It looks like the motor was moved forward right over the skinny wheels that allows that tiller and his weight to maximize torque at the plow face. So it's not popping a wheelie and flipping over backwards as well as being a perfect guide to the next row line. And 3rd benefit: there's no compacted soil left behind since the plow is the last interaction with the soil. Ingenious and simple. Should be a very successful crop.

Wheel Horse is one of the best lawn & Garden tractors ever made. 💪💪
Amen to that
Is that Geneseo Illinois?
Kohler cast iron engine bomb proof Only flaw were the notches in the angle iron frame
Imma have to disagree and go with the brother company speedex unless its a transaxle speedex than wheelhorse is better
that's why they were discontinued and we now get chinese tractors at twice the price and one tenth the lifespan. china is now poised to do the same thing to our automobile and agriculture industries.
I had an old Wheelhorse garden tractor ! It was a beast , and I will admit I'm hard on my machines and tools .
They were built to be used like that or they won’t have been called wheel pony not wheel horse
Ya gotta love a old wheelhouse
horse.
With a Harbor Freight engine on it. Lol. WheelHorse heart an soul is gone.
I have a couple of them
... an old...
@@jasonwinkowski6310nah, I still have a 76’ and a 78’ with the original engine. Still running strong. I rebuilt and restored the 76’ last year.
That's actually bad ass
This is actually a brilliant little machine for any homestead.
I had a 10 HP single cylinder Wheel Horse tractor for 25 years. It did everything I ever asked it to do. I finally had to let it go, it was just plain worn out. I moved lawns in the summer and it had a snow blower that I used in the winter.
This is coming from someone who can't spell or type. How far did you move them there lawns????😂🤣
Do you know a make and model so I can start looking? Buying a 5 acre homestead. This would be perfect for diy jobs
@JohnSmith-bh8um it’s a wheelhorse not sure on model with a diesel engine swap
Super cool little rig! Only thing that would make it better is a good old cast-iron Kohler.
nah that lil china diesel makes all the low end tourqe and it runs it fine for being a 3hp
K482 would go nicely.
@@blackhat1652 hahahahahahaha. I like your thinking!!
yeah def needs a old flat head
@@seanmckay3392I have one of those engines. It produces less than 6 pound-feet of torque. Not very torquey or powerful but still a cool engine.
I would have one of these, a mini horse, a mini cow, a mini pig, and some mini chickens if I owned a farm.
And a mini barn to store them all in
What you ironically describe is a rather widespread hobby among the Italian middle class 🤭. My parents (who have a construction company as their real activity) also have a small plot of land with a small Carraro tractor, vegetable garden, orchard and a couple of ponies, donkeys, a dozen exotic chickens, rabbits of every breed etc.
I have my grandpa's wheel horse. Great at playing snow and pulls stranded vehicles out no problem. Helped many of people and still putting along. I miss him dearly.
for those unfamiliar with farming/gardening equipment, this is a type of tiller..
I want to know also this probably isn’t a Brand, but I definitely found the name of the equipment
