    • I don't consider his shorts "reviews" as they're more of an overview of the information you need to know about the car at the shortest time possible. If Forrest was evaluating all his experience with the car AND stating his opinion if he'd recommend said car, then I'd consider those shorts, "reviews". Nonetheless your comment still stands, Forrest did change the game for this type of content (not mentioning the *clean* camera work his cameraman does).

(I still buy mini vans because they sell for cheap used since people prefer SUVs. Plus with the seats down you have a flat bed that's good on gas. I can have more stuff in the back then the normal pick up truck.)

    • @@DonLee1980 I heard mini vans in Japan are looked at as luxury. It's their limousines. What ever happened to limousines? They used to be the shit in America. But a mini van is a limousine that has more head room and doesn't have to turn like a tractor trailer. Again, mini vans are where it's at. I bought a 2007 Toyota sienna XLE from a dealership for $3,500, it has two sunroofs (one for the front one for the back) heater leather seats, a TV for the people seeing it the back with their own headphones and a button to put the back seats flush with the floor or put them up. I have like 18 cup holders and two glove boxes. I think mini vans are the best.

      @TheBoxingNinja@TheBoxingNinjaАй бұрын
    • @@DonLee1980 They should make a mini van limousine. The amount of comfort and luxury you can get out of a mini van... and then add more leg room and put a V8 or turbo V6 in it and call it a day. I get 24-26 miles a gallon in my van.

  • CCM rotors are neat, but yeah, virtually nobody truly gets their money's worth out of them. 1. Total system moment of inertia of CCM rotors vs equivalent two-piece iron rotors is lower, no doubt. But it's not nearly as much lower as some claim: CCM rotors are taller (more moment of inertia) the shed the same heat as iron, requiring taller wheels; and a lot of comparisons are done vs single-piece vs high quality two-piece rotors. It's a big difference, to be clear. 2. An equivalent iron rotor will last aaaaages for street use just like a CCM rotor; the idea that you're buying a "forever" rotor is only true if you compare against the autozone $8 rotors made out of melted pots. Any high end rotor will last absurd amounts of time for street use. CCM and high end iron rotors last a lot of track days, too, but obviously the cost per track day is many multiples higher for CCM - not to mention, heat checking is kind of whatever on iron rotors, but as soon as CCM starts to look grungy they're pretty much done. 3. Most of the fade comes from fluid and pads, and much of the coning in iron rotors comes from mediocre metallurgy and non-two-piece non-floating designs. Once you get proper calipers, proper brake fluid, proper lines, etc, and obviously proper pads, it takes a long time to learn to build and carry the kind of speed that'll cause high quality girodisc / ap racing / etc iron rotors to feel noticeably worse than carbon. 4. Don't confuse the feel of a cold brake system with firmness from CCM rotors. If you feel a difference without spending a while getting everything super hot, then the improvement is likely in the other components. 5. Yeah CCM dusts much less, but how much are you willing to pay for that vs cleaning your wheels? Cost-benefit. 6. Porsche people are sometimes like "you'll get it back on resale" but why would you want to tie up $10k in something that you literally wear away to stop at a r light, with the hopes of getting most of it back? Use properly or save your pennies. Most of the Porsche guys who track their cars regularly actually ditch the carbon ceramics. I was told by a few that they immediately remove them, and store them to put back on for when they go to sell the car. The reason being, steel blank rotors are cheap, and get swapped out regularly during track use. A good steel rotor, quality pads, sticky tires, and quality brake fluid with a big rotor and caliper setup will provide more stopping power than 99% of people can even utilize on track. In fact, if you are coming in on corner entry fast enough that a setup like that won't stop you, you'd probably be understeering into the barrier with carbon ceramics anyway. A carbon ceramic rotor, well... one rock/pebble that gets kicked up on track when someone goes into a gravel trap, and it can seriously damage that a carbon ceramic rotor, and that is a multi thousand dollar repair. Here's a front set of aftermarket quality carbon ceramic rotors. I just lol at the price. hinzmotorsport.com/ products/porsche-991-gt3-rs-gt2rs-surface-transforms-carbon-ceramic-discs-replacement-410×36mm-front-set Hell, race cars don't even use carbon ceramics. It's the ceramic part that leads to the brittle nature of them. They definitely do help with unsprung mass, brake dust, and resist brake fade significantly, but the costs of maintaining them on a car that is driven regularly on track just doesn't make sense. Even if you were going 200mph and slammed on the brakes all the way to zero, a carbon ceramic brake will not offer better stopping power to an approximately sized (and padded) metal rotor. Carbon ceramic brakes only offer brake performance advantages over metal rotors in terms of heat dissipation and fade resistance for repeated heavy braking like you would have on a racetrack. Now that said, carbon ceramic brakes are much lighter than metal rotors, so they greatly reduce un-sprung weight offering better handling, and greatly reduced rotational weight offering better acceleration. 1 upgraded my metal rotors to CC's on a Corvette Z06 once as no matter what I did for cooling and no matter what pads and rotors I ran I had terrible issues with brake fade on some local tracks, but the car was nearly dedicated to track days, and the CCB's worked really well and solved the fade problems; but it was an expensive solution that I am not sure I would do again. 1 honestly would never buy CCB's, or pay for optional CCB for a street car, even if that street car saw occasional track days. Now if I was tracking that street car every weekend, maybe, depends on the car.

