"Desperation is a necessary ingredient to learning anything or creating anything. Period. If you ain't desperate at some point, you ain't interesting."
- Jim Carrey
This is one of the most powerful videos I've edited on Absolute Motivation. It is such an incredibly motivational yet inspirational video but at the same time, the speech Jim Carrey goes into leaves you thinking deeply.

  • Hey guys, I just want to say that it's okay if you don't agree with what he is saying. Part of being an editor is about creating emotion for the viewer and so much of the other motivational channels is just around motivation and nothing deeper, this isn't a bad thing. I want to create videos that challenge your ideas, that make you question your paradigm and that will lead to more growth in your life. Motivation is essential in life but motivation on its own kind of becomes like a drug or like going on a porn site to get an emotion rush and then going on about your day. This is the reason I try my best to focus on putting a mixture of philosophical content within the motivational stuff. It is all about balance. I myself don't agree with everything Jim Carrey says or even does. And that's okay, we don't need to idolise him to see that some of the stuff he says has objective value. Try to keep an open mind. There is so much in this world that we don't know and that not even science can answer or religion so, instead of thinking we know everything lets become curious sponges and listen to all perspectives. Thank you so much for the support of my work over the years, whatever value it has given to you and your lives have been instrumental vicariously to me. I have chosen to find meaning in this and other creative ventures in my life. - Nav

Girls and even guys were crazy about him because he was the new hip thing. Just because you live in this time and don’t like his music means nothing. He revolutionized music in his time and it wouldn’t be the same without him.

    • E. M. Greene Its been said in eastern religions that go back long before jesus arrived. Its been stated by Buddha, Its been stated in the Bhagvad Gita, In Mahayana Buddhism (Zen), BodhiDharma, Mahavatar Babaji, Guru Nanak, Mohammed, Various Zen Masters, Monks, Gurus, Stated in the present time: Sadhguru, Eckhart Tollie, Alan Watts, Mooji,, To name a few. My point is: people who state Jeesus stated it forget the roots of its origin, Jeesus may have said it may have not (as we know the bible is a second hand account, how could someone have wrotten down word for word what he said but thats an entirely different matter) but we do not simply follow it because Jeesus said it right? Its thevmessage not the author of the message, this message has been delivered through so many enlightened beings not Just Jeesus. Jeesus was the son of god as much as All the insividuals iv stated, they were all enlightened beings they attained enlightenment and every human being can attain enlightenment, Which is the message that was lost in time, But now Eckhart Tollie and Sadhguru, Mooji, all living human beings who have reached enlightenment are in fact delivering the message today and they are all equal to the son of god. The phenomenon of attaining grace and enlightenment is through meditation, or a let go of everything an attachment to that which you cannot feel rather than the muscle tension that you feel as you. Its here like the air. You identify with the feeling of being the space around you that which you cannot feel and the space inside of you that which you cannot feel nothingness rather than emptiness its like an inverse of your avatar body. Most of our body is empty space (the space between the atoms of our body is empty and the space between the nuclei of an atom and space between its electrons. We are empty space, because we are the universe itself. You are the space-time fabric, behind your eyes that area that blind spot that which you cannot see feel that which is out of scope of your vision that which isnt even the color of darkness or black in your vision but rather an empty blind spot a spot which isnt seen its formless its weightless but its there and its your doorway or gate to transcend yourself and be free, you can feel the sensation of weightlessness when you simply step into this door and when you open your eyes and continue your activities your body feels light, it does not feel heavy it is not a drag, its normal life but you feel everything is easy nothing seems difficult. Your existence becomes very light

    @Sarah-lb8cs@Sarah-lb8cs2 жыл бұрын
    • A few years ago I *did* think he was crazy, or at least lost and far from being okay. I would not have truly understood what he was saying about there not being a self until I actually began to experience my life in this way of 'being everything'. They say that this kind of information is experiential, not 'scientific', this kind of information cannot be carried over by speech, the meaning of it is in the experience and without that experience it serves no purpose. This is unlike religion or military which serves a purpose whether you have experienced the information firsthand or not. However even though the experience of being all of our infinite parts is all of us I do believe that we are not to just be the 'primordial being', we are not just to stay as potential, as the mythological tarot 'fool', but rather we should still find the real love waiting for us, the real divine love that exists for us, the version of ourselves that is the child of a greater perfect love, which you can understand by these words said to the religious, which said basically, "your father is the devil, you don't know my father." If you understand infinity and you understand that you are the miracle possibility of that infinity, you are also the miracle possibility of having a destiny in which you have a chance to access the miraculous possibility of perfection, of an eternal infinite possibility that is the possibility that can access all dimensions at once. While we can drift aimlessly as we are, I encourage the ego also to still pursue a love like this. You will know if it is that love because when you touch that love, it doesn't make you just feel healed like a woman's touch, exposure to that love might destroy everything dark in you, it might even kill you. When I've touched it, it has cut all of my ambitions, my motivations, my bad intentions out of me instantly and left me seeing that all I tried to do is based on an identity that doesn't already have value and worth.

