  • Her having a "normal amount of rage" is to be expected. Bruce Banner witnessed his abusive father beating his mother to death when he was a little kid. The Hulk was essentially born in that moment. The Hulk is that child, needing to be "The Strongest One There Is" so that no one can hurt him or the people he loves again. That's part of why the Hulk won't come out after Thanos no-sells him: if he can't protect his friends, what use is The Hulk? He was ashamed. Bruce Banner had a lot of trouble integrating The Hulk and Banner because he had a nascent Multiple Personality Disorder issue going on, which the gamma mutation essentially externalized. Jennifer had a much better childhood, no "decade of unaddressed trauma," and thus a much narrower gap between She-Hulk and Jennifer. She-Hulk is basically what Jennifer represses, same as Hulk is what Banner represses, but she represses a desire to be free to act and express herself without fear of reprisal, and he represses pain and guilt over powerlessness and a metric ass-load of bottled-up anger. So, yeah, just a "normal amount of rage".

She also seems to initially work for a firm that treats her like she doesn’t know what sh’e doing and even try to do her closing arguments instead of her Her small frame, her sarcasm, and her seemingly enjoying going to bars, it’s not hard ti imagine that she would have had many negative interaction with some of those possibly being initiated by her

    • Oh man,you explained the reason behind why The Hulk was not coming in Infinity War. Yes, Bruce Banner also has split personality disorder,(Moonknight isn't the only one) that reason Hulk couldn't protect himself aka Bruce and Thor from Thanos truly justified why he didn't showed up during Infinity War and I think this reason will trigger Hulk's rage in World War Hulk, as the Hulk we are seeing is Bruce with Hulk's body and when Hulk will take control of it, he'll remember that he couldn't protect his friend Thor from Thanos then he'll try to find Thanos to beat him but he is already dead which will make him full of rage and story of World War Hulk start.

  • I think the thing about the Jen vs Bruce comparison is that Bruce has control and intentionally holds back but Jen either winds up or hits and attacks harder with more force and without holding back hence why she appears stronger. Example, Bruce just punch the ground but Jen does a jump and a harder drop punch on the ground Bruce did a casual toss and Jen pulls back and throws a bit harder with one arm which then Bruce throws with max force. In the jump, bruce landed much softer than Jen because he didnt put more force in his jump or brace his landing whilst Jen drops and bends her knee further and landed with a harder impact so she might have added more force than necessary. I think Hulk held back and what annoys him isnt just because she more casual and stronger but because she not taking it as seriously and isnt controlling herself or having to struggle.

    • for real, she has to know about some hulk rampages throughout cities like in the incredible hulk, in civil war, and even bits of it in avengers, iron man could have thrown a rock further than what she did, giant man is even more impressive, i still kind of wish they just have one scene where he loses it a bit, it could be them sparing and he hits her a bit too hard or he does one of those iconic hulk roars, just something to 1, get it through to her that she is NOT the HULK, and two, to also show that even though bruce learned control he still struggles every day with his issues, because issues like that dont go away

  • About that section on Jen's anger: A large amount of people are confusing her speech on anger management to be about being better at it than Bruce, The way I understand it is that, Bruce says, "we have to make sure(of) your ability...to regulate your emotions" to which Jen says, "Here's the thing Bruce, I'm great at controlling me anger". To me that's case closed and the rest of the sentence is just a couple of things she goes through daily and shows restraint on her anger. Yes Bruce has heavier trauma, but that's exactly why he made his Hulk Training Program, for himself, a broken man with much rage, Jen does not need the program because she is mentally healthy and regulates rage well in her day to day.

  • What I notice and what I see throughout this whole series so far is that it’s trying to almost represent reality, for example, the scene where Jen is showing her strength, the difference there is that Bruce doesn’t want to show off or do really well, he just wants to teach her and train her so she doesn’t end up like him, Jen then interpreted that as him ‘telling her what to do’ and that she doesn’t ‘need to be told how to handle herself’, which just shows imo the natural and almost conditioned inability for most people to even take on board or care about any level of advice, and they would rather put it down to something negative than see it as positive, and use it to help or better themselves.

