MalaMala Safari Moments: Episode 112.
A rather amusing sighting as we watch the Island female and her cub compete over an impala kill.
...
From MalaMala Game Reserve to wherever you are in the world, we'll bring you moments from our daily safaris in one of Africa's most iconic private game reserves. This is essentially a continuation of our 'Rangers in Isolation' series which was filmed during the national Lockdown.
That was the FASTEST 7 minutes of KZhead video that I've ever seen. Talk about intense action and suspense! I think its fair to say that the Mother is not only tolerating, but teaching her sub-adult cub to be persistently diligent about territorial behavior, and survival. "Survival of the fittest," is definitely THE Ideology of Leopards and The Wild Kingdom. 🐆🐾
of course, animal beheaviour they know it we would never know it but mother is always mother, baby is always a baby
The adult cat's natural instinct to protect her food, but her claws are retracted when 'smacking' the cub out of a mother's instinct not to harm her baby. Amazing sighting ❤️
Awesome how mom is teaching her baby the art of the steal and getting it's food. She made the cub work for it and practice working for it's meal. She will continue to provide but at the same time, showing her baby how to work for it's food and it won't just be laid out in front of her to eat anymore. What a beautiful steal too and you could tell the mom was just waiting for it to happen. All the times she was growling it was a mad growl it is just a "you aren't going to get it easy." What a great mom and she is giving her baby confidence for the future when it is out on it's own at some point. What a fantastic sighting and I enjoyed watching it a few times now. Absolutely Gorgeous animals! They are definitely 2 of my favorites on your safaris and I always watch any videos with them in it. For awhile you only had videos of the island female without her cub and I was worried about it. But the last one I watched before this one of the 2 was when she contacted called her baby and it came running over and they somewhat played and the cub laid right on top of her mom. Beautiful relationship between them and fabulous videoing of them. Thanks for bringing this to us.
*Purely Outstanding sighting*❤️Highly attractive & amusing (natural behaviours)🙌 both cheeky characters of the bush😂Always a delight to see these two💞utterly divine. One day, her cub will learn to change its spots🤞but no doubt with the same feisty qualities as the mom💜Thank you so much, *𝓜𝓪𝓵𝓪𝓜𝓪𝓵𝓪*🥰Take care
Many many thanks Carolena ❤️

What finesse and balance on that branch . Stunning!!
I think this has to be one of my favourite leopard sightings to date !! Epic work x
Love this sighting! The cub stealing the carcass literally made me laugh out loud. Great video.
That. Was. Incredible!! What a little spitfire is that cubbie……and she was patient and got her way in the end. Her mama taught her well.
A very different view of Leopard mother teenage cub relationship. Great capture!!
Great to see the cub so big and healthy. Seems like just yesterday he was a tiny little fluffer and we would all worry when mom was trying to find him. 😺
Oh wow, the little cub has the Island females feisty and amazing spirit. Absolutely awesome sighting, thanks so much guys.
We agree!
Very much so. What an awesome glimpse into their morning. ❤️
@@kimberlylopez9402 So agree Kimberly, the Island female and her gorgeous little cub are fast becoming my favourites at MalaMala.
Clear message from the mom: freeloading time is (nearly) over! Soon you'll have to catch your own dinner..🤣🤣
Think that leopard already catches small preys .
@@fillfinish7302 I like your name, you did the right thing to jump ship 🤣🤣
I love leopard.. pretty amazing how they climb in the trees, the balancing is just amazing..
What a wonderful sighting! Leopard gymnastics from the wild! Fabulous job guys!! 💕
What a great clip of these beautiful animals. Mom was pretty much ready to let it go - and cubbie got a nice meal at the end. Wonderful sighting.
This is so cute, endearing and entertaining! Mum-strong, capable and loyal is not raising a daughter to be the same! Love them both! Thank you so much MalaMala!
Incredible sighting! What a treat, thank you for sharing
Leopard nr one.