Brinly PP-510-A Sleeve Hitch Tow Behind Moldboard Plow, 10"
**mouldboard plow
No it's not. It's a bottom, or turning, or mouldboard plow.
That is a one gang plow. Not a tiller.
He started this field as an apprenticeship 17 years ago
😂
But he stopped and put on his geed bsg
Never seen a Wheelhorse with a narrow front.
Same it was sweet
I've never seen, or heard of a Wheel Horse till just now watching this video, of course it made me want one, and that's when the misery hit, they're not manufactured anymore according to what I read.☹️
@@floydholder597 The old ones are still better than 90% of the stuff made today, I have a 520 H if someone wants it, it’ll be a fight to the death! LOL 😂
@@Musclecar1972 I hear you, it's like so many other products that you used to be able to buy and use fir 20 -30 years, or sometimes even your lifetime abd then leave for your children or a close friend, until some probable weasel in sales came up with the concept of "designed obsolescence". Now days you buy something like that and hope you will get more than a single season's use out of it.
@@floydholder597 I agree, I had 4 of the 520 H tractors a few years ago, I passed one on to one of my sons, and kept one for myself, it still works and rubs like new, with very minimal maintenance, fantastic machines, and my son is restoring his right now, parts are still available if you know where to go.👍
Nice work.. My dad had the same set up when I was young.. Haven't seen a Brinly plow for a while.
Oh that is cool and thanks for telling me what brand I didn’t know and a few people asked
I had a wheel horse like this one. What an incredible little tractor ?
I’ve mowed about a million miles on a wheel horse since 1968 and it’s still running.
She's a puller.❤
I like the narrow front end on that wheelhouse tractor 👍👍
Try that on South Devon clay. It turns over but the clod is just as solid afterwards. It needs a spinning rotovator to cut it up but the machine wheels just compact it back down.
Our ground at the show is pretty forgiving
I mean clay isn't exactly the best for planting anyway.
Did you modify the front end of that tractor I've never seen one like that I've got a wheel horse but not like that❤
I think it was a custom unit it’s not mine just filmed it at our show
It looks like the motor was moved forward right over the skinny wheels that allows that tiller and his weight to maximize torque at the plow face. So it's not popping a wheelie and flipping over backwards as well as being a perfect guide to the next row line. And 3rd benefit: there's no compacted soil left behind since the plow is the last interaction with the soil. Ingenious and simple. Should be a very successful crop.
I believe it is a Wheel Horse with the 8HP Kohler. I have the same machine with different front axle and no wheel weights. 1968😂
That's not a Kohler..
Chinese diesel
I love my K181
Little guy putting in the work 💪
Crazy power from a small machine. I have a 1959 cub cadet with a 7.5 hp Kohler with external mounted points.
Nice!
Love my old wheel horse, i have the mower deck, snow plow, turn plow, screw style log splitter that mounts to the front and a homemade tiller for the back, homemade weight rack.
Nice set up!
@@BIBSTERSrepairshop the starter went out awhile back so I use a DeWalt drill to start it. 😅

