Nice concept! Nice work! RWB 🎉
You carried out your inspiration wonderfully ! There aren’t that many young people that your kind of skills. Keep expanding, nice creation.
Appreciate that!
Outstanding.
Dude, you can tell that motorcycle engine and trans weigh way less than the original! Cut the springs? Coil overs? This is the best low budget build on KZhead.
Thanks! Very surprised with how quick it is. Have about $1500 in it
And yeah I agree. Needs more lower for sure!
I’d make it look stock from the outside and lower the car with steel bumper car springs like you said.
You are so awesome and your friend that made the sprocket adapter on the lathe yooooooooooooo
Dude , I just started watching this on my TV , this is awesome. I built an MG about the same time with a Duromax 440. I've just found your channel but I'm definitely going to do some catching up. Chris from KZhead channel Keyfarm
Thanks for watching! I’ll check out your channel!
I think it would look good if the pipes came over and down the side of the front fender into a side pipe exhaust.
Great suggestion! I like the idea
I did that on my bike swapped mg
sounds good and looks like Mad Max's MG.
The sticker on the back window worked I’m here from off the ranch
Cool!
Nice build. Maybe make a header that punches through that front fender and comes down the side rocker panel like an old Vette! Something legal so the law doesn't harass you. MGBs aren't that expensive. You can get a decent chassis with bad engine for $2k, somewhat better second life than a liter class sport bike engine swap. The old timers never hesitated to swap engines on Midgets, Sprites and other MGs, thats for sure. They tuned the shit out of them, new cams, new trannys, new rear ends, v6s, v8s, and more.
Thanks! 👍🏽
It lives and drive's, I'd call that a success . Time for a cold one, 👍.
Thanks!!
That’s pretty bad ass
if you leave your exhaust and put adjustable restrictors on top this will make the motor work at its peak when needed
Is there a reason why you didn't use a header and run the exhaust underneath? That way you have back pressure and it would look stock. Great build.
Most of the reason is because of space. Would be an option though just would take a lot of bends.
@@J-JsGarage You would become an expert TIG welder by the time you were done. Look at the positives...lol
@@johnkoury1116 haha very true!
Great video. What do you think you have spend so far on the build? Did you make the motor mounts yourself?
Yep I did. Paid $900 for the car and had the engine. Prob around $1500
Hey man, you could have had a v8! I’m a bit biased though as I dropped a corvette engine in a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 and later A 1982 GMC S15 . Now my need for torque is satisfied by a 289 ford v8 in my 1967 Sunbeam Tiger… can’t shake this Gearhead affliction 🥸
👍🏽😁
That thing is awesome! It would be good to have a gear indicator. It’s probably faster and more reliable than an MG too. Mind you, my dad and I built an MGB GT when I was a kid with a race engine. It would go well over 100MPH but it didn’t have a spoiler and ground effects to keep the front end down. You might want to get a chin spoiler to keep the front end planted if you’re planning on eventually going fast in that car.
Thanks!
I would look in to finding a set of springs from a chrome bumper car they actually have a lower ride height.
@@mikemcconnell9208 thanks definitely needs to be a lot lower
Maybe I missed it - What motorcycle engine (& specs) & transmission are you using here?
2007 Suzuki bandit 1250. Using the original motor cycle transmission. Engine is sitting in sideways and has an adapter to the driveshaft
Thx. Interesting. Comparable HP to orig. MGB engine. Torque - 79# - less than original engine's 89#. 'Curious re: its performance in the MGB. ...@@J-JsGarage
@@phillipmitchell5879 never drove an MG with a stock engine but having 10,000 rpm to stretch out feels pretty fast.
Phillip owned & loved his '67 MGB-GT.@@J-JsGarage
young and talented welldone
Thanks!
Did you/can you provide your friends channel information that made your sprocket/driveshaft adapter? Thanks!
Yes, his KZhead channel is called the farm shop
@@J-JsGarage hmmm. I still can’t find (unless he’s in New Zealand lol). Awesome build regardless. Love your work! Keep it up.
@@hsr65 I’ll see if I can link it. Thanks! Big changes coming for it!

I've heard about the back pressure thing for years but don't believe it. There's videos on YT of people testing that on dyno's. Maybe check Engine Masters page.
Back pressure no, header length for pulses, yes.
add some dirt bike baffles on the end of those tubes
Just added a turbo and quieted it way down!
My Sprite was a 1098cc engine ...
You got an exhaust leak, maybe 2.
Dude, next time to get that shine, use gojo hand cream. I cant stress enough, it has to be the hand cream. DO NOT use the stuff with pumice. Wipe it on with your hands, use a rag to wipe it in. Youll thank me later.
I’ll give that a try!
Is the fuel cell vented?
It has a small one in the cap but I believe it’s not big enough.
What about reverse gear
Foot haha. No reverse but I’m sure it would be doable!
Back pressure is not good it's about how much volume you can't flow in n out of your engine
That was my very first car
Might be a clogged breather or the breather isn't up to the job.
WD40! I've used Pledge before.
Hey Great. Do 1 next on a lawnmower with an airplane engine....
Haha I don’t have that kind of money
@@J-JsGarage OK well...hmm How bout a wheelbarrow with a weed eater motor then?
@@Imnotyourdoormat I might could do that😅
MGBs are valuable classics now. My advice (for what it’s worth) is to go the extra mile and design an exhaust system with a muffler and make the car into a usable daily driver. The exhaust standpipes are neat, but it was a lazy fix because there was no room for a proper set of headers. The car is worth more than that!
As far as value goes, it's just a car, can't take it with ya when you 6ft under. And an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Not only that it only has a value when it gets sold. If it ain't up for sale then no value is there in the first place lol
Need a heavier flywheel.
You are pulling more weight that a motorcycle.
I think it’s gonna be fine. I was taking off in second. Not in first.
Unfortunately that engine design won’t be able to take a bigger flywheel. Just using slightly higher revs and 1st gear to start off should be fine. (100 bhp is more than the standard MGB engine anyway) 👍🇬🇧
At the risk of sounding like an old curmudgeon… Are you welding without eye protection? It will definitely get you when your older.
Nope.
What have you been smoking or drinking? Just so I know what to stay away from....
Sounds horrible😊😮😮😢
