  • My dude, amazing video! definite sub. I ordered these just yesterday due to the fact that I love neutral sound for music and they're probably still more bassy and immersive than the basically completely neutral open backs that I have now. The earpads are so soft you can wear it with spectacles without worrying about pain. 10/10 would recommend this headset!

  • Yep, spot on what you said about these lacking bass for the average consumer. I have the Takstar Pro 82 which is what these are based on and they're essentially a budget studio monitoring headphone and the successor to the Pro 80 which most people have used in the form of the HyperX Cloud 1 and 2. Although on the Pro 82's they come with bass sliders to increase bass for a more "consumer friendly sound" but most audiophiles don't use it as it can muddy the sound, especially with both ports open but I find one port open to be a good balance. Still, these are the most comfortable headphones I've ever used and it's nice Cooler Master is selling a rebranded model since the Pro 82 has to be imported from China.

    @skrunch1192@skrunch11925 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, I didn't realize that at first but have since been made aware of the 82 and done some research. Comfort is undeniable and the sound isn't bad at ALL, it's just not my cup of tea.

  • The mic sounds really good for the price...way better than HyperX Cloud Alpha :O I heard the sound quality drop a bit and missed the part where you said that we just heard the mic test by accident, so I assumed it was a glitch or something on my end. I decided to rewatch and this time I paid attention to as much detail as possible because I didn't see the mic test, and I was so surprised. This is a headset that is a definite contender to the Logitech G Pro I wanted to get, but was unable to find, and it even has a less obvious logo and is cheaper :D This was a really good review, I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through :3 Edit: also my eyes kinda lit up I guess, when you said the sound signature was closer to flat, because I am currently using a bass heavier pair of headphones, and using an equalizer software to try to get the highs and mids to be louder than the lows And the USB dac, the mh752's dac may be better than my laptop's motherboard sound, but the mh751 is $35 cheaper, Cooler Master went from "eh this company is okay" in 2016 to "Cooler Master is really good" in 2018, their keyboards are good [but more expensive than Ducky's D:], their mice are also good, they have great mouse pads, and now they have broken through in headsets. Good stuff

Steelseries Arctis 5 will have slightly worse overall audio definition but better bass. The other factor is that the mic on the MH751 is one of THE best mics I have ever heard in gaming. I just did a shootout in my video for best gaming headset under $100 and you can hear it in the mic checks. If *I* could pic only one - I would go with the CM751 at $80 and it would be a done deal.

Having a lot of bass is fine as long as its controlled and doesn't bleed into the mids. Take for example my Audio-Teachnica M40X's. powered off my phone they can rattle my head with bass, but they are still detailed in the mids and highs. my suggestion is try before you buy i guess.

    • @@wotever99ninynine These are based off of the Takstar Pro 82 headphones, which are marketed as studio monitoring cans, and that's probably why they sound neutral-ish. The only thing that wasn't carried over were Takstar's bass ports. It depends on a person's preference what kind of bass they like. In my case, I like a clean, punchy bass that complements other frequency ranges.

  • I just bought the 751 as I didn’t think I would need the 7.1. I’m noticing that the mic has a little static, probably caused by the EMI in the mobo. I’ve been reading around trying to find a decent sound card for these, but reviews on most of these cards say they produce a “hissing” sound. Do you have any recommendations for a sound card? Should I just return the 751 for the 752?

    @Adam-eats@Adam-eats5 жыл бұрын
    • Honestly for the price difference between the two, if the mic input bothers you that much I would indeed return it and go 752. You'll spend considerably more than the difference on a decent shielded internal or external card.

  • I'm surprised that these sound flat to you... For me the low end was a bit too much, but not like a Sennheiser PC350. The soundstage of the MH752 is on the smaller side and activating the 7.1 mode on the dongle makes it even smaller, which is the opposite of what you want in games. It was quite disappointing when I tested it. The comfort is really, really good. I was very impressed and if I didn't have two pairs of headphones already (Superlux HD668B and AKG K551), I would've kept them. My gaming pair is the AKG one with a few mods to it.

Everything else about them from comfort to build is all Takstar. They really are the masters of giving you 90% the performance of more expensive cans at a third of the price. Also worth nothing the Takstar pro82 have bass sliders so you can adjust the bass on the fly. With the sliders fully open they really thump. No idea why Cooler Master removed them.

  • 16 bit on the dongle only really makes it ideal with a gaming laptop that has worse onboard...or a console. Trying to use it with a desktop setup means you have to get a splitter which is somehwhat ideal bc the 4' cable length vs the super long cable with the 751 which comes with a splitter XD. You dont get the full potential of the MIC either if you connect it with a splitter. It furthers the cluster F of trying to tidy up your work space ESP if youre running a usb dac via laptop populating your work space heavily as it is...then splitting the 3.5mm from the 752 4' cable to a single 3.5mm in on a laptop just for mic functionality for it to ultimately NEED the dongle for ideal performance capability IMO. THUS locking your overalls on audio to 16 bit 44000 as well as the inherent requiremnt to be eq'd which generally promotes use with the dongle or bypassing a desktop dac+amp setup or caters towards being marketed towards students/young individuals that already lack any type of amp or dac setup prior to purchase of the 752 as stated above incorporating it purely as a "headset" becomes an aspect of tug of war/trade offs. In reality i was also looking at the yamaha MT5 which was often on sale at local guitar centers...which would still require a mic. At the time i was using a laptop/laptop mic or kph30i. These seemed like the solution and generally are...unless you try to use "hardware" with them and want to retain mic functionality. And this generally is the case with the majority of headphones with mics and trying to push them with amps etc. You will generally always need a reverse splitter to get mic functionality or with a v moda mic on SHP9500 etc while still trying to drive those. In reality if the retailer i had my store credit/protection plan return $$$ had shp9500s or sold koss headphones i would have gone with either of the 2 and been sorted or fine with buying a desktop mic to pair with them. I just so happened to be living on site for a work window....and my portables broke/died and i needed an instant solution that same trip and went with these due to z reviews and confirmation that they were generally good OEM cans. and offered a 4' cable with "mic" functionality for conference calls etc on my phone/tablet. as well as even better performance for conference calls on a laptop....given enough time we may one day see type c dongles as Koss is now adapting their porta utility etc cable/eco system with onboard dacs. For 20$ above these prices or sticker id love to see a modernized dongle with type c interface for potential to be used and fully driven/eq with a phone via type c. For both the hyper x cloud and the mh752 it could really push how viable they are as all around headphones for on the go/portable music/podcast/content consumption as well as calls...and then for home use/gaming.
