This channel is dedicated to hunting at night with Night Vision and Thermal.
Feral hogs do millions of dollars in damage a year. Farmers and ranchers need all the help they can get. In Texas, we have the ability to hog hunt at whatever means necessary to help control the population. Hog hunting, coyote hunting, and other predator hunting is what we spend a majority of our time on. The footage you see is from out actual footage from the hunters perspective. Sit back and watch us hunt some wild boar.

    • Maybe not so far fetched an idea - maybe they could do that, render the results and make renewable diesel from the fats ? When I was a kid growing up in SE Idaho we had diseased jack rabbit infestations - you could see entire fields move like a wave... just after I moved to a city about 40 miles away, they had a huge round up that was coordinated - they set miles of snow fence (wooden slats with wire runs perpendicular to them) so as to create a huge funnel... dug a big ditch and on a concerted gathering - drove them all down that funnel and into the pit where they had some gas to kill them - I think it was gasoline engine exhaust or diesel. Not sure if they incinerated them or just buried the dead. 10's of thousands in one action. They ran in cycles like that - they'd eat underneath hay stacks and spoil it so the cattle etc wouldn't eat it. Huge $$ losses.

    • An 8' steel Lance would be ideal, stabbed into throat or through the mouth into the brain. Shooting is wasting money. Back in 1400's the 'knights' had extra long swords with two tusks about 6" back from the tip used for killing wild boar. The sword was almost 6' tall and the blade was 5" of that. Only the tip & tusks were sharpened, and the tusks stopped the boar from getting too close. It was common for a knight or squire to be run-over by a charging boar, often they were trampled to death before the pig was killed. Even with crossbows and bows, killing boar was dangerous

  • Seeing the opening shots of this story makes me think of the stories of the Old West, about herds of buffalo stretching as far as the eye could see. The only difference being ofc is that THIS herd is a plague similar to locusts, whereas buffalo were seen as a food/materials source (no matter what anyone might think about the fate of the buffalo). Unfortunately, it's not as easy to wipe out this herd as it was with the buffalo

  • With such a target-rich environment, you need several 40-rd. mags taped back to back and just throw as much lead downrange as possible in the shortest amount of time available! Aimed shots at running targets at that range is strictly by guess and by golly! The more rounds you can pitch at them the better your odds.

    • That's why there are so many scared hawgs making fools of loose fingered hunters. Less than 2 shots a kill makes one useful, they're only pigs and the run straight

    • @@johnmead8437 Personally, I wouldn't be too concerned how many rounds it takes.... all I want to do is eliminate the sorry varmints! Two shots or ten, as long as they're dead..... job accomplished.

  • Just a strategic idea (may not be realistic): If you're from South facing North (say for example) towards the treeline for your shooting, it might have been good to set up some remote control black powder explosives (small -- like M-80 size) in the treeline. Then you could explode them before you begin shooting and drive the hogs to the South towards you so they would run right into your shooting range. Small black powder charges with e-matches and 9-volt batteries could work. Just 5 or 10 of them on a simple radio transmitter so the explosion drives the hogs your way.
