The Han Dynasty with a history of more than 400 years (206 BC-220 AD) is one of the greatest dynasties in Chinese history. What made this dynasty great, in addition to its governing policies, heroic generals and elite troops, was indispensable weapons on the battlefield. The Han Dynasty sword is one of them, possessing a beautiful appearance and high flexibility that helped infantry increase their strength on the battlefield, and is now collected by many sword lovers! Today I will forge and recreate one of those swords !!

  • Your work is breathtaking, I want to not only watch, but also learn how to work with materials and create such beautiful things. Every time I watch your videos, I remember my grandfather, who sometimes made various metal and wood toys for me when I was little. I watched almost all your videos and enjoyed my time. Please be proud of yourself for what you create and share it with us. I have never commented on your videos until now, but I have very little time left in this world , so I wanted write a positive comment at least once and express my love for your work😄

  • The design shape of the blade seems very similar to the roman gladius of the same era.

    @sandoe41@sandoe413 ай бұрын
    • This design does not seem historically accurate. The Han Dynasty jian (double edged swords) were long and slender. The Han Dynasty daos (single edged swords) ranged from short and slender to long and slender. The Han Dynasty did not use "chunky" blades like the sword portrayed in the video. The chunky swords are the bronze-swords made centuries before the Han Dynasty existed.

  • well, If you've played Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty or watched Blades of the Guardians, you might have noticed that double-edged straight swords weren't very popular among the Chinese military from Han Dynasty to Tang Dynasty. historically, soldiers and civilians generally preferred single-edged ring pommel sabers. In fact, that even the Japanese Tachi and Katana were heavily influenced by this Chinese weapon. It's also worth noting that while swords were commonly made of bronze during this period, ring pommel sabers were already being crafted from steel. by the Tang Dynasty, Chinese blacksmiths had even mastered the skill of forging authentic Damascus/Wootz Steel, imported through the Silk Road, and used it to create "Bintie" sabers.

  • I'm sure that it's quite the devastating blade, but you've put so much time and serious work into it,and it came out so damned pretty that I would never be able to use it no matter how solid a blade it is. It's just too fine a piece for anything but showing off. Sure, a wyvern or troll would fall to the thing easily enough, it's a very fine blade, but I couldn't picture it in the hand of anyone below "warlord " status. I think it properly belongs on exhibit in some glittering haunt of the upper classes where the people who have the means to own such things can gaze in the same admiration I feel for that blade

  • Uh, question. Why don't you finish the surface griding and 95% of the sharpening before you quench? I thought quenching would literally hardens the surface material. Even if you treat it, it remains as hard. So that is giving yourself a harder time to smoothen the surface + sharpening in the later stage. All in all, your artisan is amazing and end product is fabulous

The Han Dynasty jian (double edged swords) were long and slender. The Han Dynasty daos (single edged swords) ranged from short and slender to long and slender. This sword resembles the chunkier bronze-swords made centuries before the Han Dynasty existed.
