes, instead of needing to fall in one specific place, it can fall on any of the pigs that are all over the place
minecraft should disable lightning if you dont have a lightning rod then have the current chance if one is placed in your world and double the current if any more
I would think that lightning always strikes the highest point so you should have put the pigs on a platform above anything else with a lightning rod in the middle of the pen. Don't sleep in the game, as that tends to make things turn nastier everyday and soon enough lightning will strike. Maybe several pig pens with lightning rods all over so no mater where the lighting strikes it will be drawn to the rod by some pigs? Maybe worth one more shot...
Sorry to see this series is ending for now, but I agree with the decision. If it's no longer entertaining for you, then there is no point in doing it. The fans will see your decline in enjoyment and they wont enjoy it as much as a result, so even doing it just to please the fans wouldn't work. Either way, you are great at creating entertaining content, so I am sure whatever comes next for the journey will be entertaining as well.
Do you still miss it? Cuz I do :(
Toycat, you should build a shrine to the god of lightning and sacrifice something to get lightning!
0:57 I like how the title has no gradient consistency. The "how" has no gradient, "any" has the upside down gradient. It's pretty funny
I believe... you could... theoretically... Create a giant water mob farm... wait for Drowned to spawn... get a trident... get a villager trade for Channeling book... put the enchant on trident... and BOOOOM... you can summon lightning exactly where you want it? you might still need a Thunderstorm but it would pass the time, and once it rolls in you won't miss out on pig conversion... you could also seperate your pigs which may reduce the lag... as you could have them dotted all over and just go use the channelling trident section by section?
Only naturally spawned drowned have tridents and they don't spawn in a flat world anyway so rip
@@garnetalexandros2356 I feel like you could make a big farm to spawn them naturally but it would be a huge project without kelp to create source blocks - would be easy to test in a creative world... big square cube of water with a roof covering
@@deebea6364 Drowned only spawn naturally in ocean or river biomes and you don't have those in flat worlds. If mojang had kept the biome information in the map then you could potentially use chunk base to find a suitable area and make a pond there as you suggest but it's currently not possible unfortunately. Btw I believe that there's a market place map by DanRobzProbz that kinda does this but it's skyblock. It also retains the spawning spots from structures like witch huts and ocean monuments even though the structures themselves have been deleted. It would have been good if mojang had done something similar for flatworlds tbh
SUPER NICE
Bricks can be gotten from villager trades
I love your videos
I'm curious if something like ianxofour's voidless void trading build would work in bedrock. Would make trades with villagers whose workstations can't be crafted easier
I wish zombie reinforcements were a thing in bedrock, copper farms would be awesome
It’s been fun
Most of those pigs need to go. Clearly there is an arithmetic overflow in the code when you are near the pigs. So.. probably impossible for lightning to strike unless you are far away from your pigs
Agreed. Since I was playing on mobile, I got severe lag with 100-200 pigs so didn't breed more. I had my pigs just a little outside of simulation distance from my base so that I could rush there when lighting did strike but not otherwise be affected by lag, didn't have any issues getting lightning strikes but it did limit me on how much gold I could make each time.
I want to see a mushroom mansion.

1.20 is called the trails and tails update
Oh my.
I'm glad it's over I avoided it because it wasn't interesting to me. I would love to see you start a new let's play world.
Lightning there’s too many thanks for the game to handle
Don't you think the ammount of pigs might be stopping lightnings from hitting?
Trident with lightning enchantments
It has gone further then i thourght it would
I can’t believe that all of this can be achieved with no cobblestone generator
On Java, I think you could get bricks in a superflat, because mason villagers will throw clay at you when you complete a raid, as a gift. I think
On bedrock you also can get from cured villages, they'll transform into one of 14 type of jobs, including mason. Then trade polished block (andesite/granite/diorite) to craft stonecutter to get infinite mason. That way you get steady supply of brick block.
If too many pigs break the game and reverses time could it be fiddling with lightning as well?
Ok but can you leave tips on what u actually learned on super flat so that others can excell forward
