Got my G30 540I can’t wait to tune it 💯
love the clip of papa and mikeys supra on the strip
wouldn’t it be more worth to get a closed box intake tho, if you’re just going for look and a little better sound, possibly go with the aFe?
Downpipe/hpfp/tune .. 450-500whp. Don't waste money on intake lol.
I don't think you need hpfp on the newer M340i's... handles up to E50.
@@domtoretto8616 you do
@@Tuscani011 Why? I'm running E50 , downpipe & tune now for ~ 1 year without any probs and great numbers in the logs. According to the folks on bimmerpost, my 2021 M340i can handle up to E50... but I wouldn't push it more than that. Some people upgrade to a B58TU (from the Supra). "Fuel limits will vary from B58 to B58. This is true even with the same mods, boost, fuel type, etc. Some of the fueling limits come down to the health of the OE parts. It also varies based on tuning, climate, and many other factors...".
@@Tuscani011 You don't.
@@domtoretto8616 The A90 Supra and new 340 etc use the B58TU pump so no need to upgrade it. If you have an original B58 then realistically you should be looking to upgrade to either the TU pump or a stage 1/2 pump from Dorch Engineering for example as the stock pump has too little fuel flow for stage 2+ maps.
I say closed box air intake is better. Open like that sounds good but it was sucking in way too hot air and making the car run slow top end
I've read the stock intake is the best and most efficient tbh. Esp if you get a high flow filter for it.
Ive been using bm3 on my iphone for almost 2 years
Will these intakes be okayin very dusty conditions ? I live in India, thats why asking, its very dusty here.
I believe the ho difference is because the racha it’s manifold is different. The second gen b58 has six ports instead of two, making it better flowing.
This is true and I believe the compression ratio changed as well
Gen 1 B58s also have 6 ports in the Fseries BMWs.
@@Mendra72 I can confirm this now that I own a first gen.
BMS only claims up to 8whp with their intake, not the 20 that you noted in the video - on a B58....The Dinan closed air intake in the best choice out there for a viable increase in whp
Depends. That 8hp number is claimed without a tune. Tune should squeeze a lot more out of it.
Is jb4 a good tune?
Thank you for the video. Would you be so kind to add links or at least names of the parts mentioned.
Yes please! This would be a big help
Do I need to do fuel I only have access to 91 and 94 octane
Good job
Is the intake really necessary? I've read the stock one is actually more efficient than the after market ones.
Does anyone know the height of the engine. The up and down.
Please post links for the parts you mentioned in the video! Much appreciated
Just put it up sorry for the late reply
Can you do this for 530i xdrive and increase hp
So I guess if I do all this AND a turbo upgrade i'm looking at 600 WHP?
I wonder how long it eill take for someone to do this with an Ineos Grenadier 🤔
Hello everyone, I have been looking forward to mod my m340i Xdrive 2020 and have been preparing all the moods listed, even exhaust and all but I haven't seen anybody do jb4 methanol injection on my car, my country has low quality gas so I think it's the way to go, could someone help me out please? (Plan on installing JB4 tuner as well) it would be helpful also a guide to the best chargepipe as I want to have it addressed and not feeling worried in the back of my mind. Thanks beforehand.
For E85...does the factory BMW X5 fuel pump, fuel lines, injectors, and rail support this type of fuel? I know for a fact that to use E85, you need E85 compatible parts.
Gen 1 b58 needs a hpfp upgrade. but the gen 2 in the supras or m340is can run e85 with a tune
I’ve heard a drop in filter is plenty for even high horsepower cars an open cone style can lead to heat soaking and loss of power after multiple pulls
Test have even shown that intakes add NO Hp....i think Kies actually lost some on their dyno run.
@@Steveindajeep ok but choo choo noises are well worth it
non boost cars can lose hp on intakes if they are at higher risk of heat soak but i hear the intake setup on the B58 is very efficient and thus why intakes do very little besides sound on these engines.
Aside from noise/eye candy it's not really worth it unless you go for a bigger turbo. There is fear of the stock filter collapsing but I don't think that has happened to anyone with stock turbo
@@Steveindajeep wrong, a high flow fresh air intake will not add but free up lost power in comparison to something like a FRAM air filter. Less air, less combustion.
Kern417 says no intake needed until near 600hp
How would I go about getting my bmw 840i up to m8 standard in performance ? Any help on what I should do ? Can you do a video please
Hi, I have 840i (with integral RWD). You just need downpipe (just google b58c downpipe) + chiptuning. With these changes I have 420 hp, which is very safe for engine. Also, you can buy intake, as it have shown in video below
Pure 800 turbo or Big Boost GTX 1000 kit.
How about a N26 4 cylinder?????
Hey bro can you talk about JB4 with E85. Thanks in advance
I’ll definitely look into it
Does a the 2019 740i have a b58?
If just going for a stage 1 upgrade. I was considering a BM3 stage 1 map. Catless downpipe and OPF Delete. Thoughts ?
go high flow, just for the sake of the planet, they arent that much more expensive and the amount of hp is not much. The big plus for me is I get to brag and smirk at the peeps that I beat in a race when i find out that they ran a cattless. I used to really made them feel like shit lol

