If Jake had any chance at all of hurting mike it would’ve been with 8’s. He can’t hurt mike with 16’s on. Mike on the other hand, could take Jake’s head off in 32 oz gloves no problem.

To hell with Boxing. Let's look at Mike Tyson as a man. He started from the ghetto, and against all odds made it to the top of the boxing world, was..and still is one of the greatest champions of all time. Had an unfortunate fall from grace. Yet still clawed his way back , and has become a great example of what it takes to succeed. Hats off to Mr. Tyson. Well done.
I don't understand why they would want to do an EEG. I've worked as an EEG tech in a hospital and now as an MSN RN. While an EKG might be somewhat relevant to assess potential arrhythmias, an EEG seems nonsensical in this context. Generally, EEGs are used as a complementary diagnostic tool for conditions like seizures or brain damage. In cases of recent head injury, they can show severity and healing progress. However, I can't imagine a situation where a pre-fight EEG would determine if someone is fit to compete. It seems more likely that they want the visual of wires for a sense of 'official' evaluation, but ultimately it's a pointless procedure.
Dr Jamnadas stuff on heart treatment. He says ECG are not showing heart disease, really, you can't tell how blocked artery is from ECG, right either, I dunno about EEG,

Yeah, this has to be a typo. Even a pre-fight EKG doesn’t make that much sense. If the fighter’s hearts are a concern, presumably the concern is Tyson’s heart given his age. They should do a stress test like, right now, during training camp. Get Tyson’s heart rate up to max and see if there are any arrhythmias. Doing it pre-fight while fighters are cool isn’t going to do anything. Tyson could still keel over and die in the ring but pass the pre-fight EKG. It makes sense to do it now so that they don’t lose money promoting the fight only to cancel it at the last minute for a test that could have been done right now. EEG i can’t think of any reason at all unless the expectation that one of them is going to die in the ring lol. “Confirmed, the fighter laying in the ring has no brain activity, we probably should have done CPR instead of doing this EEG, also…this fight was a terrible idea” lol.
It could be to see if Tyson has early onset CTE, from 20yrs of head punches. Not sure though.

Tyson was playing with Roy Jones Jr, you could see him holding back, and rightfully so. But Jake being a young man, Jake ain't going to get the same pass. I’m in the same boat as you. I fully agree with everything you said. He was really just kinda toying with Jones Jr. I just turned 40 and boxed a bit in the army and have just started training again for some possible amateur fights. Iron Mike scares me to death. Paul… not at all. Lousy footwork. Rely’s too much on the straight right. Also he doesn’t know how to fight inside. Tyson might be one of the best inside fighters I’ve ever seen. His hooks are legendary.

I think you're spot in, if the fight drags past 5 rounds Paul has a good chance of gassing out Tyson. However, the skill difference is immense. If Tyson can catch him in in some 3-5 combinations and land a strong cross it's going to hurt Paul a lot. 16oz gloves deaden impact but the force applied is still there, if Tyson can get some rotations on the head of Paul he'll drop, and Paul isn't known for really strong defense. I hope they actually go for it, it will be a really interesting fight to watch if so.

@@hasnahgrundy Releasing training footage is a psychological warfare technique. Tyson was HUGE on intimidation and would make eye contact with his opponent from the moment he entered the ring. The modern age just makes it that much easier. I think Paul needs to have a bathtub filled with it so he can just jump right in from the ring lol.

its interesting you quote where he said "I'm scared to death" in that Fox interview, but he was also asked in that interview about the rules floating around about 16oz gloves etc. And he literally said none of those rules are true. He did say it would be considered an "exhibition" just so the fight can go through but they will wear normal gloves, no head gear etc.

Jake's record is only 0/1 as a professional fighter. Against Tommy. All the rest were retired boxers ,non boxers, washed up fighters, Now he wants to fight the godfather of boxing.
Paul has beaten 2 pro boxers. Andre August, who is ranked 416th in the world, and Ryan Bourland, who is ranked 373rd in the world. Bourland came out of retirement from 2022 to fight Paul earlier this year. August doesn't have that great of a record, with his opponent before Paul being a guy that hadn't fought for 4 years.

I don't think he seems slow and sluggish. But of course, this should all be treated with caution. I don't really understand all this EEG and EKG nonsense anyway. 3 rounds of light sparring one or two days before the show fight, that would be more meaningful. I also do medical reaction tests and stress ECGs...

We use to have local tough man contest years ago.. we had a older man in his late 50's early 60's that dominated every opponent he stepped in the ring with.. he won so many fights, and the 1st place money that they eventually retired him out, not allowing him to fight anymore.. the dude still came as a courtesy guest of the event organizers, and he would still talk straight junk to the new winners and offer to fight the winners of the grandprize without putting the money on the line.. dude was a BEAST and local legend.. I dont know what the outcome of the mike and paul fight will be. I hope Mike dont sell out on us and flushes that turd..

Let's just be honest; Tyson retired saying he 'doesn't have it in him anymore' after going 1-3 in his last four, the last person beating him being Kevin McBride, who went on to go 2-6. This was *19 years* ago, a lot that time he spent smoking weed and taking mushrooms. He's now 57. Mike is a remarkable person but this is such a circus.
