  • Dude, you can tell that motorcycle engine and trans weigh way less than the original! Cut the springs? Coil overs? This is the best low budget build on KZhead.

  • Nice build. Maybe make a header that punches through that front fender and comes down the side rocker panel like an old Vette! Something legal so the law doesn't harass you. MGBs aren't that expensive. You can get a decent chassis with bad engine for $2k, somewhat better second life than a liter class sport bike engine swap. The old timers never hesitated to swap engines on Midgets, Sprites and other MGs, thats for sure. They tuned the shit out of them, new cams, new trannys, new rear ends, v6s, v8s, and more.

  • if you leave your exhaust and put adjustable restrictors on top this will make the motor work at its peak when needed

  • Is there a reason why you didn't use a header and run the exhaust underneath? That way you have back pressure and it would look stock. Great build.

    • Most of the reason is because of space. Would be an option though just would take a lot of bends.

  • Hey man, you could have had a v8! I’m a bit biased though as I dropped a corvette engine in a 1960 Austin Healey 3000 and later A 1982 GMC S15 . Now my need for torque is satisfied by a 289 ford v8 in my 1967 Sunbeam Tiger… can’t shake this Gearhead affliction 🥸

  • That thing is awesome! It would be good to have a gear indicator. It’s probably faster and more reliable than an MG too. Mind you, my dad and I built an MGB GT when I was a kid with a race engine. It would go well over 100MPH but it didn’t have a spoiler and ground effects to keep the front end down. You might want to get a chin spoiler to keep the front end planted if you’re planning on eventually going fast in that car.

  • MGBs are valuable classics now. My advice (for what it’s worth) is to go the extra mile and design an exhaust system with a muffler and make the car into a usable daily driver. The exhaust standpipes are neat, but it was a lazy fix because there was no room for a proper set of headers. The car is worth more than that!

    @philtucker1224@philtucker1224 Жыл бұрын
  • As far as value goes, it's just a car, can't take it with ya when you 6ft under. And an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Not only that it only has a value when it gets sold. If it ain't up for sale then no value is there in the first place lol

      @J-JsGarage@J-JsGarage Жыл бұрын
    • Unfortunately that engine design won’t be able to take a bigger flywheel. Just using slightly higher revs and 1st gear to start off should be fine. (100 bhp is more than the standard MGB engine anyway) 👍🇬🇧
