  • I’m thinking back to my younger days with my husband when we lived in Italy. We were living in a four room house. Three kids 10, 9, &5 yo. Girls. The only heat in the winter was a fireplace in the kitchen. The oldest had her birthday today. She is now 51yrs old. Father passed 23 yrs ago. It is amazing what you accept as normal or OK when you are young. I’m 74yrs old now and I say “what where you thinking back then” Best of luck in you future. You will always have stories for your Grandkids.

    • I remember visiting my grandparents in Manchester as a kid in UK in the 60's. The toilet was an outhouse at the back of the yard next to the coal shelter. The only heating was a fire in the living room which had a backboiler for hot water, the 2 bedrooms had fireplaces which were almost never used apart from the coldest winters. The bath was a tin bath in the kitchen and it was only late 60s when my gran got her first washing machine, still used a mangle to pre-dry clothes. 2 bedrooms, my mum and her 3 sisters shared the second bedroom growing up. People talk about poverty nowadays..........

    • I have to say that I agree with this post 100%. What you and Annelise accomplished fixing your home in France, and building such a beautiful family, is worth deep contemplation before you and Annelise make a decision as major as permanently severing your family. You, Dan, could very legitimately be exhausted from working so hard on your home and realizing there is still so much more to do. LaLande is cash in your pocket and a fun place to be. Annelise, who is such a wonderful mother - and from what we've seen on this and other channels - your staunch supporter in all aspects of you. Annelise can't really take a break from her duties as a mother and homemaker, or she won't because of her character and commitment. There are women who choose fun over family, but I don't think Annelise does. As you walk this road of figuring out what is best for all four of you, please be careful. I've been down this road. My former spouse chose fun - and seems to be struggling with that choice 15 years later. Whatever you two decide, I know Jack and Thomas will adapt and be ok. They've got two parents who clearly love them very much. Wishing the four of you find everything you need to live a happy, healthy life filled with joyful memory making moments❣

I'm so impressed you have no idea, also in Anna-Lise for all she's done plus put up with during two pregnancies without a meltdown, wow guys... Inspiring and impressive doesn't cover it. You've managed to create this charming house from ruins all on your own whilst raising two beautiful boys and kept your mojo on! • Wow Dan, you and Annalise have been through a lot together. I have watched you both over time through videos. It takes a lot of love to build a home and a family and I believe it is still there, somewhere between the tired bodies and the exhausted brains. What a story you two have. Wouldn’t it be a good one to find those happy hearts again? Remember it is your story, make it a good one. ❤️

  • Dan, the Western style background music you played seems very appropriate for this video because you and Annalise were the equivalent of homesteaders in the Old West except you are living in modern day France.

  • I have been watching since the beginning and the amount of work you both have done is amazing.Being a woman who had two small ones, I know Annalise had a tough time. We all always want a story to end as a happy ever after, and that would be wonderful. I also know a lot of stories don’t. In the meantime I would like to congratulate you and Annalise for the hard work you have put into your home and your family. Best wishes for the future.

    • Better not to even think of divorce. There are no marital problems that are insurmountable. You have to work from the premise that true marriage lasts until the death of the spouse. All other arrangements are something else but certainly not to be defined as marriage. Marriage is one man and one woman living sacrificial love unto death..
