Kayak Fishing 70 Miles Out for Deep Sea GIANTS (CATCH CLEAN COOK) -- Episode 3
In the 3rd episode of our New Zealand mothership adventure, we're kayak fishing 100 km off the coast of Auckland in search of GIANT yellowtail kingfish! The jig bite is on FIRE and we catch countless fish before heading back to the mothership to cook up our catch and play with sharks around the boat.

Wow, talk about an incredible day on the water! That place truly is a kayak fisherman's paradise. Fantastic episode!
It’s fisherman’s paradise!
Flipping awesome video Rob. Can't wait for the next one. Keep em coming.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it John
The Kayak King...catching Yellowtail Kingfish. Epic day man.
That place always delivers! Thanks Lucas, been enjoying watching your music journey!
Awesome as always! So beautiful there ❤️
It really is! I’ll take you one day. Love you mom.
😮More than just Fishing Sir .. ❤❤❤
Always love watching your video's Robert and hope i will be able to fish with you one day🙏 had my first kayak fishing experience, thanks to your video's and i am sold 😅would be great to see some sonar images to see what you looking for while fishing,if you can make that possible 😏 All the best and thanks for taking us on your adventures. 🎣
I’ve got some sonar images in the next episode, but I’ll start showing that more often! Welcome to the Plastic Navy my man!
Out of this world mate😍👍🎣amazing
Thanks so much Ghali

You always put out great content there 👍
Thanks so much paul
Man I love your videos
Thanks Herbert glad you’re enjoying em!
This is so epic! Can't have a more on fire fishing day... and what a beautiful place. Also, that shark footage was NUTS!
The bite doesn’t get better than that!
15:05. Dude. Fantastic job at freeing that fish. I don't know squat about such an adventure but that was smooth Ice man.
Hahaha thanks brother
Damn dude! Awesome content! I just got into bringing my kayak out on lakes and creeks.
Thanks Justin!
Nice vid Robert, next time you are here, try Kahawai Sashimi, you will be blown away, better than Yellowtail
Oh man, now I HAVE to do that! Thanks for the tip!
That intro fish dive, is excactly how our fresh water drum buds fight here in WNY, our lake trout do the same in the Niagara river nothing better than drag screaming for mercy from a fish run.
Can’t beat it!
Wow, is all I can say 😲 so many fish around.
That place is always like that. Incredible fishery 👌🏼
Good fishing friend. I hope see you fish a big shark😊
Sharks are always fun!
Would love to join you one day, constant action for sure. Good stuff
You can join us for a week down there! Link in the description for all the info about these trips.
As somebody who has done this trip (with Marty :) ) This is a great video of the bounty hunter at its best. Ticks the fishing trip rule of 3.... as long as 2 of 3 are great the trip is great.. Weather, Fish and People... I was lucky with 3/3 for my trip, which made it a trip of a lifetime... (I got close to the 20lber!) Watching this wanted me to book again to try for the 20kg King and the 20lb Snap... they are there and ready to catch!
This was my 3rd time going and it’s always incredible
Amazing my friend
Thanks so much. It’s an amazing place
@@YakFishField yes my friend
Another banger
Glad you enjoyed it mark!
@YakFishField Dude, my 50th is 2 years away. Trust me, i'm finding a way to Fish with you😁.
Those sharks are almost impossible to dehook. That rubbery stuff around their mouths makes it like trying to get a hook out of a truck tire. Cutting it close was certainly the best option
Excelente pesca amigo, insane video, saludos!!
Gracias hermano 🙏🏼
You should catch up with the boys from The Lateral Line one episode these guys catch some real bruises and i think there boat set up is brilliant idea.
That’d be awesome maybe I’ll reach out to em next time
Bahahaha! The Red Rocket nickname made me laugh my ass off.
Hahahah I made the mistake of saying it as a joke, and it stuck 🙄🤣
Fishing is a contact sport 🎣
Offshore kayak fishing sure is!
wow very nice video💖💖💖💖💖💝💝💝💝💝
Great vid as usual. Are you using mono instead of braid? I have never jigged so im at a loss.
what jig are u using man ?
norm i do get kicked with a shark if no steel line but also on a spinner reel haha dang use a flippin accurate already 😂 i have 2 and that is after I lost one overboard 😢😢 cause my leash ripped off and flipped me… 😂😢😂😮
i was at los pulgas in the reef and something pulled it hard af, it was to the right side when i dropped but was on my left when hit after i floated into the seaweed 😂 so yup you can imagine the yard sale i had and what i lost beyon the rod n reel and shark my guess 😂
Yikes!!
What kayak are you using
They are on a charter that takes them out and baby sits them.
Do you ship your kayak to every place you go. Or do you use what the have.
