That crowd was completely stunned, just there reaction was so quiet, like they just couldn't believe what had just happened. About as stunned a crowd as I've ever seen in sports.

And after they lost, everyone went home and didn't destroy the city. Take note Vancouver

History repeats itself last night a decade later

The Leafs put up a good fight and have a good team this year. The Bruins showed guts and heart to comeback like that. So proud to be a Bruins fan.

No problem. Teams can't get to the top of the mountain until you fall to the bottom sometimes. Hats off to what was an epic series and coming from a proud Bruins fan I want to thank you and your fans for inspiring your team to push mine to the brink! It's just what my B's needed to give them a wake up call and to catapult them back to the Finals. Kudos to you and your team. They gave my B's all they could ask for and more.

I love the Leafs, and the last 10 minutes of this game and overtime was just heartbreaking and horrendous. Even for the Leafs....I was and still am in complete shock this happened last year.....A hockey game that I will never ever forget.

I'm a Habs fan so I don't care very much for either the Leafs or the Bruins, but boy am I glad I watched this game from start to finish! And Toronto, don't worry, you always have the hockey hall of fame close so that you can see the cup once in a while :)

One of the best games I've ever watched...knowing people left the stadium in the third period makes me sick. Toronto put up a great series, and have a great young team. Your fans are much more classy than some of the others *cough* Canucks *cough*.

As a Boston diehard and hearing how Toronto, the biggest and richest hockey market, it does make me happy to see them lose in this fashion and to know that they will not be a threat now having their number. Hopefully this the the emotional catapult needed to bring back the Cup. Go B's Go. Boston Strong.

Thanks, I am proud. They came a long way, fell short yes but they still made the journey and for that I am proud. Yes that is a mistake they made but I'm sure they know that way more than the fans do. It was on their faces last night, they know what they lost and yes they will not forget this and will become stronger by it. Kessel, I have nothing but respect for. Him and Reimer. He did amazing even though the defense really left it all to him.

I really hope Toronto wins soon. I root for my Briuns and if they get eliminated I like to root for teams that haven't won in a long time or have never won before. Everybody,( I don't care if it's in Canada or here in the US), they all deserve a cup and they'll get it eventually. This is one of the best teams I've ever seen in Toronto.

I am a Blues fan but I just saw CBC report on fan reaction outside for this game..OMG.. I dont know how this happened but I just started having tears in my eyes for them... And I like Boston! So was even more surprising but we all are hockey fans an we ALL know how that feels :( Keep your heads high leafs fans; your team is REALLY getting there and what a playoff they had!

This was shortly after the marathon bombing in Boston. Boston Strong became the mantra and I remember Toronto putting up "Toronto Stronger" signs for the playoffs. Good to see Karma beat them down.

Thanks. Yes Phaneuf made mistakes this year, they all did but they'll learn. I can tell you one thing. I watched the post-game vids and no Leaf player is blaming anyone but themselves for this. They aren't taking this lightly and that's a good sign. This is why I'm still proud of them. They know they made a mistake and have realized it and will come back stronger. No delusion on my part, not saying they are going to win soon but with some hard work and determination, one day I feel they will.

On that note though I still say as long as the Bruins keep this core in tact they are going to be a very tough team to knock out for years to come. When they have all their pieces and are at full strength and are firing on all cylinders they can be very hard to knock out as your squad and diehard fans found out the hard way tonight. Can never underestimate the heart of a champion when it's still beating. Got to play a full 60. Bruins are very lucky they were able to only play a solid final 10..

I wish your team luck against it's next opponent (and to the Leafs fans that read this I am not switching sides just not being a sore loser, still love my Leafs, always will and their time will come soon, I can feel it) as I do to all teams that made it to round 2. It was earned not given so kudos for that. One day my Leafs will earn their place again. They just have to try & they will.

Also, I respect the fact that you guys won, there's no need to attack leafs fans over it though. all 3 games bruins played against the rangers were close. Bruins won on 3-1 and the other 2 were lost in ot and a shoot out. they are pretty evenly matched. I see another 7 game series!!

Oh and I also wanted to add you should be damn proud of your team. They took a veteran, battle tested and championship core Bruins team to the very brink. Leafs mistake was looking to the next round the minute they went up 4-1 late in the 3rd. Can't let up on guys like Bergy, Big Z, Lucic, Horton, Krejci, when they still have a pulse. You are right though, they will learn from that. Kessel showed he isn't scared of that Bruins mystique anymore and that will go a long way for him.
