I’ve always been impressed at how down to earth and unassuming Weird Al is. The dude has basically been an American cultural institution for 30 years and still acts like like he’s just happy to be there. I admire that type of humility.

Weird Al helped me get through my childhood. I was raised in an apocalypse cult, and they were super strict about music, movies, any media really. Because Weird Al was funny and didn't swear, i was allowed to listen to his music. He helped me stay aware of both cultural attitudes and trends through the content of his music, and brought modern music into my home so that i knew what the music others were listening to sounded like. It made me laugh and made me feel less alone. Thank you, Weird Al.
It's kind of upsetting to hear that people associated his music with a lot of the profane and racist parodies of songs that have been made. Al's parodies have always been unique in that they were never vulgar or overtly offensive. It was good, clean comedy that still managed to be hilarious. Al is a legend.

I seen him live in 2006. He changed costumes about 25 times during the show, and hit some of the most phenomenal notes I've ever heard. Weird Al is a proper artist with Incredible talent. Plus his interviews with Madonna, Eminem, and K Fed slaughter me.

I met Weird Al after one of his concerts. He was giving out free autographs and he let his fans walk right up to him in line. When I told him that my dad has been a fan since he was a kid and I have been a fan since I was a kid too, he said "Thanks so much". Just him saying that made me so happy. He was so nice and genuine. He's a good guy.

The way that Al smiles and looks at Sean, because he's REALLY listening and is interested (ala 11:29) makes me feel happy and smile too. Al is just great to everybody.
I was working at a restaurant about 15 years ago and Al's group came in when they were in town. He was really quiet and let the group have fun. He was EXREMELY nice to us/staff. getting to meet a childhood hero like him, and have him be a cool as he was, is still one of the coolest experiences of my life!!

@@vaprex I would say the point of the show is the sauce more than the wing and Al did taste the sauce. You could replace the wing with a chip and it wouldn't make a difference because it's about reacting to the sauce which he did react to. It may not be like other celebrities but to be honest who wants to actual have flaming diarrhea later on?

I just recently saw Weird Al in concert! He was my first ever concert, and while he may not have been as energetic as in his past concerts, it's definitely on my list of my best life experiences ever
I've seen dozens of concerts. I saw Weird Al for the first time in 2016 and it's still the best show I've ever attended. I saw him again last year and it is still in the top 5.
I saw him in concert about 1985 at Vally Fair in Minnesota. It was the most energetic show I've ever seen. He jumped and ran around so much he had sweat flinging from his hair by the end of the first song. It was amazing.
I saw him live at the Minnesota State Fair. His shows are amazing

My good buddy was the lighting designer on one of his tours. Typically the talent goes off to do their own thing in their downtime but Al genuinely enjoyed the company of his crew and would hang out and eat meals with them more than anything else. He's just a really sweet, nerdy, good hearted man who never let his success change him. He just does his thing and is thrilled it makes people happy.
I only knew Weird Al from some of his parody songs and was always really casual, never went above an admitation because I really want to learn the accordion and he's like. An icon. But this man is such a delight to watch he genuinely seems like such a cool guy!!! The "I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS" killed me XD He seems very endearing :))

Sean Evans is such a great interviewer. He does his research, and he does it deep enough that sometimes the people responding are like, wow, let me think about that while I manage this wing that I'm eating as you ask me questions. It's a great format, and he's a great interviewer.

I met Weird Al two years ago, and he was the nicest, most down-to-earth person ever! Fame hasn't gone to his head at all. I took my daughter for her 14th birthday. She is a huge Weird Al fan, and she cried when he hit the stage, she was so excited!

I loved him as a young girl myself. I am 30 now and saw him at her age in concert too. My mom introduced him to my brothers and I. We had his VHS tape of his videos.
I was a fan of Al too, once. That ended when I met him in real life and he picked me up and used me as a flesh accordion while laughing maniacally. I will never forget the horrifying sounds that escaped me on that day.
I met him back in 1999 at the local mall. He was browsing the music at FYE, and I went up to him to say hi. He turned, extended a hand for a handshake, and said hello as well. Probably chatted with him for about 15 minutes, and the manager at FYE brought out a 12x12 (record size) promotional poster of Al’s latest album to have signed for me. I was born in '83. Weird Al, Minnie Driver, and Rebecca Gayheart were my curl icons. He made me laugh and made me comfortable with my curls. I will always respect him for just being himself.

Weird Al is my favorite musician of all time, and the only "proper" concert I have ever attended. 😀 I'm one of those that usually hears Weird Al's version of the song long before I hear the original. Countless great parodies and fun for all ages. I even got to meet him once, and while he is SO BUSY, he still was cordial and kind to everyone. Great interview, Sean. (:
