Sabine getting stabbed with a lightsaber in the Ahsoka show has raised a lot of questions, more specifically…
"Do lightsabers even work anymore?"
"Did Qui Gon die for nothing?"
In this video we look at how many people have gotten stabbed by a lightsaber and how many of them survive. It puts into perspective how abnormal it is to survive as easily as sabine did and with such little consequences. Plot armor. Now stop reading the description and watch the video so you can tell me what you think when you're done!

Point of the video aside, Satine’s death still hits like a ton of bricks 😭
I know 😭
That arc is so good. WE NEED THE OBIWAN, Quijon, and Satine on the run when Obi was a padawan. 5 years on the run keeping her safe in the Mandolore system. Perfect starwars with a love story. oh my.
I was so confused who Staine was, you mean Satine?
All I needed was the edit of Emotional Damage!!! being thrown in there for shits and giggles
😭
It goes from emotional deaths to literally having the character survive because of "Plot Armor"
Plot armor > literally anything that can kill someone/something
@@metal_fusionyeah she should of died to vader but the WBW saved her
3:53 Even freaking gods die from a lightsaber stab but sabine ends up being just fine
That's an excellent point
You can really notice where lightsabers stopped being deadly weapons
You know people in real life have survived being shot? I would still consider guns deadly weapons.
There is a difference between a half inch diameter hole in your gut and a 3 inch burn through your whole body, melting organs
Around the OWK show is where it starts being just insulting tbh
@@jacehackworth6413 You know most bullets are not stuck inside you for several seconds while burning as hot as a star, boiling your blood and damaging very critical organs by the heat alone?
@@1.-ulysses334I mean if lightsabers were that realistic, Qui-Gon should have died instantly and not had dramatic last words. People should just explode.
I forgot how brutal some episodes of the clone wars were
Especially the lightsaber stabs. The characters that got stabbed tense up and I guess go into shock.
Umbara man. Dicing more than a blender
RIP Colt for getting the "Kiss of Death" Treatment during the battle of Kamino
“What he was going to blow up the ship” Best line Anikin ever said
Starting to notice a pattern, the more recent (chronologically to our timeline) the more likely they are to survive. Honestly Kylo looks like he would have died, perfect end to his character, Reva survived 2 stab wounds somehow. Literal Force Gods, die with one stab. Are the kybercrystals getting weaker or something because they don't look like they are going right through the stabbed, it looks like there is some resistance.
these are some best buy quality cristals man
The crystals aren’t weaker, the writers are
What I got from this is the only time we see anyone stabbed center of mass and live is in Kenobi and all of you are so butt hurt over it that you get triggered when Sabine gets stabbed in her side and gets immediate medical help.
@@deepseacocoon cold
Maul survived being cut in half, and the force gods died from one stab. So how does your logic apply there
Something to add on the sabine stab scene: Bacta cuves are a thing. Luke was immersed in one of them because he was "only" slam by a yeti-like creature on the face (and probably cold injuries) but Sabine got on a medical bed for her melting organs ?
i think it's mostly because sabine's injury was simply on one place, luke got slammed around probably scratched badly and had more than probably frostbite which recquired full body treatment
And practical side, companies have to pay actors more for getting in water and such. So star wars introduced bacta sprays instead.
@@Dogburt_Junior plus it seems like a logical advancment of how they would try and bring something that is less encumbrant that a whole ass bacta tank onto the field
At least she should have been jammed full of cybernetic organ replacements. That wound on Sabine looks like it would have gone through her large intestines and maybe her liver if she was unlucky.
@@Dogburt_Junior Yeah, but timelapse are a thing too
You forgot Cere Junda and Dagan Gara. Both got stabbed in the chest in Jedi Survivor and they both died.
Also didn't Vader impale Kestis at the end of Fallen order?
@@mongolia1992 oh yeah. And they didn’t explain why he survived.
