You left out video editor
I don’t think I’ve ever been made to feel quite so completely inadequate as an adult human, as I did when I watched this video. Amazing work as ever and thanks for a very enjoyable way to spend 2 hours of my Sunday morning.
Soy
We all can do this if we take our time, don’t be in a hurry and tamp down our OCDs
I often become fascinated with simple things like clouds or even lines of ants. This series is like watching a god work magic. 🥹😊
I would go as far as to say the same Mr. GingerPiston. 😳🥸
You have other skills, I'm shure....
When I started watching this series I realized early in the first episode that you were making a CNC machine and I kept asking myself, "is he crazy?". Well, you are not crazy. You are a talented craftsman with knowledge in so many fields and a engineer's mind. Bravo.
I am not sure what I am more impressed by, you being able to make this machine or you being able to record, edit and assemble a two hour 'silent' movie which held my attention from beginning to the very end. Both are astonishing pieces of work.
No kidding Just an aside our names are eerily similar
9km,
here here
Just turned on the ol' KZhead and this started playing and couldn't stop watching, awesome job and great video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Been a great was to spend my Sunday chilling
Two hours full of joy without a single word. Outstanding engineering!
and no music!

True !
@@matthewpower3062 And True !
the SILENCE in your workshop is just priceless. priceless! so is your craftsmanship. one of a kind.
I do not think I have ever been more impressed by one mans range of skills! It's been a true pleasure to watch you build this fabulous machine, and you have amazed me over and over by how you have gone about building it. From using a bench grinder mounted on the machine, to help build the machine, the sheer precision you have achieved throughout, and to all of the skills you have used along the way. Woodworking, machining, pneumatics, electrical etc, etc. Just setting up a VFD gets me pulling my air out! A really amazing build. And then you topped it off with the vacuum clamping system, I was not even aware it was possible to pull enough air like that through MDF. I do not think I have ever been more impressed. Just fantastic.
💯
bonjour juste dire la même chose
Nice 👍 I have no words to describe him … just amazing guy
As this series drew to a close I was getting more and more convinced that I was witnessing the return of the Messiah captured in HD somewhere in Yorkshire. Bravo sir. Bravo.
Well, I have to ask, is there anything you can't do? Holy moly your engineering, woodworking, electrical, plumbing, and everything else is, OMG, wow! That is a beautiful piece of machinery. This series was so much fun to watch. I honestly was surprised that 2 hrs went by. Thanks, mate for sharing this with us. Can't wait to see what comes out of your workshop now.
Shaving maybe? But the beard is badass so it's OK! :D
Hairdressing.
I love how you use the machine, at various stages, to build further parts of the machine. True RepRap!
Well… I’ve just spent the last couple of days when I could watching parts 1, 2 & 3 of this build… You are one truly talented chap… I’m genuinely looking forward to watching all of your content… Love the kitchen build and the front door too… Thanks for creating the content..👍🏻
Unlike watching the news or Netflix, watching this series of videos left me feeling better rather than worse. So, I cancelled a bunch of streaming services and online news sites, logged onto Patreon, and became a patron to this superb master.
Absolutely incredible work from start to finish, and such a detailed, well produced video. Thank you!
Absolutely incredible, Russ! Probably one of, if not the best build I've ever seen on KZhead. Just jaw-dropping work.
just finished watching the whole thing and I would agree... probably the best video I've seen on KZhead. Pure awesomeness.
Matt Jones: I agree
I've got to agree with that. As someone that doesn't pay a TV licence in the UK &, subsequently never watches TV, I've seen hundreds of builds of just about anything but this bloke..............WOW!!!
@@krenwregget7667I just wanted you down
I think we all need to acknowledge what this video series truly is: "KZhead Perfection" Let me count the ways... 1) TITLE: catches my attention, but doesn't mislead me. It doesn't reveal what the actual project is but that just maintains an aire of mystery that draws me in. I don't feel like this was clickbait, and I don't feel tricked into watching something I would have otherwise skipped. In fact, I feel it was a smart way to keep me captivated. 2) LACK OF COMMENTARY: Weather it be a language barrier or not, the brief captions beneath key moments were perfect for me. Just enough detail to add something I wouldn't have picked up on from just watching. 3) UNIQUE PROJECT: This was truly a project I wouldn't normally ever be able to witness from start to finish like this so it was compelling content to say the least. 4) EDITING PACE: Shear editing perfection here! Just enough mundane tasks to grasp the scope but not bore me. I never once felt the need to step up the speed of the video (which I almost always wind up doing). In this case, I felt the pace of all 6 hours of content was just fast enough to keep me informed but not waste my time. Hell, my jaw was starting to hurt from all the smiling I was doing just watching this come together! 5) SKILL: While I did appreciate all the times you showed your mistakes and how you overcame them, I never once felt like I was watching some rank amateur fumbling around trying to figure things out. Sure, sometimes those are entertaining to watch as well, but this content was a pure pleasure to watch due to your skill, experience, and competency all the way from beginning to end. Bravo! 6) TECHNICAL VIDEO SKILL: From lighting, camera placement, and even sound capture... perfection! No bad shadows, nothing out of focus unintentionally, best choice of focal lengths and field of view, no overbearing sudden loud sounds where if I were watching this and trying to be quiet, I would have offended anyone (I can't tell you how often that happens to me and it is very frustrating). The fact that there was absolutely NOTHING in the entire 6 hours of content that stood out to me as a mistake, or lack of good judgement when it came to the production of this content is not very easy to pull off. Coming from a cinematographer, you have earned high praise. 7) GRADUAL REVEAL: Like the intentional vague title, the fact that you slowly reveal the full scope of the project, is compelling. I HAD to watch the entire series to fully grasp what it all entailed -and I never felt like I was in any way tricked into doing this without some sort of payoff for my time. This was an absolute joy to witness and regret not a single second of time spent consuming this content. And that is not generally something I would say even for channels I like! I give you a standing ovation for this effort. I can't imagine how long this took to put together both before and after shooting. I am grateful to have found it and you have earned a subscriber for damn sure! FANTASTIC WORK HERE!!
A true renaissance man. All I could think of when the machine started up was, "More power Igor!"
I love it when there’s a new video from NYW. Usually, I can keep up with what is being done, I understand, I could never do it myself, I don’t have the patience, the skill or some of the tools. But this series has had me mesmerised, I know what the end product is to be, but the process is so complex, I wouldn’t know where to start, how to plan or even source the materials. It’s the most fascinating watch of any of the channels I subscribe to. The exacting way the work is done, problems are solved, parts are created is an education, I can’t tear myself away from the screen until it’s finished. And what a finish, that table is awesome, a work of art if you like. I can’t wait for the next one, thank you for making us happy NYW.
You didn't mention the recycled/repurposed materials he used! Stunning!
I watched part 1 along time ago and thought that’s a great work bench table and then today I saw part 3 come up so I started right from the beginning and I’ve just finished now. I’ve got one word mate , unbelievable!!!. Your knowledge blows me away. Thanks for an unforgettable afternoon watching a very skilled person 👏🙏😊
Over 2 hours and I could have happily sat and watched another two. That is a fantastic machine, and Wood Nibbler 30000001XL is just class. Great job.
I am a retired 30 year industrial maintenance technician. Very impressive. I love your attention to detail.
Your work is nothing short of outstanding the attention to detail is unsurpassed, I wouldn't be surprised if you made a time machine in your next video !!!

