Offspring refused "laundry day" parody of "come out and play". They called it "silly" (duh). Yes he played it live on the Bad Hair Day tour, but he was refused permission to release it as an official parody. Later they agreed to "pretty fly for a rabbi". As someone else noted, Eminem refused a video. And Coolio and Flea said negative things about Al's parodies of their work. What I wrote was true, except mistaking the Eminem refusal for a song instead of a video.

I was one of the five people who paid to see UHF in theaters (well, my dad paid for my ticket). I loved it back then, still love it today.
I am the sixth.
It's high time Al actually starts getting considered for a Hall of Fame nomination. He's had a greater career than 75% of the bands he's parodied
A very outgoing, intelligent, and hilarious dude. He’s all over the place. He earns the respect that we have for him and knowing how he gets right into character for videos of song parodies like no tomorrow.
Weird Al is a national treasure. And UHF is a classic.
Weird Al is such a nice down to earth guy, I have never met anybody who didn't like him and don't think I would want too
coolio doesn't like him
to last vid I saw they said "I saw to of these together". now you're a dumbass.
@@dwiganstube Coolio is still around? Hadn’t heard anything since the late 90s.
I saw Weird Al live when I was in high school 20 years ago. Amazing performer. It honestly was shocking how good he is live, wasn't expecting that
Weird Al is a living legend.
Kinslayer Author Not some ordinary freak!
Not true
UHF is one of my all-time favorite movies. The skits/parodies incorporated into the movie are pure comedy gold.
Movie UHF "Hey kids! We're going to Spatula City!" "NO WAY!!!"
They sell spatulas... and that's all!
"What better way to say 'I love you' than the gift of a spatula."
I'm gonna club this seal for a better d- Oh wait, wrong advertisement
Underrated movie
Buy ten get one for a penny!!
a modern day legend
Seen him live in Florida last year, one of the best shows fucking ever.
Weird Al is AWESOME!
Why is he not in the Rock-n-roll hall of fame?
They have to induct several more rap pop artests first
Politics man, politics..
He belongs in the Polka hall of fame.
UHF was severely under rated comedy. I haven't seen it in a long time. But the movie gave me lots of laughs as a young teenager. Kind of a bummer to hear it brought Wierd Al so low.
how does this man not age? He's the best looking 60 year old I've ever seen
Never worked a day in the sun...
Clean living. No drugs or drinking, vegetarian, and stays active.
Probably helps that the video is 5 years old, too.
Time has been inordinately kind to him. Not to mention, his lifestyle of good eating and contortionism (seriously, watch his interview on SGC2C) has made his body resilient.
Has anyone else noticed that Weird Al without the mustache looks like Sir Cliff Richard?
Love Weird Al. Great GREAT musician.
Two of the my favorite artists ever
that drum and bass line reminds me of "big bottom" by spinal tap lol. It isnt a rip off or anything, just reminded me of that song.
Weird Al is the baddest motherfucker alive...
He's so gorgeous and funny. His wife is very lucky.
He just makes jokes in the bedroom..
@@JustAWatcher73 put that jealousy urself virgin
I ran into Weird Al one time at Tower Records on the Sunset Strip. One of the best, if not the best run in I've ever had with a celebrity. So nice & humble.👍
weird al is a fucking genius. took my son to see him twice (al is the only music of mine that my pop-listening son likes), and he slayed both times. kurt was cool enough to recognize what al does, unlike some (the offspring refused him once, Eminem did, Coolio and Flea dissed Al's work, and prince, RIP, never dug Al)
Bunch of no fun having Mother fuckin' plebs.
Cheetah Thunders. Eminem allowed the song, but not a video.
Al told in an interview that Prince purple rain was the only one who ever rejected him also Yoko Ono for a John Lennon song (if he was alive maybe he said yes). And he parody two offspring songs one on a record the other just for live audience, for a big fan u really dont know many things.
Wiki say it is n't clear, and Al himself didnt mention it after they ask him who refuse his request. It is just a rumor.
This reminds me I’ve been wanting to rewatch UHF.
It’s hard to take a serious Weird Al seriously 😂 I was one of those fans who saw UHF in theaters.
Legend has it this was actually Weird Al's song originally and Kurt liked it so much he asked Weird Al if he could parody it hardcore grunge style but to keep it between them.Weird Al agreed and today we have Nirvana...Legend has it.