@@fyre-editz_OfficialBD-1 Stims are stronger than bacta apparently lol
@@fyre-editz_Official He didn't get stabbed in his vital organs I think.... from how I saw saw it, it grazed him and only touched his side. Maybe it's just my head canon 🤷♀
Dagen got slashed across his chest which technically killed him but the stab still did most of the work.
And people said Qui-Gon was the only person to be stabbed by a lightsaber and die. But Reva is probably the worst lightsaber stab in Star Wars. SHE SHOULD HAVE DIED! Sabine, I get due to medical attention, but come on, Reva got stabbed twice! In fact her duel with Vader was the perfect end to her character.
Qui-Gon and the force Gods felt the most saddest death scenes but these 2 lightsaber victims just throws the physics off the table. Physics of the insanely high Celsius of 18,000°C to 25,000°C.
@@danishqureshi514I don't think lightsabers are actually anywhere near that temperature, since at that temperature it would just light anyone it comes into contact with on fire.
@@danishqureshi514 the physics are already off the table in a fantasy world of space wizards and space battles full of sound. The temperatures are never stated in canon and are variable as the power, length and size of sabres are all adjustable. If you can adjust the power then why couldn't Vader have turned it down in order to teach Reva a lesson as the rest of the fight clearly aimed to do?
@timsbird1971 why would he wanna teach her a lesson? he can't trust her? that whole scene is up for debate because they have every reason to kill her and seem to want to kill her, but know FIRST HAND that you can be stabbed by a lightsaber and not die. whether Anakin remembers that he did the exact same thing to her as a CHILD or not, Grand Inquisitor is right fucking there and he had the exact same happen to him in the exact same show. there's physically no reason to leave her alive but that's the only thing that makes sense, but then there's 10× better things to do to weaken someone without killing them. how did she even get off the planet?
With reva they should have made her part cyborg like the character from bobafet who was shot in the stomach. At least that would make sense. 🤷♂️
And yet Qui Gon is still crying over him being the only Star Wars character to die via a lightsaber stab wound to the stomach area
Did Satine not get stabbed in the stomach area? I thought she did
@JacksonLane02 no she dies from the wound it even shows it in this video at 4:41
@@JacksonLane02your thinking SaBine not SaTine
@@lightningleopard8877 oh haven't heard of Satine or If I have haven't heard that name in a long time considering I haven't watched a whole lot of clone wars
@@JacksonLane02 it’s all good, Satine is or was Obi wans love interest/girlfriend who was killed by Maul
Wierd how more and more people survived the stabs as time went on... Must be something with the Kybercristals I`m sure... Nothing else...
Yep totally
Haha wtf
Hey it cannot be tv y7 if too many people die
Theory, the stab isn’t what killed Han, but instead the fall and getting blown up with the Starkiller Base
Now this is quality content right here
I still don't understand how Shaak Ti got 3 canonical deaths.
Deleted scenes
The only semi canonical the one shown in Yoda’s vision
2 canonical deaths.
Gotta respect the effort of rewatching all star wars content for this video
Fun Fact: That Chewie Roar When Han is Stabbed First Appeared in The 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special.
Man, I forgot how many people just get merced in the clone wars
there should have been a counter at the top of those who died and those who survived
We have reached a new age of surviving the stabs: They now disappear 12:22 and 12:30
Dave learned too much from Rian Johnson
Honestly the fact that lightsabers can cut through blast doors and stuff, if they come anywhere close to your vital organs, you should be dead. But if they don't, I think you should have a chance (eg. arm or leg cut off, or just barely getting hit, like Obi Wan in episode 2)
If you’re gonna think about it like that then you should spontaneously combust just from holding a lightsaber, or at the very least recurve notable burns.
@@jacehackworth6413in the ROTS novel, during Anakin and Dooku's duel, it talks about how Anakin slammed his saber down hard enough to force Dookus own blade to burn into his shoulder, which I thought was a really cool detail like that
They cpuld have had sabine be hit in the lg or arm
This just makes me want to rewatch the clone wars shows.
