The reason why this is a conversation is because 1. You invited all of the participants last minute aside from the Masters participants. 2. You admitted that the JIT 2025 invites are still going to be sent out last minute to “encourage people to prep” despite those invites to JIT aren’t guaranteed. 3. You spit on Jeopardy Superchampion Brad Rutter’s face when you said “He has to earn himself to be in Masters.” James, Mattea, Matt, Sam, Amy, and Andrew were all invited to Masters Season 1 with no need to prove themselves. We want you to change JIT and Masters for the better.
Also, another problem I have with how JIT and Masters are being implemented is that, upon the completion of Masters, it's becoming clear that those handful of people are professional Jeopardy players. Jeopardy has been very good for them financially, and they can take on other opportunities because of Jeopardy. For example, Andrew He was on the podcast a few weeks ago. He's now identified when he appears on the show as a "Stay-at-home dad." He attributes that to his success on Jeopardy. He can stay home, take care of his child and brush up on his trivia knowledge and read books and write flash cards. When the next JIT occurs and the Masters who fall short in this year's tournament go to play there, you will see the same result as this year: at least one, and very likely two or all three of them will be in the final game of JIT. BTW, I hadn't listened to the podcast yet, so am just finding out now that they're going to let people know at the last minute again about JIT. I kinda hope, but doubt it will happen, that there's a "mutiny" of Jeopardy players. They should just reject taking part in JIT. Wishful thinking, I know.
Speaking of Victoria Groce, my fingers are currently crossed whether if The Chase would return on ABC or not.
I hadn't heard an announcement and it's coming up on a year since it last aired. I think Victoria and James, two chasers that are going to be on Masters, is a very good sign that we might see it again, but time will tell.