This is certainly Ingwe at its Supreme Best, both Mother & Cub... Extraordinary Footage, I love it!
You call it INGWE? What Language dialect is that? 9Just curious)
@@makanakamaenzanise3602 INGWE is the Zulu word for Leopard...I like to call it Ingwe, it resonates with me.
@@paulettelabuschagne8192 Thanks, I didn't know that Zulus call it INGWE too, because that is a SHONA word (Zimbabwe), to my knowledge. So, I was wondering if it also called INGWE far North of Africa (Apologies for guessing your location of course)
I believe that INGWE is used in several South African languages such as Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele, siSwati & Venda. I think in Swahili they use CHUI
@@paulettelabuschagne8192 INGWE is in East Africa too. Turns out it could be predominant among the Bantu. Yes, CHUI in Swahili. And DUMA is Swahili for the cheetah.
Fantastic capture! I loved the determination of the cub. Never gave up and in the end she got her meal. Thank you MalaMala, as always, another superb video with great content. Cheers 👏🔥✨❤️❤️❤️
Amazing video of an incredible interaction. Thank you 🙏
Wow! Fantastic interaction and video! Wish we had been there for that sighting. Thanks for sharing.
Two beautiful 🐆and this video was perfect. The STEAL was not one at all. I think that the Mother leopard was all but done with carcass when it was TAKEN by her hungry (or greedy) offspring.
Dit was baie goeie foto grafie, ek is baie dankbaar, dat julle dit met ons deel,
Mum wasn't going to make it easy for her to steal the kill. Good teachable moment. Thanks Rangers.
Californian myself...Damn Newsom stays in office. Shucks!
@@cooper482011 There is always Nov 2022 to try again to get a new person.
All I could do is shake my head and smile
An awesome sighting!!! Thank you so much for bringing it to us!
absolutely incredible footage, MalaMala.......brilliant to see ❤👍🏻
Pure Gems - My favorite superstars. Big star she has your courage and Little Star this is how your mom knows you are getting strong enough to be on your own soon lol. Island Female has done an Excellent job with her girl. So much ❤️for them. Thanks Guys as Always
Welp it’s safe to say, she has to find her own apt after this 😂
Island female is a legend, put aside her famous father, she alone engaged at least two fights which falls from very high tree and not get hurt at all
Leopards are the most amazing Wildlife 🔥. Love all their Sightings
That was such a special sighting. What an agile cub....cunning and persistent....attributes that will hopefully give this cub a good chance of surviving to independent adulthood ❤🌹
I admire Leopard's wealth of skills (just added multitasking to the list) & confidence. They're amusing...I'm used to them teasing other animals but this is new & adorable.
Stunning footage as usual MalaMala 👏
This is an amazing video thanks for sharing 👍
Always so special Mala Mala!
Excellent video! Thank you! 😉🇺🇸
One of the best capture.
So cool to see Island Female and cub doing so well...
Tina CA Thank you for your sharing video 👍👍👍👍👍😄😄😄😄😄
Just another awesome animal clip from MalaMala! 😎👌
Wow. Must be one in a million siting. Superb to watch
Momma's like " holy crap child, it's bad enough I gotta deal with this with hyenas and other cats but my own kid? Come on now." 😂🤣🤣
That's the fastest shop lifter ever.
Never give up !!!! : )) Thanks for sharing!
Leopard cub before snatching the food: "Mom, you're exaggerating. Let me eat a little!"
"Mom said, 'If you snatch this food out of this tree, I'm gonna slap the snot out of you!'" I know that's right, lol!!!🤣🤣😂
Yeah!! he did it 🙌🙌, great lesson mom, he has to learn to fight to survive.
I think it's 'she' cub. They do not do that to male cubs.
@@makanakamaenzanise3602 why ?