I assume this video exists because apparently Disney doesn’t know how deadly a lightsaber is supposed to be Edit: And yes I know about Maul, but he’s supposed to be the ONE acceptation!
Yes, if you disregard the fact that Maul is missing his reproductive and digestive system and lived before Disney bought Star Wars. I get complaining about inconsistency, but inconsistency has always been around. Like how that one alien in A New Hope bled when getting his arm chopped off by Kenobi, but no one else has bled from a lightsaber wound.
@@ManOfX305He bleeds because his species are spider human things.
@@ManOfX305 Yes, Disney and Dave Filoni who brought Maul back. So if there were small issues in continuity before, we should throw it away now? Bullshit, bad writing is always bad writing.
@@user-xx6vy9ri8p You do know George Lucas was the one who wanted Darth Maul back, yes? He literally worked on Clone Wars…
I really don’t like that, either. It should be a sheer miracle of the force that they survive. Not an everyday occurrence. However, to their credit, I really love the lightsaber fights in Ashoka.
Though it is generally strange to see so many people stabbed with lightsabers. If they also have a blade to protect themselves from slashes I can understand this but normally if you don't expect it to be blocked by anything you would just slash due to the lightsaber's unique cutting abilitiy
As someone trained in fencing and in particular the sabre sometimes a thrust is the better move.
@@timsbird1971 Like I said, in a swordfight between two opponents with lightsabers thrusting is sometimes the best option to get past their defences but if your opponent does not have a lightsaber or anything else that can block one you should just cut them in half or decaptitate them for a guaranteed kill instead of hoping your thrust hit a vital organ
A lot of these stabs are people igniting the lightsabers into their opponents from the behind
They so need to get Nick Gillard again.
This video was just what I needed after seeing so many people survive stab wounds in disney star wars
This needs to be sync up to Mr. Blue sky.
Gotta love how only Palpatine had the sense of stabbing and swipping the saber sideways to guarantee the kill I mean, bodies offer almost 0 resistance to lightsabers, everybody would do the same
"Blue Sky" needs to be playing in the background
Someone needs to send this to Disney as a damn reminder
Fr
It's interesting that one show contains 60% of survival cases, and one character, in the same show, 40%... and all this in the last few years, in a franchise that has existed for almost half a century
What about that praetorian that got stabbed in the head? Also Star Wars needs more stage fatalities. I completely forgot about that Praetorian that fell into the death pit
Even though I do agree Sabine’s stab does technically make sense I still think it’s kinda dumb how they did it
Like Kenobi obviously has some nonsense but the writing for that show just isn't great, what I dislike now is that they're doing random fake outs like we don't already know this character is gonna live.
Yeah Sabine surviving is the most believable
Forgot some. Only one I actually remember is dooku stabbing yaddle in tales of the Jedi.
I would not charge Anakin with a war crime for that Trench kill btw, that would be thrown out for self defense probably due to the fact that Trench was electrocuting him. IDK why but I feel like some people call that a war crime or at least murder.
You're right. But that doesn't mean Anakin is innocent of all his other war crimes! 😄
Shaak Ti's on here 3 freaking times lol
Doesn't count, deleted scenes. She actually died by that one video game.
2:27 the kiss of death
If it goes though the spine, then that's it.
The 2 from Kenobi are the only ones that bother me. Seeing these together actually makes the Sabine one seem even more reasonable. It's in her side and she is immediately helped within seconds. I just can't get mad at that one like everyone else. 🤷🏼♂️
Feeling the same. Reva is an abominable character, no offense to her very talented actress tho
Sabine gets her stomach fried and gets her overall body temperature up by a really strong amount (like a fever can kill a human a 2000*C blade can kill a human) and ALL SHE GETS are a few and I mean few hours in a bed and afterwards she is COMPLETELY fine and can fight again like nothing happened? Like you can even come with the argument that „the heat closed the wound“ because how is the wound gonna the reopened and the organs fixed again? As a medical expert there would be nothing anything could do with the wound being basically a welded hole in your intestines. bacta tanks where not shown and the things that healed her WELDED HOLE IN THE BODY where robots… no magic. Ist Like cmon the stab wasnt even really necessary and didnt bring the story forward. Dave Filoni just said „omg looks cool“
@@kage2479 I mean I think it is implied that they used bacta, it can be sprayed on as well so you don't always need a tank.
