This fall, The Marvels take flight.
Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol's estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Yeah it's almost like Marvel originally created superhero comic books for children, or something lol. So many great, epic, deep, end-of-the-world movies like Infinity War and Endgame keep being made that people seem to keep forgetting that superheroes and superhero movies were initially supposed to be geared towards kids. I love the deeper, epic movies but I feel like at least some of them can be a little more kid-friendly once in a while.

Aside from the misogyny it’s also so weird that people would say that based on such small material that is a poster and trailer before the movie even came out. I enjoyed this movie WAY MORE than Captain Marvel. Unlike the first, Captain had personality in this. She was so dry and expressionless in the first to the point that it felt like her actions in the first movie and End Game were all unwarranted.

At the very least you will have to give this movie that it had fantastic trailers that make it look like they're addressing the big issues with the first movie, primarily by giving Brie actual charming characters to bounce off of. Easily the best parts of the first were when Carol was just hanging out with Fury, Talos, Maria and Monica. Sticking her with Monica and Kamala for the whole thing seems like it'll be a slam dunk. Plus DeCosta really seems to know what she's doing in this, easily the biggest advantage this has over the original

It's a good film. I find it enjoyable. That's if I disregard the Monica character entirely. Not sure if it was her character or the actress that is so broken. It's like she doesn't know how to act smart. If the acress was better, even the dumb lines would have worked. Ms Marvel is perfect. Captain Marvel is perfect if you take out Brie's shocked and dumb look. But it's the same in 1st movie so I guess no solution to that. Audio and song choice is better than 1st movie. There is still some few comedic lines that doesn't work. This doesn't even compare to Eternals.

You can just see that Iman Vellani is having the time of her life right now. Though I will say I thought the first trailer was better, this is still looking to be a really good movie. The Kree literally gave her a full blood transfusion just to convince her she was a Kree warrior. In this movie she has reconnected with her human side.

Nope, it's not a matter of comparing Marvel's early works to this movie. Let's just deal with the fact that this movie sucked. It was disjointed, confusing, and the tone of the movie changed from moment to moment. The big villain was easily the weakest villain in the MCU. Brie Larsen was fine, but every time she tried to do the things we wanted to see her do, she disappeared and a short chubby teenage girl flashed on screen and screeched, "This is SO COOL!!!!". No, honey, it really isn't cool at all. Not many of us walk into an MCU movie hoping to see teenage hi-jinks. But, I guess that's the route Marvel is taking now. Too bad. At the time I wrote this, The Marvels has completed its run in theaters. $84.5 million in the U.S., $121 million outside the U.S., for a total of $206 million. This movie cost well over $300 million to make and market. So, good job, Disney. You managed to turn one of the most iron clad, fail-proof franchises in the world, the MCU logo, into something that can lose massive money. It's my understanding that in the future there will be a lot more females, especially young girls, and kids, and I can imagine even more zany teenage fun and hi-jinks. I can see more box office bombs too. People are not idiots. They loved the original MCU movies because of the quality, the story-lines, and the evolving characters whom we care about. Now, I mostly find myself rooting for the villain to kill off these unlikable heroes.

I agree lol. Similar to Peter Parker. But Peter and Kamala have different backgrounds except one thing. That is both of them got their superpowers Outta nowhere. But the difference is Kamala had pretty much admired superheroes since her childhood, so getting a superpower is completely different from Peter getting his Spidey powers. Another thing is iman is one hell of an actor and plays the fangirl naturally really well. So just like every Marvel movie post endgame, I'm not gonna keep my hopes too much up but will go without a predetermined, biased mindset lol

Wandas hole story in Wandavistion is instantly undone in MoM don’t get me wrong I love some of the shows moon knight sand Hawkeye being my favourite but but that’s because there just shows they may set up another season but for the most part it’s contained. What I was trying to say is I love the fact that it’s now a multi year gap between the set up from ms marvel to this. I think the issue I find with the shows is they set up movies that are realising until years later and in that time between show and movie the narrative direction has changed and they feel disconnected. The shows that have worked best are the more self contained ones that introduce new heroes and aren’t a massive part of a wider story like falcon and winter soldier was like if you want the shows to lead into movies great but the movie showed be the next thing out after the show and work as like a final episode or at the very least be the same year of release

im really afraid it's gonna be a flop. im a fan of Marvel movies (but most of the latest are really bad) and Brie Larson but I don't wanna be disappointed
Brie Larson shocks Disney by giving the studio their biggest flop ever losing 237 million. The Marvels also gave MCU their biggest flop in 15 years of franchise history, an embarrassing effort from a once powerful franchise. Blaming the The Marvels flop on gender bias is ridiculous when less than 40% of women bought tickets to The Marvels. A brick has more screen presence and depth of character than Brie Larson.
