  • Sir the mistake the person did is he made a direct eye contact with the dog. That generated the feel of challenge and the canine instinct of guarding and chase. Moreover the person's hand was just at the muzzle which most of the canines won't like. This rottweiler requires more socialising as he got a hard temperament. Get him on leash take him out to parks or a walk.

    • Rottweiler are not always very fond of strangers. Moreover, not every dog welcomes being patted by a stranger. This dog just got irritated. The dog is kept under the sun and he is drooling heavily. He is not a happy dog and on the top of it, a stranger irritated him by patting him on his head.

    @SGKeiana@SGKeiana Жыл бұрын
    • Eye contact from another perceived alpha isn't recommended, especially if you're not part of their pack (family). I had a huge rottweiler family dog and we could wrestle with him, look him directly in the eyes, pet him, cuddle him, whatever we wanted. He was friendly with people, but a friend of mine was always nervous because of his size and he always reacted, not in a bitey way, but a lot of barking and posturing. Some people have that nervous energy and it puts dogs on edge.

      @pragyamanral@pragyamanral Жыл бұрын
    • The Rottweiler tolerated the petting for a limited time. Rubbing a strange dog’s head doesn’t provide comfort to the dog but it’s done to make the person feel good about himself. Dogs have the intelligence of a child 2 to 3 years of age. The child had more intelligence than the adult but was himself to close to this dog. Knowledge is power, ignorance can be painful.

  • Also they need to understand that was just a warning. I've seen my great grandparents rottweilers jump gates that had to be at least 7 ft high. My rottweiler (borne from them) would jump our navel height fence if she got too excited about a squirrel teasing her. Zero hesitation. the top of our fence was metal ends she would have zero scars or scratches. The neighborhood kids would sometimes bring her back (she got too happy sniffing around the neighborhood) and she would be the sweetest little puddle of pooch. You would never guess she was a guard dog. We did make sure to socialize her tho. If the pup really wanted to hurt him he woulda been hurt. And on his side of the fence.

  • This happened because strangers should not touch dogs head from the top and should touch or scratch on his chest or lower lips. If your touching from the top the dog doesn’t have a proper vison on what your doing and will attack. On this case the dog felt like cornered since the dog is standing close to a wall and the boy cornered the dog from the top

This situation is normal enough since the guy was a stranger but proper trained security rottweilers wouldn't let a stranger go near them lol they couldn't even get close they go straight into attack/defeat mode