It is a cycle that people go through trying to become something/someone when we are without any outward add on. That feels true to me because people treat you better when you succeed or acquire or make something of yourself. I think that making something of your life is good for the purpose of having security, but I also think that all the trappings of life don’t make you anything… you are you without any of it. The best thing is to come to that understanding quickly as trying to find yourself doesn’t work and trying to find people to value you also doesn’t work. I do like/love God because I have a massive understanding of his acceptance and grace. Anyway, I think Jim Carrey is amazing and smart and he is just a kick to listen to. Love him.❤️

Your on the verge of some understanding but not there yet . Everything is consiousness , when your pineal gland is activated , you will see and once you do ,nothing looks , or feels the same . People of course treat u better when your doing good , wonder why ? Most people are users but people are attracted to people that have that inner light from gnosis of the secrets of this life , you eradiate that light , people emit light , I forget the measurement and people are attracted to that , not your success or make something of yourself . Your alive , your you, the only you that will ever be and why can't we have the joy and wonder if the joy of life ? The world is so oppressive , and in the afterlife , the church tells you that declare Jesus as your lord and savior , your saved , and boom your good and you'll go to heaven But for all the people they have brainwashed with that , are the ghosts and spirits manifested in this world because they are trapped , they have no idea of the afterlife , the different levels , the Archons , pass phrases you have to know to process . So meditate and activate your third eye and you will start to see everywhere , the duality and snchronicity of the 3d reality we live in

    • I know people are probably going to say I'm just too dumb to understand, but can anyone explain what this actually means? He says "Everything is Divine. there's no thing that isn't divine, everything is divine and I'm that. And it doesn't matter to me what's happening. I'm finding that ultimately the freedom from it is something people are kind of hungry for in a way. They're like, I don't want to be me either, and I go well great cause you never have been". I'm sure most people listening think they know what it means, but It's very easy to derive whatever meaning you want from this type of vague spiritual talk. I promise he isn't actually saying anything specific. If I asked every person who watched this video what the meaning of it was, they'd all give me different answers that aligned with their personal spiritual views. But of course if you heard someone else's interpretation, it would be very easy to translate what they said into something that fits your beliefs, even if in reality you're both saying something different. Everyone want's to feel like they understand some deep truth about the world and us as people, but no one does. The thing that bothers me the most about things like this is he's trying to imply that the things he's saying are inherent truths, but they absolutely aren't. I'm not trying to shit on anyone's spirituality. I just think it's important to listen to people who actually have something to teach you. Not just some pseudo-intellectual celebrity.

    • He is more than human, yet also human - and that is true of all of us, although very rarely in the same way. There are others like him; they are few, but they speak loud and long, if only we will hear. David Bowie was/is one of the same kind - although he, just as Jim Carrey, being also human, did not realise who/what he truly was until he had lived enough of "our" mortal life to understand what it means to wholly *BE* one of us again - and I say "again" because these people were once as we are, but - just as did Gandalf the White, who almost forgot the very name of "Gandalf" after he left the mortal realm where it had any meaning (Tolkien also knew the truth) - have gone beyond our reality, almost to the point of forgetting, but have *_chosen_* to return - because we *NEED* them, and they, like us, remember that they once learned from those who were then as they are now, and they wish to offer others the same knowledge which they gained. Their motivation cannot be known for sure, but it would seem to be alike to compassion and pity, since they always - but always - live hard lives by "our" standards: David Bowie, too, like Jim Carry, lived his own very difficult life (both private and public) as a series of unreal, self-generated "characters": that is no coincidence, nor is it a symptom of "mental illness" or "drug abuse", although these are common misinterpretations of something far different yet superficially similar to our partially sighted eyes. The few enlightened ones walk amongst us, as they always have, *_by choice_* - they need not be here, and that is why and how they carry the "other world" within them, visible to us yet unattainable by most of us, and try so hard to show it to us; it is for this very purpose that they walk again a difficult path which they no longer *_need_* to tread. The great religious teachers have been of the same order: Buddha, Jesus, and all who share their status in our minds and in our history; not for nothing are they known as "teachers" - for that is what they are - and it is also true that every last one of them did not have an easy path to follow in this life. Those who are ready to know what they can teach us - and to relinquish the worldly things which must be entirely given up in the process - will hear and understand; those who are not ready will perhaps still choose to advance a little, or even a great deal; and those who choose not to hear at all are not ready and will not advance - yet. After all, there is no hurry, for there *IS* no Time in the ultimate reality which we can sometimes glimpse, either ourselves or via the agency of the great techers of our time (and each age has its own truth-tellers); there is only that perception of Universal change which we see as such *_because_* we are finite in this mortal realm and therefore cannot conceive of the absence of Time, but the Infinite Divine quite literally has all the Time there will ever be, since it exists entirely outside of what we call Time, and all the patience, without limit, to wait for all of us; for the Divine, a second is as an age, and an age is as a second; there is no Time beyond what our mortality dictates there must be - in this realm. The Divine *WILL* eventually draw all of us unto it, as (not only) the Bible says; for we are *ALL* a part of it, even though we are not yet ready to stand alongside/within it... yet. Jim Carrey and those like him do their best to tell us the truth. The very fact that he knows that most who hear will not believe him, yet is so wholly at peace with this knowledge, vouches for how much he truly understands, and how far beyond the small confines of "self" he has advanced; yet if only *_one_* person hears him, even partially, then his journey here has been a success, and he knows it.

