Do you like the sound of birds combined with the sound of the tools?
This is a Heavy Duty bench vise made by BISON-SIAL S.A in Poland.
I found this rusty vise at flea market and cost me 10 euro, a very good price, because on ebay i found in much bad shape for 180$.
This one was in very bad shape, very rusted and blocked.
After appling penetrating oil this vise start to moove litle by litle but very hard. To remoove paint from it i utilize some paint stripper ,a plastic tool and a metal brush. To make the same almost original lock i chose to utilize a high quality paint from Hammerite, the color was Green Jad, this color is so beautiful and very strong, i think i will make more tools with it.
I hope you like this restoration!

Thank you for watching my video! After you finish watching you should check this Yellowed Playstation PS1 here: 😎🥰 kzhead.info/sun/Z6x7opyGfGNtops/bejne.html
Love the videos and have feedback. I prefer hearing the tools, but they have to be balanced so it doesn't make you deaf when using headphones. There were 2 typos in the video, it should have said degreaser and Jade
TysyTube Restoration if you put the wire wheel on a heavier table and bolt it down the noise will be much better. All the noise you’re getting is from the table too acting like a drum and the motor being able to move around.
I preffer tools sounds.
i know, i need a heavyer bench
Love the videos hate the grinder sounds!
I discovered something a number of years ago, when I was researching vises in a new catalog from an industrial supplier. More expensive vises, both bench and milling type use a Torrington thrust bearing between then handle knob and the pressure point on the vise. What do I mean? At 12:30, when he replaces the Acme shaft into the vise, a Torrington would be placed on the shaft, before insertion. Then, when tightening the vise, you will never have to use a hammer on the handle to get it tight enough. You will also never have to use something to hammer it loose, and for all of us old timers with aching, painful wrists, that is a blessing. For you young guys, it might keep you from crying when your wrists hurt so bad, you want to scream. I spent almost ten bucks for all the Torrington bearing I needed to install them in every vise I own. Even the cheap little red vise which had permently became a doorstop, (we all have one, they're always such a good deal, 0.50 at a garage sale, you can't resist. Then you use it, and it gets repurposed. The Torrington upgrade even turned the doorstop back into a usable vise. The difference is astounding. I recommend everyone upgrade their vises. I guarantee you WILL feel good about the expense, and time.
many thanks from Poland for the second life of this vise.
thank you so much 😊
Yup, same here - thanks (plus greetings) from Poland 😉

