    • Eh, not really. A worn out Manning, and Brady going up against the best defense in the league. It was more of a battle between NE offense and Denver defense which is entertaining but most people wouldn’t even put it top 20 games in the past 10 years. Hell for me personally it might barely make top 50 in the past 10 years. I guess if you like the Broncos or dislike Pats I could see why but tbh this game wasn’t the most exciting outside of Brady and Manning being in it

    • @@Speedy-pb6dc @Jared Volle I was cheering for the patriots, actually. For me, it was about the defensive play. I love hard-hitting defensive games. There are games that yeah, had way better finishes, higher scoring...but i like how tense and methodical this was. It reminded me of 90s football so it's one of my faves. I can think of some games the last couple of years that were more exciting: chiefs/rams, niners/saints, vikings/saints, cowboys/packers, Patriots vs. Eagles and Falcons super bowls, also manning vs. brady in that afc title game in Indy would be on most lists...but I prefer that sunday night game with moss and welker on the pats to that one. Two of my favorites were games with manning as well: when he beat the broncos in denver with 3 reggie wayne touchdowns and a game against the steelers in Pittsburgh i forget what year of 2008-2010 it was. Another great one was packers vs. cardinals in the playoffs. Rodgers vs. Warner in an amazing duel. A lot of great ones kn this playlist: kzhead.info/channel/PLRdw3IjKY2gljzUFGcwPcxF0jTM-GVcjc.html Truthfully my favorite football game this century wasn't even pros, it was Clemson vs. Ohio State in the fiesta bowl a couple of seasons ago.

  • The last matchup of Brady v. Manning is memorable, but my favorite one was the 2007 AFC Championship- Patriots and Colts. Manning/Colts overcome a 21-3 deficit to win 38-34 and win SB 41. The fact that Tom Brady is still playing at an elite level at 44 years old gives testimony to how well he takes care of himself.

They gave him classy, encouraging words, and he gets understandably emotional. But he taught the crowd a different way of cheering. Finally I'll aways remember the game he played vs the Titans and it was like 3° and people said he couldnt play in the cold. • in addition to Demaryius and Ronnie passing away, the Broncos’ QB coach Greg Knapp died a few months before we all lost DT. PFM has gone of the record to explain just how special Knapp was and how much credit he deserved for not only the record-setting offenses of 2012-2014; but also the 2015 season. Manning has said that Knapp was able to guide Peyton through changing his entire career style of playing QB to become a guy who basically was able to get that once in a generation defense their rest between possessions and always in a spot where they were able to play their style of defense. To have a Hall of Fame QB change his entire mindset of how to play, on the go right as you’re headed into the playoffs and go on to win it all is unheard of! The fact that we lost Greg Knapp, and then a few months later we lose DT and then less than a year later Ronnie passes away…was just too surreal as a Broncos fan. I’m just happy that all three men were able to reach the pinnacle of their careers together and achieve something that’s forever: Champions.

The 2 FG drives were a product of solid field position off punts by NE deep in their own end. Not many teams would have the balls to say “go win the game, it’s 100% on you” w/ 43 minutes of game left against the most accomplished QB of all-time; but Wade Phillips & the defense proved up to the task in this game. A top 3 defense of the 21st century. Only 2000 Ravens & 2013 Seahawks even belong in the same conversation.

  • While his body had broken down and he could no longer do what we all were used to, the Broncos don't win Super Bowl 50 without Peyton Manning. Yes, the defense had a spectacular run in the playoffs, but they weren't that good during the regular season. Furthermore, with Brock Osweiler as the starter, Denver was about to slip to the 5th seed, and there's no way they run through the playoffs with him. Manning may not have been getting 300 yards and 3+ TD's anymore, but his brain was still perfectly healthy. He was still putting the Broncos offense into the right plays that sustained drives enough to either end in points or flip the field, while also giving that defense plenty of time to rest. He needed only to be a game manager for that run, and that's what he did. He could still make a lot of the throws, but it probably caused him a lot of pain. Also, Denver's offensive line was TERRIBLE at this stage.

Most Tom Brady fans I know have been pointing out how Mahomes played in that Super Bowl all offseason. I kindly point out that Brady has similarly struggled when pressured the same way Mahomes was in SB 55, but the difference was that Tom Brady’s defense played well in the 2015 AFC title game aside from two mistakes in the Red Zone by Jamie Collins on Owen Daniels. So that kept the game within reach for Tom Brady despite the hits & the struggles. The Kansas City defense allowed 4 TDs on their 1st 6 possessions. The two QBs had totally differing levels of team support in the 2 games. Brady got enough from his defense to give him a shot to be the hero. The game was basically over for Mahomes by the 3rd Qtr.

