LOL! Fender!! That plywood body aint fooling me! Good Job though. Now its worth $2.99!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
100%
That's not a fender. That original headstock gave that away. Plus the neck you replaced it with is just as dodgy
I noticed the plywood body too
And who gives up a $2 bill these days? That part was fairly obviously staged. Also knowing the vintage guitar community, there's almost a mania for keeping original parts, so I've got to imagine that neck wouldn't be so easily junked. Seems like I'm one of quite a few who clicked on the video just to call it out.
it broke my heart that you removed the original finish. It looked so cool.
Agreed
Agreed×100
Man... All it needed was a cleanup and either a Satin or Matte clear coat to protect it. Instead, we got a poorly painted, typical red guitar that wasn't even sanded between coats OR wet sanded and polished after the clear...
it was not even a fender stat as it had no name on it
@@garypring2658 I agree, also the pick up wiring was not Fender like. This is just a rather new fake that probably first is made to look old and ugly in a non-believable way. The replacement neck was also not a real Fender. it is some strat looking neck with fake Fender stratocaster stickers.
Nie znam zbyt wielu kobiet, ktore mialyby takie, sprawne ręce, wiedzę i umiejetnosci do naprawiania przedmiotów. To dość rzadki talent. Szacunek i uznanie. Znakomita robota. Najbardziej podobala mi sie renowacja radioodbiornika, prawie artystyczna praca😊. Oczywiscie gitara i lampa też świetnie wykonane. Mam taką samą lampę. Nie wymagala renowacji ale musialem przerobić ja na 12v bo akumulatory 4,5 v są w Polsce bardzo trudno osiągalne. Dziekuje za możliwość zobaczenia tak doskonałej pracy. Pozdrawiam z Polski😮
Dokładnie tak
The Philips radio is more an aesthetical restoration than a functional one...
It's not a Fender guitar, it's a laminated plywood guitar.
That’s the “Plycaster” with “True Laminate Sound” technology! 😆😂🤣🤣…😢
Amazing how the slugs were so rusted but the tiny hair thin wire is intact 😂
yea its like.... someone made a good guitar bad and then did a whole intro of buying it for.... a 2 dollar bill.... like you just have those in your money stack cus they arent rare or anything. then they just made it.... better or... something. im calling bs on the whole vid lol
Could it have been wax potting that saved the wire?
What a load of bollocks
@@mattflickinger8151 very doubtful . it has to be soldered at some point after the winding . they dont wax pot the cheap pickups . this guitar has been coated in a mixture of vinager and salt to speed erosion

Plywood and not a Fender or even Squier I would say. Nevertheless, a calm and soothing video with lots of craftsmanship tips. Heads up!
For what it's worth: it's a Squier neck made in Korea (Sunghan) in 1993.
Sand between coats, cut & polish…. Terrible paint job as you’ve left it
Some Squiers were ply in the late 80s early to mid 90s.
I stripped a mexican fender ~1994 AND IT HAD A PLY BODY. I bought a 2002 mexican strat and redid the bridge and electronics and thought the same, this had a flame veneer tho.. Sound is 99% in the pickups and electronics... 1% the wood IMHO.
Видно, мастер любит свою работу. Респект.
Какую? Наёбывать зрителей? В какой вселенной Фендер делает корпуса из клеенной фонеры? 😂😂😂
Да плохая тут работа. Стеб какой-то
Alright, first...Much respect for taking this on. I hate when people do not first give credit where it is due and I want to be clear that you have great skills. Now, just because you put a fender neck on an old strat style body does not make it a Fender Strat. Second...if you are going to all this trouble to completely refurbish this old guitar then please put another coat of pain on there and do the wet sand to get rid of the orange peel.
this is not a old body , propably some cheap chinese fake out of plywood , made to look beat up , you can see it when he takes of the pickguard , above looks like it stayed in seawater underneath the pickguard basically brand new
And they did not even show the serial number,if there even was one.
@@ABCDEF-ks5op Isn't that because the pickguard protected the area underneath...
that was not a genuine fender neck
@@alkamz indeed, that was a fake neck, Fender never used that shape of stickers. Tuners are also not FenderAlso not Fender pick-ups or a Fender body. He has skills but this is not a Fender.
When you sand a radius into a neck with a radius sanding block, you don’t want to wrap the sandpaper around the sides of the block because it changes the radius of the final piece due to the sandpaper bending at the edges. You want to glue the sandpaper to the bottom of the block. This will give you a much better radius on the neck. When you are dealing with a small radius like 7.25, changing it the tiniest bit can drastically change the final radius. And you can end up with uneven surfaces where the radius changes randomly. Now I know this is just a KZhead restoration, but if you ever do this for a customer or for your own guitar that you mean to play regularly, use glue.
He’s obviously not a guitar player…