@@kage2479my guy Star Wars is full of technology that doesn’t exist in real life. It’s not hard to believe that there’s top of the line medical technology on Lothal lol
@@kage2479yeah. Star Wars medical technology is the same as 21st century technology. yeah that makes sense
I will indeed watch this "petty" compilation cause its so hilarious of a concept
Damn Disney really made them survivable lately
3:25 the clone trooper sounded just like a xenomorph diying
So force gods can be taken out by a stab wound but jedi younglings survive?💀
... twice
Ah yes, because a stab through the heart of an already dying creature that just lost it's will to live by choice, and stabbing someone in prime health through a pretty meaningless area and giving them near immediate medical attention, is the same... (I will not, however, be defending Reva, she shoulda died the first time) And, as much as I hate to say it, Kylo living does make sense if you have seen Ep1.
@mattshelton7423 *boiled blood* allow me to introduce myself. *2000°C blade* allow me to introduce myself. *liver being vital organ* allow me to introduce myself.
@@mattshelton7423 You are literally defending Reva

8:55 Spinning around
Shak Ti dying so many times cracks me up
I noticed it too with my lightsaber, does anybody know where I can get a good quality Kybercrystal? Because I think mine is malfunctioning.
I think the thing is, if they get stabbed and don’t get medical treatment right away or don’t use the dark side to keep themselves alive, which Darth maul used to keep himself alive, then they don’t survive. And it might also be they pass out for a bit from the pain of their insides getting melted and those insides clotting at the same time. I don’t think its an instant death, more of a slow one that you pass out to at first.
Aside from the Grand inquisitor, and maybe Reva(we never saw exactly where she got stabbed either time), every lethal stab has been through the spine and/or chest, and even then they often lived to say their final words. When Kylo and Sabine were stabbed, it was not in the spine, and plausibly avoided vital organs, and they both got immediate medical attention. Is it plot armor? Absolutely, of course but it’s not like the current show runners of Star Wars are just suddenly pretending lightsabers can’t kill people. It is definitely goofy that three people survived getting stabbed in Kenobi though.
Disney please take notes: Also Metal Gear Revengeance: HOW PLEASE OF YOU TO CHOP AWAY JACK THE RIPPER
Thanks 🎉
Could you survive a lightsaber stab wound if you got inmediatly frozen in carbonite and had your organs ither replace by cynthetic ones or by machinery?
Lightsaber stabs are so common becuase producers want to keep it pg in a stab the is no disemberment of limbs
Aren't 6 Star Wars movies still PG despite dismemberment?
@@user-yq9im9dk9zYes, but that’s because during the writing of those movies, PG-13 didn’t exist. Therefore it either had to be R or PG back then.
And here we go with 3 of 4 Shaak Ti deaths 😂
five if you count lego!
@@PuppyLoverSilver Oh yes they killed her in Lego too
Deleted scenes does not count.
Although I hate to say it, a few non-deaths from Disney involving lightsabers do make sense. Kylo survived because force healing became a thing, so even though it’s stupid it technically makes sense in the story. As for Sabine, she was rushed to medical attention at top speeds. We saw with Qui Gon that people can survive at least 5 minutes after being stabbed with a lightsaber, so Sabine could have been saved just in time. However, Obi Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber stabs are really stupid. No matter how much anger those sith had, they should die.
You think she got rescued, taken to a medical facility, and underwent trauma surgery, within a few minutes? That is some platinum service there. I don't even want to imagine her health insurance bill. Qui-Gon was also a powerful master sorcerer comparable to the council members. Sabine is just a girl. Qui-Gon was stabbed in the lower abdomen. Sabine was stabbed in the lung.
