Luftwaffe German Air Force Air Transport Wing 62 located at Wunstorf AFB (central Germany) is the first German unit to receive the brand new huge cargo aircraft Airbus A400M Atlas. Commander Rico and his crew invite you to join an exciting air-to-air refueling mission aboard his shiny new heavy transport. As a very special feature the airclips team also managed not only to bring more than 20 cameras aboard the Airbus, but also fitted a handfull of cams to the Panavia Tornado fighter jet flight deck of the aircraft being refueld. The fuel receiving Tornados originated from Büchel AFB located in the southwest of Germany. Enjoy a breathtaking experience to watch!
For all filming conducted in security restricted and/ or safety relevant areas, all required approvals are obtained well before our on-site work starts.
At AirClips.com it’s all about YOU! Thank you for being with us and for your loyalty. It’d great to have you on board! Now fasten your seat belts, please…

Professional is expected but with a smile on top makes it's that little extra that makes it so fun and rewarding to watch. The filming and editing is top notch. Gotta love Luftwaffe, the A400M and AirClips. Kudos, job well done.

  • Apart from observing a perfect technical phase in flight and refueling, the perfect CRM ( Cockpit Resources Management ) carried out by the pilot in command can be observed. Always encouraging the co-pilot and above all, asking for things with a "please"....excellent flight.

    • I used to sit back in my boat and watch taking off from any military base there always on time, especially in the United States I live by MacDill Air Force Base Central Command and the where are refuelers landing and taking off and how big they are and I think they're C35 Hercules And those are jet engines not prop jobs but we see a lot of C-130 props coming and going beautiful aircraft and big it just wonder how they fly.

The efforts that your team puts into capturing top-quality camera angles, clearly and with precision, I find, far exceed the majority of other channels that I have ever seen. The cooperation and display of professionalism from the crews that you highlight, make these videos both educational and entertaining! I admire the A400M, what a machine, and you have brought me along for an unforgettable flight, from the comfort of my man-cave! Thanks for investing your time, energy, resources, and expertise and sharing the result with me! God bless you and your team and the flight crews who share their passions, for my informative enjoyment! That 2h12min just flew by! . OUTSTANDING . . I am not a pilot nor in the army. • As a former aircraft tech, (USAF - long ago), I find it quite interesting to hear the pre-flight briefing, not only delivered in English, but altitude, airspeed and distances being mentioned in feet, knots and miles. But, I do understand that this is for the benefit of the viewers. Those living in countries that have bought into the metric system and have trouble with fractional dimensions are loath to anything expressed in inches, feet or Fahrenheit, etc. The USA is having a difficult time making the transition and I doubt that, in my lifetime, it will eventually give in to the metric system altogether. Just like the old analog instruments, where tapping on the gauges was customary in order to 'improve' the reading. To tell the truth, I don't like (detest really!) the look of digital instruments but, again, I am a product of another time in aviation.

I think the tech specialist was a bit nervous with the camera, made the PIC smile. 46:58, "coffee is good to go for the mission... black." @the80386@the803862 жыл бұрын
    • That is my question exactly! Anyone know? I could hazard a guess that for a big slow plane not flying in a restricted area sticking to English, the international flight language, would be a safety issue. Should there ever be need to begin communicating with ground control, especially in an emergency situation, NOT changing languages would be a huge bonus regarding consistency whereby eliminating language mistakes-misunderstandings, under pressure.

    • @@MrSchwabentier thanks 😊

      @hair2050@hair20502 жыл бұрын
    • @@hair2050 Aviation language is always English, while it's allowed to speak local language in VFR ops, you have to stick to English for IFR. So basically as soon as you want to fly above 5000ft or to another country you'll have to switch to English. This restricts local language to mostly low-level VFR traffic and as soon as you are fast, high or commercial you'll have to speak English anyway, so why bother learning all the procedures twice for English and German when you can just operate in English ICAO-wide in civil and NATO-wide in military? I'm a trainee pilot in the Luftwaffe and English skills requirements date back to when I applied, they explicitly asked for good spoken English and parts of the interview were English while 100% of the pilot testing was in English. Yes I like to make long sentences and yes I'm sorry. Greetings o7
