I know the first wave came around the rise in Krokodil use in Russia, which is pretty dark. A global pandemic, and global political unrest as a deranged maniac ruling over the most influential nation with massive nuclear weapons though seems like a solid backdrop for this genre to experience a resurgence.

Unexpectedly Discovering this mixtape has meant the world to me.. Since my original discovery and establishment of Salem as my all time fave band/inspiration in the early 2010's Alot has changed in my life for the worst. Accumulated A lot of vices, fuck ups and bad habits. But this resurrection of my favorite thing has blessed my marred existence with what must be the feeling of a religious experience.. Me stumbling upon this treasure of a mixtape. The other day.. Must be like how Muslim ppl feel when pilgrimage to mecca