    • I can, it docent have plastic everywhere in and out like the other two

      @MichaelYounes@MichaelYounesАй бұрын
    • @@MichaelYounes What are you even talking about plastic inside and out? They all have the same typical plastic parts on the outside (front and rear bumpers, wheel arches, side sills, sploilers). Though Porsche and Audi have a much classier look that doesn't look like a plastic toy (like the front end of the Urus). As for the interior, both the Porsche and Audi have better interiors. Porsche has high quality Alcantara on most surfaces (from steering wheel to ceiling liner, armrest, seat inserts, doorcards and more) and higher quality leather than Lamborghini on the rest. Audi has more traditional "luxury" Leather interior but still retains Alcantara for the steering wheel, headliner, upper doorcards, and side center console panels. The Lamborghini has the most plasticy interior of the three, particularly it's center console, where everything from the grab handles up the center stack and through the dash is plastic. Not only that, but the Urus has a train wreck of a design that looks like a 3rd graded came ip with it, and the interior looks more fitting of a $40k STI than a $250k SUV. The Porsche and Audi have nicer interiors, more features, and better styling inside and out. Plus the Porsche beats the Urus in a straight line and handily outhandles and outbrakes it, and is more engaging to drive. The RS Q8 lags behind the Cayenne (still in the same realm as Urus), but starts at $70k less than the Cayenne Turbo GT and $115k less than the Urus. It's also mechanically identical to the Urus, and with a $1k tune could handily outperform an Urus. Hell, even stock the RS Q8 beat the Urus Nurburgring record.

    • You're broke. People aren't buying these because of irrelevant performance numbers or to get the best out of their money. They buy it because it looks cool, sounds cool and is cool. The Audi and Porsche are not very cool@@zkiller195

      @gotworc@gotworcАй бұрын
    • @@gotworc I guess coolness is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe it's just me, but if I had to pick a winner out of these 3 in terms of "coolness", I'd pick the Cayenne Turbo GT. Honestly though, if I was looking for fast and practical, the RS6 Avant has more curb appeal than any of these crossovers. I'd take a sleek wagon over its bloated, lifted counterpart any day of the week.

  • why get rid of the air suspension? better for cornering/racing rather than cruising? genuinely curious & am asking

    @alexthejew420@alexthejew420Ай бұрын
    • Stiffer suspension means better handling. Getting rid of unnecessary things such as a sunroof, air suspension, seat heating and cooling etc… are all amazing ideas for saving weight. For example, another car like this is the GT3 RS that thing doesn’t have doorhandles it has straps instead. This is a performance car. It’s meant for the track, not for every day, cruising to the grocery store and picking up kids from soccer practice like the regular Urus.