Very nice to see someone actually uses the right oil to loosen stuck parts, not like all the other idiots spraying WD-40 like crazy 😆 Good job man, it came out very nice. Btw i loved that part with the bug 😍
thank you so much My Mechanics 🧰
MM : ;-)
Amen. Nothing will stink up your shop like a healthy spray of WD40. I'm using olive oil btw. Works like a charm and you can smear it on your skin all day without worries.
put a sheet of rubber/rubber hose etc. between your table and your grinder. it will help with vibration noise
I know right, bunch of noobs... 🤣
Bird song, definitely. You can overlay the grinder at a much lower volume, just so it won't be that quiet. I love hearing the clickety-clack of the tools, it brings a new layer of reality to the work you're doing, but if the sound is too harsh or loud, it's annoying, and it detracts from the quality of the video. As for your camera, sounds like a white balancing issue. Try setting WB manually to fluorescent/LED or whatever type of light you have in your shop, and see if it happens again. If you shoot in fully automatic mode, take an hour or so and play with the settings to find a programmed mode (or even fully manual) that works for you.
John JeiJei thank you so much for all your advice, you have right some time the tools don’t sound so good, i have edited this with headphone to see what is wrong, i have a ring light 2 umbrella hith fluorescent light and 2 panels led with color between 3200k and 5600k
@@TysyTube yes it is almost certainly WB. you can even try changing the settings while looking at a white sheet of paper (or something like) and then you will know if the colour temperature is correct. thanks for the videos!
you and my mechanics are probably the best restorators on KZhead.
two fav restorers on youtube
Odd Tinkering is really good as well.
my mechanics would have had to make something on the lathe
Wonderfully satisfying to see it sliding in so smoothly at the end! I think the sound of the grinder is just fine but keep it quieter... This all takes me back to watching my grandad fixing things on the farm... Thank you!
Birdsong every time. Support from Scotland.
If you ever notice your camera goes orange, hold a piece of white paper in front of it. It's a white balance issue since you most likely have Auto White Balance turned on, it's referencing something blue, probably your gloves, as white. So use a white sheet of paper to fix the orange color.
thank you for your advice 😊👍
This is what I was thinking of as well. Also, light source needs to be as consistent as possible. Relying on daylight alone is not enough. A good source of 6500K lighting will keep things consistent when a cloud shaded sunlight or it darkens as the sun sets. Some lights have lower colour temperatures and can mess with the camera’s automatic settings. Incandescent bulbs and halogen bulbs have a lower temperature than LED bulbs and even LED bulbs differ in colour temperature between warm white and daylight white.
I would add to not use automatic WB. Only use automatic to set the color when you put the white paper in front of you camera to set it and don't touch it after.
I like the birds and I sincerely hope that you are using some noise protection so you don’t damage your hearing🤔. I also wanted to say thanks for being nice to the little 🐛
Great job! You breathed new life into the old vise.
I like watching yours and my mechanics videos. Shows how you can restore tools in multiple ways.
I like the grinder sound personally. The birds are a nice touch tho. I find your restoration videos soothing and inspiring. Keep up the great work! I look forward to all your videos
nice job but next use drill bit to take off rivets it s funny because i was restored few bench vise and c clamp with same jade green
thank you. I found one a month ago, and I want to get it working again. with your videoes I realize how easy and fast you can accomplish restoration projects. keep them coming.
A very interesting and practical restoration. I like how you used gentle methods of cleaning the old parts, without removing a lot of metal. Good job!
from restoration to saving a bug life
exactly 😊😍
Can we call the bug "steve, or larry"?
Nice work man 👍 I think the orange color of the video camera is because of automatic white balance. You can either use some of the other white balance modes or do color correction while editing the video.
thank you so much for your advice
My uncle has the same vice in his workshop. It's nice to see one being restored so beautifully.
That is just so satisfying to watch. I love the birds...thank you for your work!
is anyone else scrolling through the comments only to find out what the bug is called or is it just me?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Daniel Greenwood huh a lady bug I am guessing. 8-21-19
@@AmericanPride1234 Nah, those are known in America as Box Elder bugs, but in Europe they're apparently called fire bugs, or something similar depending on the language. Ladybugs are smaller, rounder, and have more spots.
I can only tell you the name of that bug in Polish, but there is a fun fact about them - during the mating process, male and female are stuck together with their butts, so one of them is always crawling backwards :) And they spray very stinky yellow pus when endangered.
We call it a "Gendarme" (kind of policeman) in France XD
I think the latin is Lygaeus equestris also called the black-and-red-bug
For some reason, "Poland Vice" never went over as well as "Miami Vice".
Crockettski and Tubbski made a huge illegal kielbasa bust and nobody cared.
I do like the sound of birds and the sound of the grinder Sometimes a little sound would make this awesome experience even greater
Great restoration, no waffle, just plain old hard work and attention to detail. Thank you
maybe do bird sound with grinder WAY WAY in the background
Porządne polskie imadła!

