"if it was a hook, how can it be an embellishment" is an understandable but dumb question. Both can happen at the same time. There was a hook, but McAvoy made it look worse (embellished it) to try and draw a hooking penalty. Both go to the box, good call

@@Saphfire05 there’s been way too many terrible embellishment calls, dudes getting tripped and going flying down on the ice and getting called for embellishment.. how tf the refs think they can tell exactly how hard the players should be falling, just seems stupid 99% of the time, unless someone is faking contact to try and draw a call
@@apapz3245 after a lot of experience on seeing actual falls and embellished falls, it's usually pretty easy to tell them apart
yeah, people forget how important it is the refs stay on top of diving because it could ruin the whole sport the beauty of hockey is the grit, the determination and the fact players always keep going, we dont want no soccer whiny babies cry about being touched, imagine how ridiculous it would be :D
Calling a penalty because the guy embellished is definitely a weird call....DUH! What McAvoy did when he hooked Lundell by the box is a penalty though. That's unsportsmanlike.

Officials don't just call infractions, they massage the penalties to make end result reasonable. It was kinda hook and kinda embellishment. It wouldn't have been fair to give a power play, so it was both or neither. The same often happens with some small time pushing/punching. Often both get roughing even if one is kinda just grabbing while the other is punching because a penalty is warranted but it would be too severe to give out a power play.
Boston just decided to beat Florida at their own game.

The announcers are idiots and don't know what embellishment means. Just because a hook happened doesn't mean you can't embellish the effect of that hook.

No problem with both players going to the box for this. Panthers fans get real salty when another team even sniffs at the stuff they pull on a regular basis. I used to think the caps were good at cheap shots but they are nothing next to tkatchuk and his band of punks. i cant even call them thugs, theyre too whiny. People complaining about grimy stuff done to the panthers is like cutting off your leg and thinking you can now run even faster.. they deserve everything they get and more. Lead the league in hits AFTER the whistle, most minor penalties called against, im not even sure Marchands the Rat King anymore with all the potential pieces of shit playing for Florida. They are statistically the dirtiest team in the NHL. Still have never seen a goalie get cross checked in the head except for Tkachuk doing this. Don’t like to play against him and wouldn’t want him on my team. He goes beyond hockey plays. I watched him once fall to the ice and then proceed to kick his skates into another players leg. He will severely injure someone someday. And I can only hope it’s himself. Take away the rat like dirty BS and he’s sooo good for the league.

Lundell was the 12th player selected in the 2020 draft but he plays more like a mid-to-late round pick. He had one big WJC tournament but hasn't been very impactful since. He was taken ahead of much better players like Seth Jarvis, Jake Neighbors and Brock Faber.

The judge accepts that an agreement is made between both parties. This generally means the party is guilty but the victim would rather take the lump sum of money instead of jail time and justice. they need to make it so that an "embelishment" penalty negates the "initial call" also, mcavoy should of got a spearing penalty there as well. poking the back of someones knee can cause injuries.
They need to make it so that Florida gets penalized for starting a scrum after every single whistle instead of just ignoring it. They can't stop antagonizing their opponent, Boston especially, because they're a team of lowlifes

It’s pretty simple someone can do something illegal and the other person can dive to attempt to make that penalty more noticeable. Both get calls.
