How to make Piper PA-18 Super Cub RC Plane scale model (scratch build video tutorial & maiden flight)
Materials: 5mm extruded polystyrene XPS foam (Depron), balsa, aircraft plywood

What a time to be alive. I love that we can buy a machine to laser-cut parts right in our own home. My hobby addiction took a definite turn when I bought one. My projects got... out of control lol

A random Vid popped up on KZhead . . . Having built RC planes 40yrs ago I had to watch. . . absolutely fantastic my friend. A little smile and chuckle broke my lips as did your pre flights and then it grew and grew as you took off and put it through it's paces ending with me laughing out loud and saying YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS . . . Not sure what my neighbour thought Thanks for really great watch.

Love the way you build this plane. The materials you use, the precision of fit of the parts you create. All very well thought out. The final result is a light-weight plane that comes close to the original when it comes to handling and behaviour in the air.
Your models are going beyond "next level". It must have taken ages to design this. PS. I love that bamboo skewers still have a place in the builds. 😅

Outstanding construction video. I really appreciated the fact that there wasn't any sound except that made by the actual construction process! It is a beautiful airplane that flies exactly like the full-sized aircraft!
100% zen, better and clever ASMR kind of. From cutting to flying. Beautiful slow flight, it's like a rubber band aircraft from my childhood flying longer. I like the removable tail system, very worthy. Thank you for this channel!
And this is what modeling looks like... Creation, attention to detail and classy execution. Then the flight is only complete and pure satisfaction.
I really like that you use whatever medium is best suited for the job; be it balsa, ply, foam, or bamboo. Same for the processes you use. So many people will make a "foam plane" so EVERYTHING has to be foam. Or they will make a "cnc-cut plane" so EVERYTHING has to be cnc. My hat's off to you!
I have never seen construction of an airplane model using insulation foam and balsa together. Very interesting build. I learned something new watching you build your model airplane. You did things I never knew how to do or make. I loved your video.

Superb! I really like the combination of polystyrene and balsa wood. This is probably the best scratch build flying model I have ever seen. I would like to have a ready to build kit like this in the market. Sincere congratulations and thanks for sharing your tips and video.

when i was a boy i built a lot of balsa kit planes similar to what you're making but they always ended up very heavy for rubber powered flight but i would put small cox motors on them like the .010, .020 and .049. i could not have r/c plane but flew them as free flight in a large field and it was a lot of fun. it's nice to see how you do it. thnx for the demo.
When When it comes to toy airplanes, for my money, only lightweight ones are interesting. You’re doing it right. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing.

This really is a beautiful way to build a mode aircraft. A mix of both modern and classical methods of construction. Well done.😊 ps: A small criticism I would make is a brief explanation of the “thrust adjustment compensation” and how important it is to get it right would have been a good idea. Maybe written on-screen to maintain that quiet video feel you were going for. 👍

Now to make this perfect would be to offer this as a kit to those like myself that don’t have that great little laser cutter although the more I see things like this the more I’m thinking of getting one, beautiful work by the way, this is the most perfect looking Rc aircraft Imo as it’s traditional construction and covered so you can see it all🙂👍

Hey bud, I’m a retired professional chef who has thousands of hours of experience using knives and other very dangerous equipment that the average CRY BABY will never use. YOUR skill is awesome, KEEP cutting toward yourself because your skill level is well A-B-O-V-E the Far Too Many Wimps that are incapable of using that technique, and YES, even chefs Cut Towards ourselves sometimes. Great job and an awesome build.

Я бы при резке любой пены раскалённой проволокой, надевал бы противогаз, при резке поролона выделяется сенильная кислота, очень опасная хрень, при вдыхании. А работа, просто ахренеть, классная. Ты профи мастер!!!