Not a single Fender original part in this guitar
Korean made Fender? Samick made them under licence in the 90's to fill the demand on asian marked , basically a shitty squire
Nice work. Fun to watch. Whatever guitar it is. For 97.9% of audiences, as long as you can use it to play “Satisfaction,” “Stairway to Heaven,” and “Summer of ‘69,” you’re good.
I don't think it was important how genuine it was. The scope of the transformation is awe inspiring. From a piece of trash to something playable. If it had been genuine, he could have taken the process a few steps further. That guitar can now inspire some kid to learn to play. It has my vote for an amazing video :-)
Muito bom ❤
shoddy craftsmanship all around. I can feel the frets and paintwork from here.
Am really happy to witness😍 these stunning restorations! Bravo!😊

Thanks for an inspiring 42 minutes and 27 seconds. I was in the midst of a 14 month long restoration of an inexpensive acoustic guitar, when I had to put the project on hold for two months in order to recover from surgery on my right thumb. I’m just about ready to get back to work. I learned every step the hard way, but worth the trip. Thanks for the jump start. BTW, old radios are a passion of mine, as well. Really enjoyed this!
But it's 100% fake brother!
@@stratolestele7611Regardless, I’m focused on the method and the results. The guy does excellent work.

The woman who is restoring the light in this video is doing some incredible work.....and nice to look at too. 😉
At timestamp 30:16 , i dont think its a flash light. Its an emergency light, installed over doorways in case of a power outage. Great restorations!!! Fantastic craftsmanship!!! ❤❤❤❤ 🎉🎉🎉🎉 😊
the wonderful and spectacular art of restoration. congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
凄いの一言😊感動です。
You labeled this as a 1992 Fender Stratocaster. Yet the headstock mysteriously has no logo and is not even the right shape. Come on, dude.
That is absolutely NOT a Fender : The internal routing, the thin block tremolo, the cheap 5-way switch, pots, wires, etc... But hey...If it makes him happy to say he restored a Fender...🙂🙂 He did a good job though...
Well. It's not even done with solid wood. It's plywood!
There are $99 guitars on Temu closer to a Fender Strat than this POS. This guy should get censored for clickbait.
Not to mention, changing the color on a restoration, not sanding between coats of paint, etc.
Garbage guitar. Not worth the time or effort to restore it. Absolute not a Fender.
You don't Lemon Oil a maple fretboard, you spray it clear. Plus your paint has a ton of orange peel...and learn to intonate the bridge saddles for each string gauge.
Don't put ANYTHING on it except your hands.
@@SGobuck Maple fretboards are varnished.

Wait. Did I missed the fret leveling and crowning or did he just polish the fret after just filing the fret ends?
That guitar is not a Fender, is a Squire. Fender doesn't use plywood for the body.
Nobody but the Who would let a Strat get in that condition...
Tampoco es una Squier, no tienen ese neck. Es una guitarra cualquiera con un mango Fender. Adémas, no parece afinar correctamente.
Squire is made by Fender, Fender bought Squire in 1965 .
@@wyattblackwood3927😂😂😂😂😂
@wyattblackwood3927 I bet you're the same guy that list an epiphone on the local market and call it a Gibson. Same guy that list a squier as a Fender.
Cool resto! Great filming too. What camera did you use? Love the slo-mo and and super-close ups...
1:43 не обязательно сверлить. Есть специальные экстракторы, которые позволяют выкрутить такой винт.
Before you fixed it the guitar looked exactly like the one in my room exept mine is in better condition and it was a custom made guitar not actually a fender, even though built like a fender. Side note, it was passed down to me from my uncle who got it from my grandfather who died a couple years back and even has a signature from from Elvin Bishop which is pretty cool. Another thing that is cool is that my grandfather made it with a store owner of a local Musicworks store. Ok, i’m just flexing now, sorry bout that😂
Ah, the NotFender Plycaster™️ my favorite brand. It's also interesting how the body is all jacked up, yet the internals and wiring look perfectly fine 🤔

Ce n’est pas une Fender! C’est une réplique parmi tant d’autres ! Cela dit bon travail tout de même
Thanks for sharing these restorations. It's so satisfying to see things brought back from the edge to usefulness. Kudos on the great work.
Finally a comment that’s not giving unwanted advice
Fantastically, cool and interesting video, but no way I would put that much time and effort into a laminate body! But you’re not gonna find any real old fenders for two dollars so I guess that makes sense for the application 😅
You are truly an artist! Great save!
5 Second Look at that guitar even from the thumbnail and it's not a fender clickbait on fake restoration
It was quite fun to see how a stratocaster is built! I always thought they were some kind of exotic hardwood and had secret magic installed somewhere! Nice job!
No they are really quite simple I'm surprised they want so much money for one honestly. I wouldn't ever pay over six hundred dollars for any stratocaster.
It's not a Fender.....as he says in the title. And, it's not a Squier either. It looks like it used to be a $200 Stratocaster clone. Look at the headstock at 0:08 mark.
@@jamesf.ryaniii7918 too quick it looks like a fender headstock but I don't know too quick
@@jamesf.ryaniii7918 no it doesn't say anything in the title of it being a fake
@@patrickshannon4516 I'm embarrassed to call you a fellow Irishman. Outstanding work. Such a great restoration 👍👍
What?!?!? Look at the horrendous paint at 14:14 and 16:05. Wet sand anyone?
The reason why the lamp had rusted is because it did not have a decent primer. After going to all the trouble cleaning it I would have at least used a zinc primer. Single pack paint that claim to stop rust rarely work. Looked good.