WEIRD AL ON LOUDWIRE, that's freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved UHF!
I've watched UHF dozens of times. I love that movie.
I saw UHF in a theatre in Eau Claire, WI, I believe. Might have been a matinee.
This is such a cool story. This video deserves far more views than it received.
That's easily one of the coolest dudes alive right there.
wow, Al is freaking everywhere!
UHF is still one of my favorite movies.
I HIGHLY recommend you watch uhf if you have not seen it
We need a UHF 2
That last bit of music is a bassy version of Bleed the Freak by AiC isn't it... I'm on to you, guy...
😂 I just watched uhf today. Great movie.
Him saying the intro of the Loudwire interviews, 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆😆😆
Weird Al was the first concert I went to - Running With Scissors tour at the Minnesota State Fair
That baseline in the beginning kinda sounds like bullet with butterfly wings
A little like Swallowed by Bush too, though I like SP a lot more.
Bassline there buddy not baseline
I had a lot of good things happen to me this year, but among the best was having Al fling a glass of water in my face while he was in character singing this song and doing the gargling bit. Thanks Al.
A great tale by one of the centuries great musical talents!
his third album went gold instead of platinum. he had to buy the medium Jacuzzi.
Weird Al Yancovic; One of the greatest Earthlings who ever lived. ❤👍\m/
What an in depth interview..
Badgers? Badgers? WE DON'T NEED NO STINCK'N BADGERS!
Your not famous until weird AL does a parody of one of your songs.
Don't fret Al, we still watch UHF regularly at my house. I'm going to go put on Strange Brew now, see ya
Al can play any kinda music you want him to from country to gangsta rap to grunge he can do it all!!
UHF is shot so well. What a comical masterpiece.
I love weird Al. He is a good musician. He's smart for the idea of taking popular songs writing some parody lyrics and cashing in on a song's already huge popularity. It's an incredible idea that works for him
I would consider it a great honor if I had a song that Weird Al decided to parody.
Weird AL never ages.
weird al is awesome. i remember back in the day bringing my in 3-d cassette over to a friend of mines house and playing him some of my favorites off that tape. his parents were real bible thumpers and they must have been listening at the door when nature trail to hell started playing and all of a sudden the door burst open, they turned it off and told me to leave and so i grabbed my tape and left. He called me a little while later and told me i wasn't aloud over anymore. oh well at least i still had my weird al cassettes.
NO ONE DISSES WEIRD AL YANKOVIC!
I had the "Smells like Nirvana" single on cassette. "Waffle King" was the B side."Hey batter batter!"
Love this guy
The parody of Al was far more respectful of Kurt than all his "fans"
Before clicking on this video, I saw that KZhead has that UHF movie available for free.. I'm about to watch it for the first time.
Weird Al reminds me of a high school science teacher with intense Halloween decorations in his lab.
Loved UHF. The Rambo scene was hilarious.
Rock and Rolls best lead Accordion player ever!
*Krist novoselic*
I can totally imagine this phone conversation. I can just hear Kurt's voice.
Music in beginning? What is that? Sounds familiar
kind of sad weird al was bummed out by uhf's performance. it was a great movie and had such an impact me and my friends.
Hearing the first 1/10th of the note of the intro/outro to the vid I thought Comfortably Numb was gonna play lol
Ooh I fucking love UHF! It's made childhood awesome..
Who would even think to sing with marbles in their mouth?! Lmao 🤣 🤣
I remember first telling this story on Arsenio as a kid. That song was his biggest hit until “White and Nerdy”.
I love weird Al, what a cool guy.
Seems like a really good guy
UHF is such a culture classic....if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.
I loved the movie "UHF"
Idk why the start made me laugh so well
Lol did you interview him or just pass a question while crossing him down a hallway
if you haven't watch UHF if you haven't you haven't lived
UHF is a goddam classic.
I loved UHF! Still do.
UHF was a GOOD movie damn it!
I gotta' say....many years later, and I still laugh my ass off watching UHF. Sad it didn't do better.
What is the name of the song in the background?
Weird Al needs Fact or Fiction
All I got to say is, bargle nawdle zouss.
I love him. Seems like a cool intelligent dude
weird al has had me busting a gut for 25+ years.
I hope Al knows how much some of us love UHF. It's a classic.