Is this a factory tractor? I have never seen one like this before
I’m not sure but it was super sweet
He just put a narrow front on it. The motor is also not original
Has the little 196cc Chinese Diesel too! Impressive little engines for a 3hp rating. I have a new one apart on my bench right now that I’m balancing, and porting the head and prechamber on. The rockers were almost seized from the factory 😂
Wheel Horse was the pride of South Bend after Studebaker shuttered. Then bought out, cheapened, who knows where they're made now.
Not made anywhere, gone!
That's when machines were tough and American made not from China. Very Cool.
You know it has a honda engine though😅
That’s a china diesel

Aight boys. Big tractors are over. We all know it. That thing can run all night.... one row at a time. Just need 33 of them.
if you could get a cheap satnav system for them it actually would be a great option! many smaller units would be easier to slowly scale and a breakdown is a much smaller problem.
Dude is Croc'd and ready to rock 🤘🏻
He brought the party
This just changed the plowing job.what a great idea for a small farm
1 inch from tipping over haha
its pretty amazing how well it pulls that plow !
A key thing to keep in mind is that he is doing this in camo crocs in leasure mode. An absolute clinic
Even the Crocs are in 2WD.. INCREDIBLE!!
No need for 4WD with this machine!
That's Awesome!! We just did a plow day this past weekend! The narrow front end is so cool
It was one of the coolest tractors at the show
I worked at Wheel Horse in South Bend, In. for 18 years. It was sold to Toro so they had a big meeting with our union and told us they were going to close one of two factories us or one in Mississippi most likely the one in Mississippi. So I was watching the evening news and that’s how I found out they decided to close South Bend. I tell you I will never buy a Toro product for as long as I live!!!!!!
I’m just astounded at how much work that lil 2 stroke is puttin in right now 😆
150 years ago, a little tractor like this would have been a life changer.
By the time he finishes the last row, the first is ready to harvest.
It’s really just a big loop he makes only stops Fuel and food
And the sitting deadweight can help with the torque too!
Now that's cool. Many grand blessings everyone everywhere and always
Makes me wonder if a farmers equipment ever broke down and they pulled out the ole wheel horse to finish the job. I never wouldve thought one could do what i just seen right here! Farmers lol 👏👏👏
Good old Brinley hitch, got one on my Cub Cadet 128 used it for 30 years on a big garden
Wheel horse. I have two of them. A 702 and a commando 8. Both still have Kohler engines. Implements: cultivator, plow, mowing decks and a belly grader/scraper.
Nice collection thanks for checking out the channel
It gets the job done and that’s all that matters 👍🏻
I'll be purchasing one of these now.
Ok, i want one lol. I grew up with a Wheel Horse 1057 that Dad rebuilt in the early 90's. He's still using the darn thing 😂. Imagine mowing with that row crop front end. It would almost be like a zero turn 🤔. I think the deck hangs off the front of the tractor though, i cant remember.
I actually owned Pennsylvania panzer with a 10hp cast-iron brigs & Stratton with a Plymouth cut down rear end .
That's at the antique working farm equipment show. It's a fun time, if you enjoy old tractors. There are enormous steam powered tractors at that show. The Geneseo park board promotes it, but it's not held in Geneseo. That farm is located in Hillsdale, just down the road from the Sun Rock River Resort and the Tyson beef plant.
GENESEO!!! I totally enjoyed working an Eventing show up there!!! Awesome place, awesome people!! Breakfast at Sweet Arts Bakery every morning... my wife even rescued two kittens from there that were going to be euthanized. I still have one, the other passed away.😢
ive got a wheelhorse myself i love it. still finishing up some work on it

Still have wheelhorse first hydrostatic. Best mower ever. Almost 45 years old, still cutting grass.
That’s awesome
Camo Crocs?? Love the snap buckle on his suspenders - I’ll bet that doesn’t slip off!! I have driven past this place many times on my way to pick up I88 East in Joslin. One day I should stop and actually go to the show.
Ah the mighty WheelHorse! I mow my lawn with a restored 61 401 Suburban 😂😂
That’s awesome
I started doing lawncare with a wheel horse! Great mower! But mine loved to spread belts!😂😂😂
"When you're finished with that you need to plow the upper 40 by sunset!" 😂
I'm still always shocked at the little things that make me smile 😅
Wheel Horse made some awesome tractors and lawn mowers.
Always cool to see their stuff still getting used today
Grandfather had that bad boy. We could run stuff off the pulleys. lol. Forgot about that. Great upload.
NOBODY has ever enjoyed plowing a field more than this guy! 😁😁😁
I remember my buddies Dad had and used a Wheel Horse tractor. They were Awesome!!!! It could do anything. Wonder if they still make them?
Haters not welcome.what could be better for the small operator.I’ve been farming since I was a kid.more than sixty years now. We had tractor no bigger than that to pull the horse drawn haying equipment.it was a godsend because we went from hand scything and horses to making life easier and freeing up time and the tractor didn’t require feed and vet bills.it’s obvious that it’s not for large or commercial use but a smaller operator would find it helpful. So don’t belittle the innovator. it’s how technology changes.
Notice the weight shift , left buttcheek off the seat for stability and traction. Excellent video
He knew where he needed to sit to keep er moving
I would have liked to have seen more of the business end of this. 😊

It sure is!
Wheelhorse was the most awesome lawn tractors.

I'll take Case garden tractor anytime but gotta say that little Wheel Horse is doing an impressive job. I think it's a Wheel Horse.
How much it costs?

I want to get a closer look at it next year
I bet it'd be really good for cutting grass in that configuration
I've had a 1969, L-137 Lawn Ranger since I was about 5 years old. I'm almost 25 now, and my Dad and I have put a lot of work into it (transmission rebuild, specifically.) As a boy, I named it 'Trevor,' after Trevor the Traction Engine on Thomas and Friends. I like to call it my 'Baby Farmall.' It was a gift from my Pap, and I'll cherish it until I die.