This has been my longest time watching a craftsman at work on youtube. Man, what a huge amount of work and what a quality of work. Compliments with this marvelous achiefment. P.S. I didn't skip a second, great way of documenting your work.
same 😅
I'm feeling very inadequate! Your woodworking/metalworking/electrical/and CNC-building skills are ridiculously awesome!
Im so glad you kept your wife happy that ceiling job 🤭it keeps her out of the work shop
Great movie.👍👍 Now you've found out why Allen keys are bent at right angles. Its so when( not if) they drop on the floor they deflect sideways and end up under a bench 😂😂 Now I've watched the whole episode I've gotta say I'm completely blown away by the sheer quality of your workmanship. The electrical installation was absolutely spot on as was everything else 😮 👍👍👍
Not sure where you live Doug, but here in Australia EVERYTHING you drop ends up under a bench. And not just any bench, the bench furthest away and where you only look as a last resort after you spent 10 mins looking under the others . Maybe because we are so far away from magnetic north, I don't know. Best wishes. 😃😄👍
@@geoffedwards189 Hi Geoff. 😂 Ive spent my whole career grubbing on the floor looking for things that have mysteriously gravitated away from my grubby little paws for no apparent reason here in the UK. I was home sick today and I binge watched all three parts of this and I am exhausted, amazed, and feeling like everything I've ever built was just a birdhouse.