I remember in the trailer showing how Jen was doing yoga, unless that scene is her starting yoga after, I do think only reason why she was doing better than Bruce is because Jen has some experience already and is just showing off. • The back and forth between Jen and Bruce is what i expect close cousins to say to each other in midst of heart-to-heart. However, those scenes definitely go deeper than woman vs man or hulk vs she-hulk. No where does it say/imply Jen believes she’s a *better hulk*. Jen is explaining to Bruce she doesn’t need his anger management lesson because she’s already able to control her emotions on a daily basis (hence the reference of cat-calling, incompetent men, and she’s a dang lawyer). At this time, she’s been in Mexico training by Bruce’s standards reluctantly. She has overcame Bruce’s obstacles quicker than he did because she’s in control better than he was at the time of his learning stage. Her frustration comes from the fact that she wants to go home and be a lawyer not a super hero. I agree with some of these comments about you putting your personal beliefs into this video. • Normally I absolutely love your comments on the MCU, but I think you miss the mark a bit concerning the strong women parts. Especially black widow: she wasn't "just a strong woman who got on with it", she was a girl who has survived tremendous amounts of trauma, abuse, gaslighting and grooming. She survived all of that and she didn't get a chance to voice that in the MCU. Yelena is the first to bite back and tell their 'father' that they haven't survived an unwanted hysterectomy to be told that "it's probably their time of the month." Black widow was a survivor who chose to use her experience for good. She didn't just get on with it because she was a strong woman, she tried to survive like any other victim of abuse and her story got silenced in the MCU by her just having the role of "sexy unexpectedly powerful Russian."

    @RDSimonse@RDSimonse Жыл бұрын

    • @@matthewwilliams1266 Always interesting to discuss: I'd say that her and Tony's trauma isn't comparable. Yeah, Tony had to go through major traumatizing events, but Natasha was constantly groomed into becoming an assassin since she was a child. And when asked about the Red Room in films before Black Widow her story was subsided by keeping any details of her traumatizing past vague. The fact that the film Black Widow got back on that doesn't fix the silencing that happened before. And furthermore: it's sad that she had to die in the MCU in order for her to get her own story told. I'm not saying that it wasn't the right move to kill her off, but it is a weird way to treat a character.

As a woman, when you encounter another woman in the restroom at a club or a bar, and she looks like she got the shit kicked out of her, your first thought typically is, "OH, shit, her date obviously went very, VERY badly, this poor girl." Now, for dorks like me who come from a family full of healthcare workers, it's different, because I would be asking more questions, pulling out the tiny first aid kit in my bag, taking photos of her wounds to AirDrop to her, insisting she go to the hospital, etc. But your average dame? They'd be doing exactly as these ladies did in this scene: attempting to put this gal back together, pumping her up, and making sure she had a safe way to get home. Home girl saying, "Whoever did this to you does NOT care about you," was not her being judgey; that was her concise way of covering the basics of dealing with an (alleged) abuse victim.

  • Here's a key point I think you're missing. Jen is saying that because she's always had to control her anger, she is more prepared for being a Hulk than Bruce was when he started his journey. The fact that she still acknowledges that Bruce has had a lot of awful shit happen to him since becoming a Hulk isn't a contradiction. The entire concept of the dichotomy between Jen and Bruce in the comics is that for Bruce, the Hulk is a curse, but for Jen, the Hulk is a blessing. And obviously, this is without the fact that Jen doesn't even want to stay transformed at this point. Jen has the luxury of being able to control when she changes regardless of her emotional state, so she doesn't have to worry about any accidents. Even if the MCU goes the route of saying that Bruce had a lot of childhood trauma, that kind of thing doesn't always help you to control your anger, but simply redirect it. Meanwhile, if you aren't ever safe from ridicule or the threat of violence anywhere you go simply because of your gender, where can you truly let it loose?

We saw they had a scam they were doing in Shang-Chi. Other people’s comments make it sound like this was something he had just been doing and just got caught this time. There is always discussion about the MCU timeline and with your comment about Shang-Chi in the opening logo, it makes me think that episode is happening right before the Shang-Chi movie. We know Wong will show up later in the next few episodes. So maybe this is what happens to Wong before “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”. This could be Abomination’s arc and Wong will be mor5e involved in Abomination’s release.

  • The argument with the catcalling is not, that Bruce had it worse, but men are (mostly) able to express anger without then being laught at, or being asked, if they are on their period,... Bruce didn't have to manage his anger until he also was the Hulk. Women (mostly) have to start in young teenage years to not show anger or they will be called emotional, unprofessional, "can't take a joke",... It's not, that she said Bruce has had a hard life. She only said she is able to control her anger and that she doesn't want to experience the same traumatic things as Bruce does. It's 2 different arguments she makes, not one

Life is a game of chance if you play you either get something bad or something good if you don't then you get nothing, just keep playing until you have nothing, don't try to play a different one because sometimes going along with it is the best way.

  • I feel like you completely ignored Jen's response to Bruce's question about why she doesn't need him to teach her about anger management. They are different people. Bruce had to deal with an alter along with his anger management problems. That was his main problem with the Hulk. Plus if you assume the trauma Jen mentions implies that Bruce's father being an abuser is true that's even more evidence to Jen being the normal one. Jen doesn't have an alter. She just gets angry but she's very good at controlling said anger because as she said she had to do it all the time. Bruce only seriously took anger management training after he became the Hulk.
