Something about Miles's mother in Earth 42 is different. She almost seems like a much more passive person. Almost like the death of her husband just made her give up on managing Miles and allowed Aaron to take control of his life.

Yeah pretty much and she didn’t know what original Miles was talking about when he told her that he’s spider man. Meaning that Spider man didn’t exist in earth 42. There’s always a dimension where a certain person or thing doesn’t exist.
she works a lot but she’s still there for him, uncle aaron just stepped up into the male role model in his life. do you actually think rio would do that? she’s the only parent miles has left, she wouldn’t be emotional unbelievably for her son like that. she’s just genuinely confused on what he’s referring to that’s all.
Makes sense. Working as a nurse is a very demanding job, both physically and possibly mentally tiring. With her husband gone, she must have pushed herself more to work in order to provide for her family alone. And also work could have been her coping mechanism, too. Either way it seems natural that after the death of her husband, Aaron gained more influence over Miles, and she became more passive with bring up Miles.
God the buildup in this scene is absolutely beautiful. From Rio’s subtle confusion, the design of Miles’s room, the camera work with the different universes hiding the room ever so slightly, even the music. Everything hinting something is wrong from the very beginning
Also camera tilt is always the perfect way to show something is unsettling/off. They nailed it in this one

@@cdangelo1843 I don't think he's wrong about the whole "two cakes" thing: he's currently trapped with his "second cake", aka Kilometers Immorales, in another universe. In the context of the multiverse, there are theoretically limitless cakes to be enjoyed! We can't know for sure what the final word will be on the Two Cakes Question, whether its possible but demands costs greater than Miles is willing to bear, whether its possible so long as both "cakes" get something out of it and cooperate, etc. Very excited to see what the Spiderverse team makes out of this question in the final film

But at the same time, the story seems to leave lots of room to question both the moral and factual basis of Miguel's stance on the Spiderverse and towards Miles' desire to save his father. Miguel's belief that Miles Can't Have Both Cakes is still an unproven one until we see Miles either succeed or fail to "Do Both" like Miles argues he can in the film. That said, I also disagree that the Two Cakes Question is only about saving his dad vs. saving the Spiderverse. It could also be about Uncle Aaron Living vs. Miles' Dad Living, aka the dichotomy between the father figure Miles lost vs. the one his Earth-42 self did. It could be about Wanting to Be Spiderman vs. Wanting a Life Outside Being Spiderman, the dichotomy common in most Peter Parker-centric Spiderman stories. The metaphor is compelling because it is layered and versatile.

I love the detail they go into for the clothes. Miles 1610 and 1048 (Insomniac) have a red and blue jacket, while Miles 42 and Aaron 1048 have purple jackets. If you're confused, I'm saying their clothes are signifying who they are. Red for Spider-Man, purple for Prowler

@@clank7298Even so, it'd be Miles versus himself and his uncle Aaron. 2v1 and also some emotional turbulence from having to basically fight his dead uncle would make it justifiable that he'd lose. It would've made the story feel like it's dragging on, imo.

I just found a crazy detail at 3:05-3:06. Gwen turns pink when Jeff parked his car. I think this is because she thought miles was going to be with him. Also means that if miles was with him than she was going to confess everything like her breaking her father’s canon event, why she joined the spider-society and confess her feelings for him by showing how him the photo she keeps of them and how much she missed and thought about him throughout a whole year and talked about him for four months. But hey it’s just a theory.
Think that was her plan but she had no idea he was gonna be stuck in the wrong universe.

One of the coolest hidden details I didn’t notice until recently was that back on earth 1610 Miles wore a red hoodie with a big blue coat. Red and Blue. The colors of Spider-Man. But on Earth 42 the hoodie is purple and the coat is green. Purple and Green. The colors of the PROWLER! (Even though the Prowlers of 1610 and 42 showcase no green but you know what I mean) HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THIS FOR ALMOST A YEAR???
This is a clue because Gwen uses her spider sense to sense Miles whenever he's in danger, and I just figured out something right now that earth 42 Miles never got bit by the radioactive spider, because earth 42 Miles was never meant to be spider man in this dimension, he's the Prowler. That's why the go home machine getting send him back to his dimension, earth 1610 he's on earth, 42 where Miles G Morales is.
I just assumed the go home machine just scanned the spider DNA inside miles and sent him to where the spider was from...

Why did the go home machine send him to Earth-42 instead of Earth-1610. His spider is from Earth-42 yes and that spider was about to bite Miles of that universe so Miles isn't an anomaly. Also the spider was glitching right because it was in Earth-1610 and it had camouflage right so that's where those powers came from possibly due to being in wrong verse. But since he had apparently more Earth-42 DNA then Earth-1610 DNA he got sent to 42 but if he had more Earth-42 DNA to where the go-home-machine thinks he is from Earth-42, then why is he glitching in Earth-42 since his DNA signature should be accustomed to being from Earth-42 moreso then his home world Earth-1610.
I'm pretty sure it's because the machine that sent him to earth 42 only detects the DNA from the spider, not the spiderman. Also, I think all things that aren't local to a dimension glitch. This would explain why the buildings coming through the collider in the first movie were glitching.
The Go-Home Machine detected he DNA from the spider, not Miles which is why he was sent to Earth 42. And he was glitching because he himself wasn't from Earth 42, he's from Earth 1610. And as we've seen throughout both movies, without those watches, or that bracelet he had, when a being from a different dimension is in a dimension that isn't its own, it glitches. I think that's because it's that universe trying to get rid of the thing that doesn't belong

The machine works based off of his DNA, not his dimension of origin. Usually those two things are one in the same, but in this case it's DNA has been mutated buy a spider from dimension 42 instead of dimension 1610. Therefore, he has dimension 42 DNA

The build up in this is just 🤌 (I love how it’s like Miles gets knocked out and then just happy upbeat music like nothing happened 😂)

Because he attempted to use the Go Home Machine at the Spider Society to get back home, but because it detected DNA from the spider that bit him, it sent him to the universe the spider came from (Earth-42) instead of his own universe (Earth-1610).

Miles the main character, is from Earth-1610. The spider that bit him comes from Earth-42, it was brought over to Earth-1610 by Doc Ock and the Spot. Earth-42 Miles has not been bitten by any spider