A one man Symphony Orchestra ! Inspiring and entertaining.Motivating, educating & humbling. Sincere thanks!!
It's fun to watch a perfectionist at work. All three tables worked excellently “together”. Thank.
I've seen some ambitious and amazing projects manufactured on KZhead over the years. From beautiful guitars made out of a shelf to domestic hydroelectric systems. And as I'm pretty useless at making anything apart from a mess, I might be easily impressed. But, this thing takes the absolute biscuit. Just the thought behind designing and how to go about building it is breathtaking, nevermind the skills and processes needed to actually make the entire thing, practically from scratch. KZhead should give you some kind of award.
I can't add anything new that hasn't already been said about your workshop skill and craftsmanship. What I can commend you on is the hours you've put in editing these videos. you're an absolute warrior.
This might be the best KZhead project I've ever seen.
I have no word, first sorry for my bad english but, I would like to say you how this kind of experience, watching these three videos, was better than the entire star wars trilogy. You are an extraordinary technician, and watching you work is incredible. I can only say: Bravissimo, davvero un lavoro stupendo! Micky (from Italy)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stunning peace of craftsmanship, judging by how fast your beard grows I'm guessing we will not recognise you by the time your next epic video comes out... popcorn at the ready 🍿👍

I thought I was multi-skilled until I watched the whole of this build. I’m a country mile off. So much skill, intelligence and knowledge. Carpentry, lots of various engineering skills and metal work. The project is an absolute credit to you. So good you should win some kind of award for it.
Well, I’m impressed … really impressed. You are a renaissance man indeed: engineer, woodworker, machinist, electronics guru, programmer, and far more. Sigh …
I am in absolute awe. I have NEVER seen such a high level in workmanship in so many different disciplines. I am considered a pretty good jack of all trades, but I bow down to you... :-)
Absolutely incredible your knowledge and craftmanship is. Not only building this machine, but making this video. No music, no endless chatter to multiple cameras (as people seem to do now) No pointless music. Just show us how it's done. Thank you. From Tasmania.
Great! Ideal for making watch parts. Be careful not to crash this rig or you could knock the earth off its axis.
I spend entire afternoon to watch all 3 parts of this assembly. I admire your patients to do this. Greetings from Bavaria - Germany
Has to be one of the most talented individuals on KZhead.
Easily one of the best channels on KZhead! Russ is an amazing craftsman and watching him work is a true pleasure. This entire series was phenomenal. The little quips crack me up! I look forward to every video.
I have now watched - don't know - 6 hours? of this build series in more or less one piece (Covid, you know...) and I have to say: This is the most epic CNC story I have ever seen. Hats off to you, I bow down to the master. You, Sir, are a very capable craftsman.
Watching this man building something like this, he just reminded me the fact that "Men build this world and the cities and suburbs which we live in and operate on a daily basis..." He is inspirational and watching his 6hrs videos is just sheer viewing pleasure!
at first i asked myself, "self, how is he going to spend 20 quid on a cnc router making it out of wood?" but then i saw where you were putting the majority of your money and what systems you have in place and it all made sense. as much sense as my puny mind can absorb, anyway. i understand the challenge you are going through, as i am about six months into building a cnc mill. i'm at the point of mounting servos and wiring and as you already know, it's a daunting task. great build, gave me so many ideas on how to finish some of the systems on my machine, and for that, i thank you.
I watched this in both awe and in three sittings! One thing I didn’t understand was that 48 seconds after this video was posted, people were commenting on the quality of the video production! 😀 Stunning work. I’m always impressed by your approach to problem solving, and the quality of your work. Thanks for sharing.
I'm speechless! Whatever you undertake, you realize it with such an astonishing skill, precision and patience. WOW!
Not sure how many are like me, scouring through, every single past video, anticipating in the new, anxiously.. just for the comedic gold.. 😆😆😆 captions genius this boss is..
Without a doubt the best project I've ever seen, not only on KZhead. EPIC!
Watching where you used the pillar drill to true up the tap and I actually said out loud "You clever bugger!" Nice to pick up tips like that. The whole project is a thing of beauty
I spent the last 2 days watching this machine take shape from drawings to end product. I watched with particular attention to the process as we will be prototyping a new design of our own from mid January 2023 and this shows me that perseverance and patience pays off. I love your videos and your attention to detail and perfection is awe inspiring. Have a great holiday season and a prosperous 2023.
So rare to find multi talented people with this sort of passion and patience these days especially working alone impressive.
Perfekt, das zeigt uns wieder das ein Mensch mit Wissen und Können mehr kann als nur sinnlos zu zerstören. Das ist das absolut sinnvolle am Mensch . Respekt !
Without doubt, the most comprehensive and incredibly well planned/designed build of a CNC machine/table I've seen. Absolutely mindblowing. My only gripe is the vid was only 2hrs and 8 minutes long. Incredible mate 👍
There are always Part 1 & Part 2 to rewatch!
@@GrayRaceCat To be honest, I've watched many of the vids on this channel repeatedly. I'm sure I'll watch this again at some stage 😀

