  • The outfits weren't bad, honestly, if they were doing a runway or red carpet they got that vibe down. What they were missing is the gen z kids. We make our fashion off of our insecurities. We make it so that we feel happy about ourselves. If you would have brought gen z in they would have talked to you and explained why we did these things. Our everyday outfits are what they should have gone for too...so they missed out on the real experience.

  • I wish they had the genz kids come in and specifically style them themselves because I don’t feel like this is a accurate representation of what genz dresses like… it looks more like what millennials think we dress vs how we actually dress you get me, like I get where they were going with the colors and the textures the fabrics and accessories but it looks really thrown together and random and not in a good way… or is it just me?

    @emaniehester7172@emaniehester71722 жыл бұрын
    • well to be fair millennials created, designed and decided the style of Generation Z most generation Z were literally kids or underage until 4 years ago and most still are I think its still early to say what the style of generation z because the majority were too young to decide what to wear by themselves until recently XD we will have to wait for another like 10-20 years for the generation to end to get a good summary...But also I think that there is no generation style so to be fair all style videos are wacky I don't think any generation be it baby boomers millenials or generation z will agree with how their fashion is said to be. Millennials and genz dress the same in my opinion normal and basic. Not to mention all that Zara and H&M fashion style bruh I saw those buttons that I thought were 20 year old old and unfashionable in my moms sewing kit as a kid on their new collections this summer soo old fashion comes back soo maybe its fair to say our clothes are inspired by the iconic looks from the baby boomers and millenials...These videos show more like crazy fashion of people that are celebs from different generations bc NO normal person has ever worn what I have seen in these videos

Baggy clothes, retro styles, 90s caps, crazy textures, mismatching patters - whatever is all stuff millenials have already worn throughout the late 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, etc. That being said, the way that gen z uses said items is their own unique style. The influence is shown in trendy items like baggy ripped jeans, oversized shirts, platform shoes, jewelry layering and accessorizing, etc. I feel that’s the big thing they lost in these outfits. A lot of it is uncomfy textures/fabrics, or unflattering on anybody, or uncomfortable silhouettes on average people. It’s natural to want to look nice to yourself when you look at yourself. going so far esoteric that fashion school zoomers at Pratt or polymoda are wearing neckbeard dragon shirts… I believe a line should be drawn 😅

Your "own style" is just another marketing trend. They are buying and consuming as much or more than ever regardless of buying into corporately generated trends. Which are, again, based off their existing purchasing trends. It's cool though. Love the creativity.

    • Yeah, I'm not a super fashionable person, so idk if this is right but it's how I view it; There's a big mix of extremes. I love the strong anti-capitalist stuff, working with older styles because they're second hand stuff, but a lot of the luxury brands took the kinda ugly looks that only worked because You knew they came with good intentions, and tried to emulate it, and it's just ruined a lot of it for me. Price and source of clothing has never really been treated the way it is now.

  • I feel like all the items had potential, but none of them were executed well. Ned's look was probably the best put together, but the buttoning of the shirt just makes it look like he's desperately trying to wear a shirt that he knows is too small. Also, the harness belt on Kwesi is not placed well, it should be placed from the waist or up, not under the stomach as it just looks like a bowl for his stomach to sit in which isn't flattering on anyone. Keith looks like the slightly creepy uncle that's still trying to be hip; and I don't even know where to start with Zach, it just looks like he rolled around in a lost and found box and went with whatever stayed on him. This is definitely the type of video where you don't want to bring in a stylist unless the stylist already is a part of that generation. It would be really fun to see this video get redone with actual gen Z-ers styling the guys because the results would likely be completely different.

    • tbh i feel like the stylist put too many eye catching pieces together, and zach’s normal style is already pretty close to a bunch of gen z styles, and so was keith’s original outfit, his was just more professional than most gen z. i love garish clothing, but i’d put at most 2 pieces of garish clothing together. the stylist got the right clothes, wrong vibe, and she did a little too much, but i’d wear most parts of those outfits, just not together

  • honestly, as a gen-z er, i've never seen anyone who dresses like this (not even on tiktok)... i feel like the stylist could have been more mindful of the viewers suggestions and they all would've looked great! it was just a bit too much, in my opinion. The closer to gen-z fashion was, unexpectedly, Keith with his grandpa-core fit lmao bc i could see the tyler the creator inspo