Going to college was awful, I had no energy, I never smiled, felt sad, or anything of the sort. I didn’t speak to people, even close friends really, and it just got to the point where I really wanted to die just because.. I no longer wanted to be me. But after hitting that point, I am now 19, and can say honestly that I got through it myself. Now I understand that nothing matters. And I don’t really put on a fake persona anymore. Sometimes people may think I’m boring, or that I’m sad, or that in general i may not be the most fun person to be around. But I no longer feel the need to be something I’m not. Because the truth is it’s my life, and I’ll live it how I want to.

My friends and I have been through so much to fight over and we never gave up on each other even when we did fight. That changed my life. Each of their families became my family. All of their hardships i shared shamelessly and before they even knew why i chose to share such pain they had learned to love me for it, because ive been on the other side alone and lost, back then i chose to never let go of 'who i am' someone that cares if nothing else.

He's never been raped. Never had a loved one murdered. Never served in combat and seen military brothers blown to bits. Never had to kill another person. Never lost a limb. Never been permanently disabled or paralyzed. Never diagnosed with a fatal diagnosis. I could go on and on and on. His experience is SO extremely limited. Therefore, I find it arrogant and pretentious of him assume that experiences which he has never dealt with can be circumvented in the way that HE imagines.

    • No one is small-minded because they disagree with his views. He's at the mid-life stage in life like myself and friends. We reached success, acquired all of the stuff that really is fucking useless to us at this point in our lives and so now we start to offload all of that acquired crap for a life of simplicity and truth. Self-truth that isn't about us anymore or the image of the characters we've all been, playing for the past fifty-something years. Self-truth is the only place where happiness can be found.

    • He’s always been awake. Did you not watch the video? :D he clearly explains that he was just playing those characters for the sake of giving people hope and entertaining people and making them think that there’s no need for worry cause the characters he portrayed didn’t worry and were just having fun. But deep inside Jim Carrey was always an awaken troubled mind, and will never find a peace of mind till death cause he’s too smart for it! But seriously tho, I hope he finds permanent peace in something at some point, and I hope that so will I and everyone else who’s seeking it ✌🏼

    • That's sort of obvious though, you are the collection of your experiences and how you've reacted. But you are who you are and that's where I don't agree with what Jim's saying. The important part I feel he's looking over is that you are who you are, how you react to situations decides the person you are now and will become. Someone is someone and personalities do exist. Otherwise why two people grow up in the same household and one become a criminal and one become a doctor. I'm aware that's a simple comparison but I do think people are who people are.

      @davidabbott2849@davidabbott28496 жыл бұрын
    • David Abbott Yeah that’s true but a “personality” is just the word we assign to how people act, which comes from nature and nurture. Two people might grow up in the same house but that’s just one similar drop in an ocean of different experience.

    • There is no "lost" or "found" ( this is ALL part of the matrix of spiritual conquest aka RELIGION) there is ONLY perception of what's right or wrong and this "perception" ( really just your conscious as well as subconscious opinion ) actually changes depending upon geographical location,physical attributes,monetary status,community status,family realation,etc so what you may consider "lost" may be exactly what i consider "found" and vice versa the laws that govern civilizations are decided by the same people that break them lol not one single action could be considered "evil" or deemed "wrong" without knowing the outcome or effect of said action ( you could murder a child in cold blood but end up saving ten from the vicious offspring this child would have produced) on the other hand no action can be deemed as "good" or "right" either. Because let's say you stopped me from murdering that child then it's child murdered ten children and 5 of those ten children were going to have children that would have changed the world for the better? But how could we EVER truly know in advance? So ALL we can do is ASSUME we are right or wrong and hope we convince everyone else of the same lol