@@Zain948 Leopards are solitary hunters. Every time you see them two or three it's a mother and it's cubs. The mother can nurture the male cubs until they are chased off her by male competitors for mating (as they will be just young adult males. The female cubs are chased by the mother from the moment they reach 'puberty' and start 'smelling sexy' like her, to fend off mating competition.
Her paws are full with this one.
Daughter was sneaky lol. Stole that when mom was cleaning herself lol.
Amazing story..in the end they talked to an agreement
The mother lowkey loved it
Motherly love
Q gracinha os dois 🤗🤗
Incredible The Cub Never Gave Up And Got His Prize
Amazing!!
Muito bom! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
You guys are getting better and better
Looks like a game or training for the cub
AMAZING SIGHTING...MOM COULD OF REALLY HURT HIM IF SHE WANTED TO.. THE ISLAND FEMALE WAS BASICALLY FINISHED WITH HER FEEDING, WHEN HE STOLE THE IMPALA....HE WAS @ BEST, CHEEKY AND PERSISTENT. BEAUTIFUL MOM & ADORABLE, BUT CHEEKY SON. BLESS THEM BOTH.

Your Video is very interesting, we are watching your Video, you do great job... 👍👍👍
Very nice video thank you 🙏
Great to watch the interaction!. Wondered if the cub was really hungry?.
lots of action, love this video if that’s his mother, there isn’t any love in that family
Strength 💯💯
Is that a sign of a cub being warned is grown up and needs to hunt for itself?
the small leopard got the spidermans skills
Esse bicho é muito lindo
The gloves are off, no more cuddling from mommy. Classic teenager :D
Já estava satisfeito.
Это конечно подросший детеныш, другому леопарду без боя не отдала бы.
It must be a female cub. That's what leopards do when their daughters reach puberty, as they do not want competition on mating. A male cub can continue to be nursed even long after a sister sibling has been chucked away.
Mast Kha Riya lada 😂😂😂😂
This is kind of a lesson. She is almost saying "If you wanna it, then take it from me". He'll need it going forward.
Awesome. It is part of the ritual for the cub to start gaining independence. In a few months, the mother will get in heat again and will push the cub away to obtain full independence.
Wow. How old is the cub? I'm guessing it's a female ... ?
"Teenagers".....the scourge of parents ...
Thats gratitude for you, brings the cub up and then steals her food lol
This cub is about to be kicked out!
Wow
Alternative title - Life Lessons
hahahahhaha, they can eat together.haha,i see he is still small. i dont know what he or he tellinhg to mother but saying"give me a part i wil eat too:: hhahahah ,nice
Who is father of this cub ?
Mother is saying to grown cub - For yrs I bought you food and you never once thanked me..
Whatever happened to motherly love?
❤️❤️❤️❤️
He stole it 😁😁😁😁
*she 😉
@@MalaMalaGameReserve two women always problem 🤣🤣
Di fronte al cibo anche l' amore della madre sparisce : il potere della gola !
The mom already had her fill otherwise the cub would have had no chance
❤
Bad mama
They eat super slow that's why their food always gets stolen leopard makes love to the food
Just fascinating, I think at the end she let him have it.
"If I could just get a leg???"""
Wauw
May be this could be the last free lunch the mother is serving to its cub, The cub has to earn it's food on its own!!! That's the message!!!!
Who caught the prey?
@@falanajerido875 though it is not shown in the video definitely it would be the mom leopard!!! because it eats first and then give it to the grown cub after so much growling!!! The growing is the indication that the cub is not welcome any more!!
Is this a lesson to junior on how to protect your kill ?
Not really, far worse than that. When a female leopard cub starts to smell 'maturity' that she will be fertile the mother will be very disappointed that she is nurturing competition on mates, home-grown.
I've never seen a leopard show an understanding of partitioning a kill. Hyenas know how to snap a leg off and run off with it, but leopards seem to think it's all or nothing. Poor cub could have taken the hanging leg for himself, but he'll have to wait for his tyrant mother to gorge herself first instead.
