A tribute I put together a couple of weeks after Greece's amazing win of the Euro Championship in 2004.

  • 10 χρονών τότε... Μπαίνει το γκολ... Τρελάθηκε ο πατέρας μου, τούμπα το τραπέζι, ποτήρια, μπύρες, σαλάμια και τυριά στο πάτωμα, αγκαλιές με τη μάνα μου, και στην ταράτσα με το δίκανο στη λήξη του αγώνα. Μία από τις πιο συγκινητικές στιγμές των παιδικών μου χρόνων, θυμάμαι ότι πρώτη φορά στη ζωή μου εκείνη τη μέρα έμαθα τι σημαίνει να κλαις από χαρά. Ελπίζω να ξαναζήσω μια τέτοια βραδιά στο μέλλον... Σας ευχαριστούμε από καρδιάς μάγκες :'(

  • I'm a Chilean of Greek blood from both my parents, and I'm already preparing my Greece national skirt for watching all the matches our country will play at the World Cup. In the meantime, I'll be remembering what Greeks are capable of. Why? Because we're Greeks, and we never count our enemies in battle, at difference from our rivals!   • One of the greatest football stories ever is what this 2004 Greece national squad accomplished at this Euro tournament. No one can ever take that moment away from them. True underdogs came out on top. And this is a clear example of why they call this THE BEAUTIFUL GAME! : )

  • Charisteas versus France's goal. Absolutely amazing. All the teamwork, the Zagorakis move, the pass to Charisteas, the head's kick to the top corner. One of the best head score I've ever seen. Its elegance and plasticity are insuperable, unforgettable.

In the Euro 2008 England failed to qualify by Croatia and Russia, but Croatia won in the Euro 2008 against Germany, meanwhile in the CL 2007/08 England taked revenge by Europe who having except FC Barca and FC Liverpool an complete English Semi Final and the Final was played in Russia, the Country that England failed to qualify. In the same time Zenit won the UEFA Cup in the final in England and later in the UEFA Super Cup Zenit won against ManU with 2-1. I also like Putin but lets dont make Politics.

    • you are right man... but you need to a have a team spirit, to do things like greece did in 2004. Just luck at euro 2016! France's squad is better than Portugal's squad, but Portugal had a real good team spirit, so they won euro 2016 against the hosts, just like greece did in 2004! :D

  • This is really a nice video :) I remember this remarkable tournament very well, I was 13 back then. "Our" team, Germany, already failed in group stages so at first I thought it might get pretty boring for the rest of the European Championship for me. But then I realized there was one german left in the tournament: Rehakles. And he had a bunch of pretty enthusistic and sympathetic guys out there. So it was clear who we'd support from then on... And it was really amazing to see them win the whole thing. I think I've never seen such happiness just because of football before. It was simply beautiful :) I hope they can somehow do this again someday, I fell in love with the Greece back then :D

  • That was so great! I am german and I had crossed my fingers for Greece because of our german Trainer Otto Rehagel and because they were the outsiders, and when they finaly did it... Yes!!! And our Trainer Otto Rehagel became Rehakles and a eternal idol in greece.