Faltou vc fazer o polimento no corpo, fazer a blindagem.. que é muito importante!! Mas foi uma boa reforma na Guitarra!!
It looks like a lot of work given that you need a new neck and the body is only plywood. is it really worth it?
No it’s not.
might be if you give it to a beginner,im shure they would love to learn on it.
now thats what you call "custom shop reliced" they went way too far especially on the neck so you dialed it right back . looks great! and i adore how you restored that old radio. infact my parents had an old bush radio and i actually wired in a jack so i could plug my guitar in to it.it sounded great with a fuzz pedal when i was like 14 or 15! ha ha! thats what kids used to do back in the late '70's

Amazing. Definitely love them all but, my favorite is the Sratocastor. How did a guitar like fender loose all respect & appreciation. I would buy in the blink of an eye but just spent 3k on a delux. Love it. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful works.❤🙂
IDC if its plywood plycaster.. you did an amazing job and it made me so happy to see this Guitar come back to life
That’s not even good for a soda from McDonalds anymore 😪 R.I.P. $2 dollars 1776-2024
I'm sure this has been pointed out before, but this isn't a Fender, it is in fact about the crappiest quality copy there is, with extremely low quality electrics & a plywood body!
I wonder how all that rusted pitting sounds through an amp on the clean setting sounds... I bet the intonation on the bridge is also spot on too...
0:05 a Bulgarian Orpheus /Orfeus -- crazy looks, great sound. One of the few Eastern Block guitars that actually sounded good (albeit unique -- a delicate, clear, microphonic single coil tone) and could be made playable
This is not a Fender Stratocaster. You mislead us dude. Cmon
I noticed that the body is a plywood one used on the Squier II. Great video. I was wondering if it's a Squier II model.

@@jamesf.ryaniii7918$200? You’re being rather generous. I’m thinking more in the $90 range
Correct it is not a Fender. He just stuck a strat neck on it and who even knows if that is legit. This is clickbait.
@@antonsworldofvideos8096that looks like he added a "Squier by Fender" neck and just scraped off the "Squier by" bit, leaving the small Fender logo.
@@jamesf.ryaniii7918 I don't think it's a Squier, but the worst Squiers can be made out of plywood or something similar in a laminated fashion.

I am curious. Why do you add solder to the frets before removing them does it soften the glue?
constant repeats.,
Then don't watch dummy 😂🤦
Never question an artist. Nice work! forget the haters with their "Wall hangers!"
What's the difference from building a guitar from scratch. You would save the restoration... Amazing work none the less. Well done!
1:13 Whenever people clip the ground wire off the bridge claw instead of using a soldering iron to melt the solder point and release the wire, it brings me great pain 🥲
One question why you leave the string ends so long at the tuners?
May I know what type of gloves are you using? Is it disposable?
PLEASE tell me you did not SUPERGLUE those frets in? does that not destroy any possibility of ever doing another fret job on that neck ever again?
Great Video !! I have a left-handed maple neck strat ..white on white she 's a beauty .. Now i know how to do it properly ..Thank You !! 😊👍
Is it a Feñez or an Ibander?
The purpose of restoring old wooden musical instruments, one goal is to obtain musical instruments with strong acoustic resonance and high quality from old forests centuries ago (the earth's colder climate in the past made the structure of the spruce and maple wood that grew there it was much busier then). For those who take advantage of the "antique style" and abstract uniqueness of each craftsman, such as violins, this is an advantage for the restorer because usually old wooden musical instruments that are not suitable for use are almost worthless. if it is repaired in the right way and with satisfactory results, they can set a price of up to thousands of thousands of US dollars. I think that electric musical instruments with synthetizers and amplifiers don't need to do things like this, and in fact the average electric guitarist prefers a modern glossy, smooth appearance that is strong and doesn't get damaged quickly, in contrast to violins which suffer from scratches, cracks and faded colors. with perfect compositions, he is actually appreciated and idolized by most classical violinists. but it's a different story if it's just to reuse used materials, I don't think there's any harm...

Dude, this would have been a super moji heavy guitar if you would have done more of a rehab than a restore. All the patina on the body and the hardware looked really cool, you could have just used a stiff nylon brush to clean things up. Still cool
Unless you had an old strat neck from the same year, i would have been more inclined to repair the broken head stock with wood glue and clamp it with padded clamps. Then sand it smooth. The downside is it would have had a visible crack in it still. But you'd still have the original wood. And that could contribute to its sound. But finding a vintage replacement neck would certainly be far more desirable (and valuable). Trying to repair the head stock might be a bad idea though. It was just a thought because i hate to see the original wood not be used. Also, i wouldn't use an orbital sander. It could leave swirl marks. I would recommend sanding with the grain of the wood. But overall, it turned out very nice. Kudos for using the radius sanding block.
Parabéns, que capricho.
