Definitely need to make the clutch a longer throw so it’s not so touchy. Thanks for watching!

  • Congrats and you will do better. Getting a more positive shift action and clutch reaction would be on my list for improvements.

  • It seemed like it wanted a bunch more rpm on launch. Also, the short throw on the clutch actually isn't a bad thing. You just have to get used to it.

  • nice job, I wish I could do the same thing, and likely will if the 1500 motor ever blows on my Midget. I would go nuts and replace the bonnet and boot support sticks with cheap lift pistons from amazon. makes opening and closing the boot and bonnet easier, looks cool too. Keeps them from warping. Love everything about this build. It could use a heavier flywheel maybe? But as long as you're used to the clutch and gearing, no real need. Send it!

  • Great job young man! It’s all about fun so bringing the family is key. With that slow start a 11.9 is amazing - you can easily get into the 10s with a better start, which is what most people need to spend $j$ in upgrades to get! Just curious why you haven’t dropped the ride height yet? If it’s cost, just cut the front springs and put blocks on the rears ya ya, people will yell at me for suggesting cutting springs but rubber bumper MGBs have a close to 11” coil spring on the front, it’s not like they are 7” already or coil overs. That said, for a couple hundred bucks you can get some proper lowerred springs from the UK. Cheers from Canada!

    • Thankyou! I really do need to do ride height next. The oil pan is already decently low but it’ll be alright! Thanks for watching!

  • Need to tighten up your throttle spring to your foot pedal

  • Make it a lever system to hook up the clutch, so one side is short and the other longer part connected to the clutch.

  • dont know if they would allow it at cleetus and cars but using antifreese instead of water makes everything a lot more slippery and makes more smoke as for increasing the trow of the clutch . you can put the original clutchhandle in the engine compartment on a stumpy piece of round and have a linkage mounted toa hole in the end of the handle to operated it using the footclutch in the car shouldnt be too hard to do if you have the space to mount the clutch straight ahead of the pedal

  • BTW, my 3.4L Camaro swap that puts 160hp/200ft-lbs hasn’t blown the rear diff yet so it’s unlikely your setup ever will. Hammer it hard and send it!
