That's amazing that the X5 is stock & sounds that good with that simple mod, so with that being stated I like the deep sound of the X5 better plus the pops
I had a muffler delete (with unplugged valve) on my G05 but it was too loud so I put it back. Today I unplugged exhaust valve and it’s just right imo. Quite noticeably louder.

@@giorgioyt1968 Congrats on your purchase! I was told by a viewer that when in sport plus the valve opens up but if that doesn't work then try unplugging it when you do a cold start

As demonstrated in this video, the Carly was only used to open the exhaust valves, and he went under the car and unplugged the valves so the valves would be stuck open. That was the objective of the Carly.

that sound you hear is me opening the exhaust valve manually through the app. When driving in Sport Plus or comfort only opens up when you're in full throttle. When the valve is open it will sound the same in comfort and sport plus.

Hey, for the Carly app, do I need to get the subscription for the Carly OBD. Or is it just the one time purchase fee.
I bought the subscription so I can do coding to my car. It’s a yearly fee
You also have to purchase the adapter... i bought it and have a yearly sub. I remember when i got it in the mail it came from Germany

Bought a 2017 X5 35i M sport with the stock M performance exhaust. I doubt i need to do a golf tee mod on it.. let me know if i can still do it
If it has MPE then it doesn’t have the valve from what I remember

How did you drive it to get that pop @2:26? I’ve opened both flaps and although the exhaust sounds deeper with two, it’s not popping and I’ve tried downshifting driving on manual mode. Thanks for the video!
I get those pops when im in sport plus when upshifting
It's because your G05 does not have the M-Sport package.

@@sammyshadi7621 that’s odd. I have a 35i and it pops even on downshifts sometimes. I think you might wanna delete the muffler and see?

From what I know all bmws have exhausts valves. If you want to be sure 100%, check your right exhaust too see the valve

I got the full paid version. I'm not sure if the lite version comes with option of opening the exhaust valve

Highly doubt you would lose anything other than maybe low end torque since there's less exhaust gases to spool the turbo

Does this method allow the valve to stay open all the time even after removing carly and turning it off? Does it matter what drive mode you’re in?
Either you pull the fuse in compartment in the trunk or pull the wiring harness on the exhaust itself when you opened the flap through carly

Can you accomplish this by just unplugging the valve, without the Carly OBD device?
Well the reason why the OBD device was used was to open the valves through the app of course, and then after it was open, he unplugged the valves, making them stuck open. If you just unplug the valve, chances are the valves is already closed, meaning they will be stuck closed after unplugging the valves. Now if you do want to unplug the valve while the valves is open, I'm pretty sure the valves are open during a cold start, so that would probably be ur chance to unplug the valves before the RPMS drop and the valves close.

Make sure your exhaust flap is opened first!!! If not this will create excessive back pressure on your exhaust and turbo when building boost and when your wastegate opens to dump those gases.

Tbh, I'm not too sure, because I compared the sound between comfort mode and sport+, and there wasnt a difference, even tho I'm sure the valves is supposed to open in sport.

Why would you need to unplug the valve if you deactivated it through Carly.
it only stays open when I use the Carly OBD. When you take the OBD out, the valve will close.

Whats the milage on X5 ? I have X5 40i with M performance exhaust with almost 14,000 Km, but It's not as loud as yours and the pops. And upshifting sound is pretty satisfying. Just wondering about your milage.
it gets around 550-600KM per tank depends how its driven

No. Your Sport exhaust has had its flaps removed so in other words it permanently opened.
My x5 is EU/ German car and it has different exhaust with less noise because of EU regulations. It sounds same before and after like in sport mode, so this mod is only available for US cars.

You have to pull the wiring harness once the flaps are opened.

You’ll get better sound but less performance (less torque at low rpm) Sometimes you need the flap closed to restricted the flow and create low pressure for the turbo to spool faster.

Yes it will work. You will find the valve on the right side. You can check by going underneath your car

You can just press the sport mode button and the vehicle does it for you. No need to unplug or cheat the system. Feature is already equipped bro!
Not on all BMW’s. I have a 2022 X5 and when it’s in sport plus you don’t hear the valves open up unless you push it

What was the cable you disconnected and why?
That cable controls the exhaust valve. The exhaust valve opens up under heavy acceleration. What I did in this video, I manually opened the valve by using the Carly App. Once the exhaust is open, I then unplugged it which keeps the valve open at all time.

@@TheErajat Nope there isn't any malfunction when performing this mod. The reason why the exhaust valve opens in higher RPM's is to enhance the exhaust note. I've been running both valves open for several months now and haven't experienced any problems. Thank you for your feedback!

I had a look under the car and doesn’t appear you can. Unless it is hidden because I couldn’t see anything
It’s on the right exhaust tip. I did it on my F16 X6 which is the same platform as the F15
It is the 4.4TT and not the i6 which is maybe why I couldn’t see anything but I will have another look
I don’t think this is the only thing thas was done to this car. I have the same car,i tried this but the sound is not the same... so tell the audience what else you have on the exhaust !!!

EuroDriven my car is a german car. A friend told me that Usa cars has different exhaust and it’s not manufactured same as europe cars.
European cars have to follow noise rules, that’s why the supra’s in the Us also sound louder in stock than the ones in Europe

It’s “free” in the terms you don’t need to buy an exhaust system to have a better sound. It can be done without the app, you just need to figure out how to open the flap manually. I used the app so it makes it easier.