I use what they have. Marty has this fleet there specifically for these trips.
Show Brasil 🐟 🐟 🐟 ❤
Brasil show 🤝
We kach big king fish over here in turkey mostley thay grove up to 25-30kg but not any greeat white shark,s
You think a 12.5’ 32” wide kayak would be fine in the ocean?
32” wide is pretty narrow, so it may not be super stable. Which can be fine, but you’ll need to be careful and practice inshore or on a lake if you’re newer to the sport
How many times did you say BRO whilst in NZ?
137
Keren sahabat❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can't believe he held that fish like that on the release those are a sculpin or scorpion fish poisonous on their dorsal fin spines
Yeah man that’s what I was trying to tell him but he kept saying “nah it won’t hurt me” I thought he was wrong! Got lucky!
One of my bucket list but I can't swim,
Is your site down?
Which site?
70 miles lol did you mean 7? as 70 miles out the hills in the background would need to be over 3000ft tall due to the curvature of the earth to even see them, and they wouldn't be anything but a smidge. other then that nice video
70 miles from where we launched in Auckland. We’re fishing around uninhabited islands out at sea. Not overly complicated
damn the one that went escaped
It happens lol
👍👍👍
21:18 it (the spiky orange one) looks like a scorpion fish (im 80% sure)… there spines have venom on n I’ve heard that it’s an extremely nasty prick wen one pricks u xxx
Yeah that’s what I was telling Pete but he kept saying “naw these don’t hurt you.” I knew he was wrong! Got away with one
@@YakFishField ahhhh just let him prick himself n watch him curl up n cry like a baby next time lolol 🤣🤣 xxxx
Good video. Don't feed the sharks. Nice content.
Thanks man
I'm sure it's 70 miles from somewhere.
It’s 70 miles from where we left the mainland. These are uninhabited islands were fishing
Potol potol potooooool....
Mount a GoPro to the bottom of the kayak
I don’t think I wanna know what’s swimming below us sometimes 🦈😂
@@YakFishFieldI second that. Flipping and swimming with the sharks is not something I enjoy lol
What size kayak?
LightningKayaks.com this is the Strike. All the info on our site
@@YakFishField I’ll check it out. I just got a 12.7’ 32” moken 12.5 pedal. Let me know what you think about it if you have the time?
Send a camera down on a line
I need one of those cameras
30+ minutes on that shark? Jeez, KZhead Sensation Robert Field, you need lessons on how to crank on an incidental shark?
"You Wanker!".....bloody oath.
Trying to fit in
@@YakFishField Pose with a Steak and Cheese pie, a can of L&P and a Luxury Flake. That's the kiwi holy trinity right there!
How come I can see land if you're seventy miles out
We’re fishing around uninhabited islands 70 miles offshore.
43 NM from where you launched, 26NM from Coromandel Peninsular or 4NM from Great Barrier which is technically part of Auckland City 👍
All fun and games ocean Kayak fishing, until you hookup on a whale or a big shark…
Bummer you cut the line on that bronzy mate. Could easily just punch the hook out with some big pliers, or a gaff.
Easy to say that from the comfort of your own home… it’s different when you’re 6 hours from the nearest hospital. If I got bit bad and couldn’t stop the bleeding I’d bleed out long before getting to help. That shark will be fine.
Doing it on a yak is pretty sketchy bro, one well placed kick from a fish that size while you've got it right beside the boat wouldn't end well I'd imagine, even if you don't get injured say goodbye to allot of your expensive tackle
Big shark under kayak not in million i will not fhising in that waters
Ah yes, kayak fishing, fishing style designed for guys who want to catch big fish with none of the required materials needed to do so.
Go think of a name
Yes, for those who enjoy a challenge.
@@YakFishField fuck around and find out, i guess. im not in the coast guard so i wont have to fish your bloated body out of the water lol "youre gunna need a bigger boat"
Sad?
Stop spoiling and we'll watch your vids. This is real stupid to do that. Do you think people are gonna watch 56'58" albeit all is done in 30""? Don't be so mainstream.
No idea what you're trying to say.
Whats ur fav rod and reel set up for jetty and kayak fishing like for bull reds or any other type of big fish
Man you can’t go wrong with Penn in terms of bang for your buck and durability in saltwater. Get whichever combo you can afford, they’re all a good value
70 miles offshore?? Do they do Doggy Miles in NZ, one equals seven because I can see land.
Those are islands lol they are very far out
@@bradleyhouston9037 Damn big islands... which ones? And he's still two miles off the islands :) Stewart island maybe?
Yes, we’re fishing around uninhabited islands that are 70 miles offshore.
Man Robert,I don’t know how you stayed fishing after that bronze shark,my arm would have been mush! Great episode, loved every moment!👍🇨🇦
He means of mainland nz