@@corruptangel6793 it was just my observations, and trying to bring some civility to this comment section of crazy people who care way too much about this topic.
There wasn’t any lightsaber stabbing in “Rebels”? And what about Baylan stabbing Captain Hayle in “Ahsoka”?
I'm surprised no one was stabbed in the OT.
I’m willing to become a director just to stab someone with a lightsaber just for the audience to think oh they’ll comeback next episode but instead at the end it shows the vitals or whatever going to 0 and the character dying with their friends mourning their death.
That'd be a writer, not a director
@@quintonheimann ah I see. The writer is just one who writes stuff. And the director directs stuff?
@@MonkeyBanjo7 yeah pretty much, basically a foreman(?) They just make sure everything is on schedule and tell actors how to act
although I agree with the point being made it is true that not all stabs in the torso are equal, many of these stabs look like they fried the heart/lungs
But the problem is that these aren’t swords the beams of hyper charged plasma the literally cook your insides but Disney likes to rewrite that
Getting stabbed by a lightsaber is now more of an inconvenience than a death sentence.
You forgot to add Cere from Jedi survivor
How many deaths was it? I lost count after 13 because i realized my counting style is majorly flawed.

4:05 not so sure about that yet
You forgot about when Cal Kestis got stabbed by his own lightsaber in jedi fallen order.
Remember that when Palpatine kills Agen Kolar at 1:21, he rips his lightsaber through his side, cutting him open. It's not just a simple stab.
You forgot one - the last one at the throne room.
Why does everyone have to be stabbed in the same exact spot? 😂
I love how they lower Sabine's wound for the hospital scene. Goes from right under her breast to just above the hip.
Wait truuuuue
1:58 What? I have 50 milion power in rise of ki-
You forgot the captain in Ahsoka ep 1 who was stabbed by Baylan
Also I did not realize how many stab kills the clone wars had
In first episode of ahsoka during the being it say “former Jedi night Ahsoka Tono” which is wrong because she never was a Jedi
The crawl of Phatom Menace says that two Jedi Knights were sent to negotiate with the trade federation. Obi-Wan was not a knight at that time.
Alright though he was much closer but still you have a valid point
You missed the captain of the prison ships getting stabbed by Baylon

Kudos for the pronunciation of compilation.
6:15 Lightsaber horns?
Why did you put revenge of the sith before clone wars?
In order of release date? that's how I see it
Literally 95% of these is someone getting stabbed thru the heart, except the reva stabs (which are BS) but Sabine got stabbed way lower, and also recieved medical attention, somethjng others were not provided So sabine surviving, makes sense
Copium
We see her get stabbed right under the breast and it came out higher.
You forgot about cal getting stabbed by vader in fallen order
Right.. he got stabbed with his own lightsaber by Vader in the gut.
you missed one, in the throne room scene, either rey or kylo (cant remember which one) stabs a guard through the head
Went from non survival to just a burn mark. What next? Force choke is survivable?
Padmè survived being force choked, but then died from being too sad
Alot of characters survive getting forced choked

just remember sabine survived one of these
And after one episode she was ok
Where is Dark Krayt vs Cade Skywalker?
Dude you forgot ceres death in jedi survivor
Wait, So there is no stabbing in the Originals?
What is that 3rd one
What about Jango’s head cut off
Poor Shaak Ti, having to die so many times
I'm a simple man. Grand Inquisitor and Reva should have died, as they were very clearly fatal stabbing spots. Sabine's stab was very clearly to the left of vitals, it just feels annoying because Sabine's stab is fresh off the three bullshit stabs present in the kenobi show
Feckinn🍀 plot armour
Now what about memorable deaths in star wars
Has anyone else noticed that the red lightsabers in ahsoka just look orange?
Canonically every character shown here survived. No exceptions.

I mean sll of the non desd lightsaber stabs could have easily been changed to look diffrent. Sabine: slash in her leg or arm do bring her down Same with kylo Or just remove a limb thats no problem but dont just stab them for the funsies