Good afternoon, as by chance I came across the first part of this series of 3 videos, on the construction of this machine. As my whole family is carpenters, I am perfectly familiar with this type of machine and therefore how complex they are. I have been stunned watching the entire series of how each and every one of the steps for its construction has been developed. It's you a genius, mastering different parts of the construction phase to perfection. The only thing left for me is to give you my most sincere congratulations and I insist it is you. a true genius. Receive my most affectionate greetings and thank you very much for showing us this excellent work.
It's nice to see that you make mistakes too. And then they're not even cut out of the video. Your videos are just great. With your kind something soothing.
Truely one of the best - if not the best - How its made videos on the internet!. A must see for any technically interested person. A whole pneumatic system, watercooling, vacuum sucktion, dust extraction, each topic a discipline of its own. Thanks for sharing this!
Amazing, absolutely amazing. I am in awe of your range of skills and knowledge - not forgetting your photography and editing ability. 2 hours of captivating amazingness.
The combination of talent, ingenuity and creativity in this video series is so top drawer it's painful!
The best build series on KZhead. I am a very meticulous engine builder but your attention to detail is second to none. Truly impressive work. The range of skills you possess is envious.
I’ve watched the other parts without actually realizing what this was gonna be. 😂 I will watch the end of this one for the result. I’m here specifically for the old home renovation project.
If you skipped to the end you've missed out!
We wouldn’t want that, so now I went through the video very quickly. It’s an superawesome, extremely desirable machine, even for a simple DIYer like myself. I hope to see this machine back in upcoming renovation project videos 😊
Halfway through part 2 I could guess what it was going to be, but watching part 1 was definitely perplexing. "Yeah that's a damn sturdy table you've build there, but what on earth is it going to be used for??"
@@112Haribo haha, exactly my thoughts!
An absolute joy to watch. You are so talented mate. What next? Russ starts his own space program.
Epic, indeed! This series of 3 builds has held me captivated while the latest "blockbusters" had me pausing repeatedly to do something else. You are a true modern Renaissance man, Russ!
You hit the nail on the head there Brian, I would pause if I had to walk away for a moment, for fear imight miss a small witty caption, whereas w8th most movies, I would just leave it playing and not care if I missed a scene. We are truly lucky to have access to these masters as they work.

I always was interested by your builds but this episode is on another level ! Really impressive 👍
Well damn, isn’t this whole journey the making of a work of art? What an absolute pleasure to have seen this all come together in your own very special style. I love this channel, I love your work, it’s my escape knowing I couldn’t hit a nail in, let alone any of this. So watching vicariously through you is a little bit of joy. Brilliant work!!

This is the most insane build it has ever been my incredulous joy to watch. To conceive of, design, plan, budget, procure and build such an astonishing project is truly humbling. A machine that, when half finished, finishes building itself 🤣
Definitely need an A-Team build montage theme music for your vids. 😄 The subtitles are my favourite.
This is an astonishing piece of craftsmanship. I’m certain it will be a huge asset to your future projects and to the profitability of your business. Congratulations.
All respect for this Project! It's mind boggling which crafts you are all master. I bow to you
Epic. Thank you for filming and posting this. A feature length movie that no-one else in my family will understand..... bliss.

