  • Staying at a self catering holiday residence in York (UK), bought a can of meatballs in gravy. Upon opening found just gravy. It felt weird walking back to the supermarket, with my eldest son, (7yo), with receipt, and lid of can loosely placed without trying to spill any gravy. When the staff apologized and went to give me a replacement can I asked 'how do I know this can has meatballs in?'. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is shake numerous cans of meatballs trying to determine if they actually had meatballs inside them, not just gravy. I eventually told my son to go the chilled section, pick up some meat balls then come back to me.Took him a little while, bless his heart, but came back with a store employee that helped him. I obviously thanked her, and accepted the replacement can. I then asked the employee that helped my son to find some gravy mix, (just in case), and she happily scuttled of and came back virtually straight away. (Obviously it was closer than I thought it was,but I didn't know the stores layout.) Thanking her profusely me and my son went to check out. We weren't given any discounts or anything, after all it was just a can of meatballs, so I was happy. When we got back to our holiday place, my Son and I eagerly attacked the replaced can. Guess what? Just gravy. We looked at each other and just burst out laughing. My son and I prepared the meatballs that he got from the chilled aisle, with the gravy mix, my Wife having puzzled expressions on her face during preparation, but when we sat down to eat told both her what happened. She started laughing as well. (No we didn't just have meatballs and gravy, we had 2 veg as well). I went back to the store the next day, (It was closed by the time I started cooking, ....sorry, by the time my son and I started cooking), and presented the meatball less can. I would love to say they were shocked, but no. I showed my receipt and they gave me a refund. (It's only a can of meatballs after all!) . I pointed out the production date on the can and said other cans could be be affected. They gave me a funny look and tried to dismiss me. It cost them. I found out later that they had numerous complaints and ended up clearing the shelf until the next delivery.

  • The road lines. My brother worked for the road department when I was a kid and he accidentally painted a set of lines like you saw. We used to laugh at him every time we passed that section of road. When I was in the army they were painting lines in a parking lot and all the drivers were told to move their vehicles for an hour or so while they did the job. One captain refused and when he went to get his porsche at the end of the day he found they had painted the lines right across the front of his car.

    • @@bIuefox The water can go into the socket as much as it wants to but unless someone is actually holding onto the appliance that's plugged in, biting into the power socket OR the entire pool is made of metal and filled with salt water, the worst that'll happen is a slight tingling from the power that's leaking out into the poorly conductive water. More realistic is the circuit breaker will trip due to a surge.

  • I've been working for McDonald's for eight years and you'd be surprised how often that big mac problem happens. New employees do it constantly. You have to watch them like a hawk the first week to ten days. It's really hard to do your own job because you have to constantly watch them. The grill and fryer job is even more nerve racking to train because some mistakes can potentially poison multiple customers. 😮 Everything is automated for that job. All temperatures are preset and the timers are built into the equipment. Every day, right before lunch and also right before breakfast, the managers come in the kitchen and help us test the equipment to make sure everything is cooked to a safe temperature. I caught a guy last week sticking nuggets in a fry basket and sticking the whole thing, basket and all, in a freezer. That way he could save time when things got busy. The problem is, the basket becomes very cold and when you put it in the oil, it cools down the oil and the nuggets might not cook to the proper temperature. This guy never listens to a word I say so I just went to my manager and narced the lazy bones out. Food safety is nothing to screw with. People die from it. Remember Jack in the Box. A three year old boy died from a tainted undercooked burger. 😢

And what happened was the customer probably (pain in the assed it) asked for square cut. The person working the ovens didn’t realize it was square cut at first and cut it like normal, then read the tag and went “crap”. I have been there and have done that. Happens mostly on a Friday night where the customers who don’t like crust ask us to special cut it. Honestly sometimes you don’t have enough time to pay attention to the tag so crap like that happens. The one I cut was way worse lol.

  • 27:48 That's a technique used to ensure that people (kids mainly) don't take loads of sheets of kitchen towel. The roll won't spin, so if you want to take loads off, you have to take your time. If you do it that way, you can't fly off loads of sheets. So it may be intentional. I've seem other people use this method, and their children don't waste loads of kitchen towel. It's also a great way to rip off one sheet with one hand and not unravel loads of sheets.

    • Exactly, I actually always do this because I hate it when I need to use both hands just to quickly rip off one sheet, and even then it can rip off where it shouldn't be ripped. So I do this and also put something hard on that metal thingy so it won't spin at any cost, and then I can just grab one piece by one hand or by teeth if I had to. WAAYYY EASIER

Both for the person waiting outside the stall and the person inside.

    @Kalisfuturewaifu@Kalisfuturewaifu9 ай бұрын
    • Sure, cause people pass out constantly on the toilet in the USA. Here in Europe one would just knock on the door, if it remains closed for a suspiciously long amount of time. On some stalls there is a small gap on the bottom, just high enough to see someone's feet. It doesn't need to be higher than that! About the fear of locks malfunctioning, we use plastic locks that give way after putting your shoulder against the door...