@@holocaust_2.0 It was a compliment, pls do not be so negative, lol
What can I say, I like the sound of the grinder. When I am working in the shop it is a relaxing feeling. I feel productive.
personally I don't mind the sound of the grinder, just the volume of the sound (compared to the rest of the quiet). I just found a vice in the garage that needs a lot of love. Watching this as inspiration :)
I like grinder sound. because somehow i feel comfortable with this sound.
1:29 Pyrrhocoris apterus aka Common Fire Bug 7:32 White balance issue
FirstDagger I was gonna say maybe a Milkweed bug, but I think you're correct.
Correct. It is a Common Fire Bug
In Ex Soviet Union Area his names is a Soldier ("Солдатик").
@@user-em3tm7rk6e Funny, in French it is called a "gendarme" (a bit like a policeman, but also part of the army), also sometimes "cherche midi"(looking for the sun at noon)
Thank you was looking for the local entomologist :)
Love the use of the insulated "pry bar" 😀
I like these twitting birds, as background sounds ;)
Dobra robota. :)
The bug is an european firebug, Pyrrhocoris apterus
In Ukraine between the people's we call them soldiers (like us tiny solder, I don't know how it was in English)
Boxelder bug
The paint stripper is my favorite part of your videos. Very satisfying.
I've always LOVED vise restorations! I plan to do a few more on my channel! It turned out great!! Now to put it back to work!
Great resto amazing what you can do with just hand tools! Did the lady bug make it? Bird song better than machine noise. Cant wait for the next one. Thank you
thank you so much, i let it outside , new video next week, check my instagram if you want to be updated 🤣😊
Во время съемок этого видео не один клоп-солдатик не пострадал))
The sound of the real work or process is way better than any substituted sound
I love the added background noise! Thank you for adding that.
Made in Poland ❤️
Yes , heavy duty Vise , is so beautiful
Gratulacje! Dobra robota! Pozdrowienia z Polski!!!
Dzięki
Definitely bird sounds over grinder, adds a great touch
Beautiful restoration job. I am getting ready to do the same thing with an antique vise I have. Love all the detail you showed in the process, so anyone can follow it exactly. Well done!
In the States we call them ‘Box Elder’ bugs. I don’t what they’re called in Europe.
In Poland its a blacksmith wingless or just tram commonly 😃
Waited the whole video to hear the Mazurek Dąbrowskiego. May be next time.
I like the sound of the birdies over the grinder. I've never heard of a Peugeot grinder. Beautiful job on the bench vise.
I really like the delicacy of your work. Nothing heavy handed and everything "just right", and I especially like how you researched how it originally looked. A great job and a brilliant video.
thank you so much 😊
Is it only me, or someone else also expected this bug getting smashed with hammer or any other heavy tool here ? 1:37
Wish the plaque was remounted nicer
Love the color. Enjoyed the birds. Great job, thanks for sharing!!
I like the quick sound of the tools. And this green is great!!!!
In Germany we call these bugs "Feuerwanzen"
I am hooked on these restorations, thanks for your skill
This is one of those cases where sometimes you need a vice to help to fix a vice! It's like scissors inside blister plastic wrapping which you need scissors to get to them haha. Great resto!
1:29 I know This bug is Pyrrhocoris apterus
Poland vice is extra strong vice....
I love that color. Looks like the company knew what beauty was.
Tysy, love your vids. You have inspired my 13 year old kid into getting rusy old things to work. He buys these thing at the flea market from these elderly gentlemen who he has befriended, he brings home a lot of stuff. They sell as consignment whatever he fixes. Thanks, for sharing. You do more then just great work.
thank you so much 😊, maybe you should help him to make some videos. i will be first subscriber
Have you tried calling the bug Semore? Or tried calling him by another name?
I think the name of the bug is Joe.
tierfuehrer2 whats a bug
A grasshopper walks into a bar. The bartender says "we have a drink named after you" The grasshopper replies "you have a drink named Steve?"
Found two old vices small & large at a flea market in the same shape, bought both for $10.00 (US). Had no clue how to clean them up. Now I know...thanks for sharing!
Grinder sound, definitely! If I want birdsong, I’ll open a window!!! Top job!
The camera problem is White Balance settings, try to use other setting than AWB (Auto White Balance) one
🤔maybe you have right i will try to change that mode
Чистить тиски тряпочкой это жесть .
Natural sounds are always best in restoration videos. I don’t like it when people overlay the video with music. Great video.
Glad to see you finally sorted out your bench grinder!
Oh yeah his name is Terry.
Un gendarme? 🤔
Effectivement c’est bien un gendarme , bravo à toi . Par contre en polonais ?
oui c’est fabriqué en Polinie

Great job! Loved hearing the birds and seeing the bug. Should last another 50-years if taken care of.

Ну губки поменял бы на нем и вся реставрация, ты придираешься:)
Love that sweet mint green! Great job, even if it is a simple vise.
Always amazed at your work. The videos are always so interesting and beautifully done. Thank you for sharing

Love the birds!
Very cool restoration. Bison vises like this are still made to this day in the original factory.
Great job! Love the birdsong.
Listening to the birds is much nicer.
i dont know bugs, i dont know cameras...i do know i like that green you used. great job on restoration!
I liked the birds singing more than the grinder. And the little bug was cute.
LOVE the grinder sound
Really enjoying your videos while I recover from knee surgery! Thanks for the well done vids. No talking, no music, just productivity!

I prefer the sound of tools when you work. Birds singing is for Disney movies. Great job on all the referbs you do. Keep up the great work.
Yes. I like the birds in the background