They got flat outplayed, blaming it on a missed extra point in the 1st Qtr. is a weak cop-out. NE was 4/17 on 3rd & 4th down, 2 of 5 getting TDs in the Red Zone & couldn’t sustain any running game whatsoever, as evidenced by Tom Brady finishing as the leading rusher. If Denver’s offense didn’t go into “just burn clock” mode the last 10 minutes of the game & actually attempted to sustain drives & run a normal offense; the game could’ve been over sooner w/ one more FG. New England just got caught off guard in the Red Zone twice on defense & couldn’t block the Denver Pass Rush at all; which is especially bad when you ask Tom Brady to dropback 60 times whilst rarely giving his O-Linemen help blocking. It just wasn’t their game to win. A missed PAT in the 1st Qtr is hard to pin the loss on given all the other problems New England had in this game.

So no, Denver managing one or two more field goals would not have mattered. It really did come down to that missed extra point. If Pats kick just one of those field goals Patriots win. Saying that the backwards pass is the difference is like saying if only Brady didn’t get picked 🤷‍♂️ PS considering that besides their first drive, Denver’s longest drive was 48 yards I doubt that they could put up more field goals even if they tried…

    • @@Pingo21 Brady’s two scoring drives were 21 yards & 52 yards. What you just said is more applicable to New England than Denver. You saying a missed extra point in the 1st Qtr is the difference but the backwards pass wasn’t is more a sign you are just butthurt that Brady & the offense laid an egg in this game than anything else. Both things happened in the 1st Qtr. Lol So you analogizing it to Brady’s pick at the end is just stupid & petty given that the missed extra point literally came on the possession following the backwards pass. So when something happens early & it effects your team “it was the difference” but not when something effects the other team in the exact same scenario/circumstances/point in the game LMAO New England went for it w/ 4 minutes left. It wasn’t unreasonable for Bellichick to assume they’d never see it w/ enough time. You should try a different sport, maybe basketball is more your speed.

  • I made the mistake of not watching much NFL this year, and missed this game. What a classic. So impressed by Edelman's effort to force the fumble on the final 2 point conversion after the INT, get injured in the process, only for his low awareness OL to fall on the football instead.

    • @@goldenhawkalumni5341 Peyton manning has better regular season per game stats til this day leading brady in completion percentage, tds per game, and yards per game. First 27 playoff games to first 27 playoff games manning has a higher completion percentage and gets more yards per attempt while brady throws slightly more tds per game and slightly less picks per game with no whole number seperating any of the stats so basically identical. The differences are .89 in completion percentage, .36 in yards per attempt, .22 in tds per game,.08 in picks per game. The defenses brady faced in the playoffs allowed more ANY/A than the ones manning faced yet manning got more ANY/A than brady in the playoffs. This is proof that manning was also a better qb in the playoffs. www.footballperspective.com/the-best-playoff-quarterbacks-in-the-super-bowl-era/ 5 times manning and brady faced the same team in the same playoffs. 07 against san diego, 09 the ravens, 10 the jets, 12 the ravens, 14 the colts. 3 out of the 5 times manning put up more points and 4 out of the 5 times manning put up better stats against these same playoff teams than brady. The 2 teams brady put up more points against were the jets who brady already faced twice that season, and the 2014 colts that peyton played with an injury against. This is proof peyton is a better playoff qb. Head to head in the playoffs when they had even teams manning is 3 and 2 against brady, 3 and 1 in the championship game which is the biggest game they couldve played in. Peytons better in reg season or playoffs so peytons the goat

    • @@yotho9977 Peyton played in a dome which has always helped the QB stats you use. Especially when compared to Foxborough in January. You would need 27 more TDs or picks to have a full number. An alternative way to say it is Brady had 7.5% more TDs (43/40) and 12% less INTs (22/25). Brady did have 15% less yards, but see my previous point about the dome. Both Manning and Brady are fantastic field generals, and so it is fitting that every playoff game they faced each other the home team won. Besides that, Brady had 7 game winning drives in those 27 games while Peyton had just two. When you consider Brady won 70% of games in the playoffs and Peyton only won 52% that shows the clutchness of Brady. Take away the game winning drives for both and they are both just winning 12 games.