What are your thoughts on the xhp trans tune. I got a similar build to you but have the vrsf catted dp. I’m on the stock trans tune and it struggles to put down the power. Sick build bro!
raihanrahman03 XPH trans makes a huge difference even if car is complete stock i left it on Stage 3, manual shifting is instant and it removes torque limiter on any stage, definitely worth it
My 340ix has xph stage 3, vsrf 200 dp, dual res delete, dinan v2 elite, bmw m perf exhaust, ohh man the machine gun pops are legendary 🤩
finally got an update on my CG catted downpipe last week after over a year, hope to get it in 2-3 weeks, also ordered Remus Catback Exhaust and stoptech BBK in late august, hope those wont take long to arrive,

What’s the best tune for a m240i 2017+ sum not to expensive?
I personally like MHD the best so far
K&n or afe drop in is better than a cone filter, unless it has it's own box
@Bas bzb yes, it is
they also suck in way more dirt and debris, wearing out your engine faster.
Depending on which 40i you have, the parts and prices will vary. I say under 2k
what about a 2018 440i rwd
Anything from 240i to 740i use the same parts for making power awd or rwd
This is not true.... For every 100hp you increase the power you want to get one step colder plugs... Also you can't get 500hp for 1500usd this is just click bait... And a wana be video of the n54 one lol. Without a TU pump you are stuck at basically 405hp.... Also mhd is crank hp not whp bro... Nice try tho. You clearly don't own a n55/n54/b58
@@bmwbbNkiller what logic is there to go with colder plugs? You arent increasing the voltage of the coils. Hell of a way to foul some plugs

Just bought a 2020 bmw x3 m40i and love it, but I'm want more power. I live in Newport Beach, CA. Is there a place I can take this to?
Pq performance they have a 500 hp package for like 5500 but you don’t need a charge pipe or a intake so maybe the price will go lower if you ask them not to add that and if you want you can get a e50 mix or e40 for more power
If I live in California should I get the catted down pipes or will that not affect smog?
Just find a plug who can pass your smog. Ask around
How reliable are the 2017 M performance B58 ?
They’re pretty good I’ve heard of oil consumption issues with those though so just keep an eye on that
@@alextrout2631 does it consume the oil by burning off somewhere or loss by leaks?
Lol you don’t need a pc or Android to use bm3, they added MacBook and iPhone compatibility a long time ago. Also the stock intake actually gives you better IAT’s meaning you won’t heat soak as quickly and you’ll have more consistent runs. Instead of buying an intake I’d put that money into a TU pump (from 2nd gen B58) or get a better aftermarket HPFP. This will allow you to run a little more ethanol mix and make the opening bigger so your engine can get more out your turbo
Sorry didn’t know you could do it on iPhone now. And I said the intake didn’t add much power at all and the TU hpfp is around $1000 or more so kind of defeats the purpose of the video lol.
There’s actually a video out there of two Supra’s compared with almost the same exact mods except for the intake. The one with the aftermarket intake actually gained more power on the top end. In regards to IATs: The ECU won’t begin pulling timing until they hit about 130f. All the data logging I’ve done on my car in hot summer so cal weather I’ve never seen my IAT hit over 110. And that’s with running an ethanol tune (higher boost). They usually stay around 100f.
Dawg the TU pump is about £300 now on ebay
Odd that a person who owns a vehicle that costs tens of thousands, and wants to tune it to 500HP doesn't have a computer laying around 😂
@@AlessioSangalli who said I didn’t have a computer? Lol tuning on your phone is way more convenient, especially when it’s all the same thing. There is no added benefit but a bigger screen :)

What engine is a 2019 bmw 430i gran coupe ?
A b48 I have a video on that as well
The predecessor engine is the N55 check the wiki
So let me get this straight, if I decide to get a cold air intake, its necessary to get a downpipe as well or no?
no a closed box intake(stock intake) is arguably better for sound and high end pulls
Is there a tune for the 2021 X3 M40i ? I just bought mine and would like more power
Congrats on the new x3 m40i I really love those. Anddd for the 2021 I heard they are having a hard time cracking the DME but when they do I’m pretty sure JB4 or MHD would be one of the first to offer a OTS tune.

I would want to purchase an extended warranty on the car because I don’t trust the longevity of any German/european car
The B58 engine is actually a lot more reliable then older BMW Engines, you just have to maintain it (kinda a no brainer), as long as you do regular maintenance the B58 will last for a long time

20 whp from air intake??? In your dreams, maximal 5 hp OR - 5 HP

Intakes for BMW’s are a complete waste of money.
Not on the intake alone I think you are right, but if you pair it with a tune then I think its worth it
@@chuckehrlichTell that to RK Tuning
@@erich1308 turbocharged engines already have a very efficient intake from BMW. Even with a tune, you are not going to gain any additional horsepower with an aftermarket intake. N55?
A couple of videos are surfacing of the 340i's suffering from loosing power from heat soaking due to not upgrading the cooling system ( air to water intercooler and heat exchanger). And now that I go back check out peoples videos. Alot of people have not upgrading the intercooler. After 3 runs the car starts struggling on the role races.

The 440i or 330i come with a different engine other than the b58 mentioned in this video. I dont have alot of knowledge about the engine it does have but i can tell you one thing, reliability is 9/10 on the owner, if you want to tune it, do your oil changes every 3.5-5k, stay up on maintenance and it will be reliable, of course if your buying a used car its past life will play a big role in its reliability. And yes and no about the exhaust. There is companys that make a valved aftermarket exhaust which will decrease decibels when closed a good amount, but it will never be as quiet as stock. These sytems will be around 1-1.5k minimum.
If you want to tune the car and like to drive with a little spirit then i would recommend the M suspension.