This was an astonishing build. From the moment you started on those huge table legs (which were a great build in their own right), it just got more and more complex and fascinating. I had no idea, way back when watching the first video, what this would turn out to be. No doubt this will influence and enhance all of your future projects, which I'm sure we're all looking forward to!
Its amazing what you can get done in an afternoon if you put your mind to it 😂 seriously though, I just calibrated my table saw, was sort of happy with myself, watched this and am now making my way to the local quarry to bang rocks together and make grunting sounds
LOL, I'm already there
Part way through watching this after binge watching the other 2,and had to giggle at you saying how easy your laser cutter was to assemble,I'm sure the Hadron Collider would seem simple after this mammoth build! 😂😂😂 excellent work, crazy attention to detail, and just the right amount of humour without it being silly, loved this series of videos xx
WOW! Mate, you are pure genius. Must admit I was scratching my head during episode 1. Never seen anyone put so much detail and effort into building a "workbench base". All makes sense now. Bravo!
This is the first video I've watched on your channel and I got to say I'm more than impressed. I'm an mechanical engineer and a trained industrial mechanik myself. But I'm not sure I I could build something like that. I'm sure it took a lot of planning and testing. I'm very impressed with the electrical and programming work you id. I've been planning and building machines for a long time now but I've never seen so much wood integrated in one. We mostly use aluminum and steel. Keep up the great work my guy :) Greetings from Germany (Sorry if my english isn't perfect I had to Google some stuff but I hope you guys get me)
Simply an amazing series. Well done mate. You deserve to enjoy putting a lot of jobs through that machine.
When This Old Tony comes for you, and he will, you have only yourself to blame. It's nothing personal.
I actually went and watched the second part again before watching this one. 😊 The last time I was so excited about a movie release was when the new dune came out. An epic work indeed. I enjoy very much watching you work. You're videos radiant calmness patience and tons of talent. There's something reassuring and comforting watching talented men and women as you're self work. And the end product is ridiculously amazing. The amount of thought and attention to details. Amazing.
I'm truly amazed by this epic journey, i'm following you since the beginning of all your video's so i knew a bit of what kind perfection i was expecting, but for this video i'm taking my hat off sir, a true jack of all trades and a master of everything!
This is truly amazing. Would you be able to give a breakdown of your cost versus buying one? All the best!
I am also interestet. DIY vs buying.
In the event of a an apocalypse you get my vote for the spare bunker spot!
As someone wo builds gantry style CNC routers for a living I must say you've done an absolutely amazing job this build. Certainly you've done it the hard way without any cnc machines to do the machining but it really looks like a solid built using quality components.
Fantastic work. Awesome video. Truly epic! Both humbling and inspiring to watch.

@@NewYorkshireWorkshop I'll echo what the others have said - this was a mind blowing build - very impressive. Did you keep a running tally of parts costs as you went along? Would be very curious to know what this scale of machine costs from scratch. Cheers, Craig
"That's not windows" - the moment I HAD TO subscribe! Very very good work. I'm impressed.
New to the channel and I watched all 4+ hours of video on this build. As many have mentioned the engineering and all your other skills are impressive. You know you’re doing something right when strangers will spend hours watching you build something in silence. What was interesting was I clicked just bc I was curious as to what that huge frame was for and ended up being captured by the build. I could probably draw a rough schematic of it now. Very entertaining for me. I’d love to see the b roll with all the bloopers and a counter for Allen keys dropped.
Pop over to America and fix NASA's Artemis One rocket, seeing as you're obviously the reincarnation of Nicola Tesla I'm sure they'd appreciate the help. 😁😁

The "MASSIVE heavy duty table" video was my introduction to your channel. Since then, I have gone back and watched every video you have. Feels like a long wait for this video, but absolutely worth it! I've been savouring this video over the last few days. Watching 20 minutes here, 20 minutes there with a cup of tea/coffee each time. Such a satisfying project to watch come together. So many elements and areas of expertise that so many others have commented on already. I found myself out of my depth very quickly on this one, but was immensely impressed and awestruck with the range of skills, abilities and knowledge you have. I'm sure this bit of kit will open up a number of options for you. Can't wait to see what the next project is, but would love to see some more of the home renovation jobs. I've gone back and rewatched a few of those videos multiple times.
In the 1960's I built a Thunderbirds Base by watching Blue Peter, my family were sooooo impressed with my skills........I've just thrown it in the bin.
1:59:28 "It doubles the air pressure using science" For all those wondering, the pressure booster is a purely mechanical device with two pistons of the same diameter on the same concentric rod. This allows for twice the pressure to be exerted on the rod, which is also providing the output pressure. So, you can get NEARLY up to twice the pressure (regulated to anything up to that value) since there are losses due to friction and port timing. Of course, noting is free so you do lose half the volume in the translation. No pneumatic systems are not unlike hydraulic systems except that they are more dangerous since gases are compressible. It is mechanical, so it's not intended for high volume applications. In this case, there was no need for a large reservoir as the cfm of the tool-change pneumatics is quite small.
