You don’t have to like Coldplay, but this is a world class performer
Cobey C.B broken voice, trying to shorten high notes
I'd be honored if some Coldplay fans would take a quick listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of VIVA LA VIDA an SKY FULL OF STARS on my YT channel in tribute to the legendary songwriting of Chris Martin. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and peace.
No doubt
he is absolutely amazing!
Cobey C.B ok
“Our drummer Will sings this next bit but I’ll try.” *MURDERS* *IT*
Wow!! Are you native English speaker? I'm Brazilian, but I do love the language and learn by myself. I would NEVER get these words he said, even though I had tried so hard!!! He spoken toooooo fast ahahahah!!! I mean, I got him when he said the last bit, "it's really hard". Anyways, thanks for the transcription. Maybe you don't know, but that was very special and useful to me!! Thank you! And yes, although I'm not a Cold Play fan, I love this song!! Nice version on the guitar and Chris absolutely killed!! He is an awsome singer. Just by hearing his great voice when he talks, comes a guess he could sing well.
3pac son Thats what he means by murdering
3pac son murdering it is a good thing
its mean he killing it nailed it
3pac son murder it = do something perfectly
“Our drummer sings this bit but I’ll give it a go...” SINGS IT FLAWLESSLY pure talent.
did it better than the drummer imo
@@emoneygetsitin6292 full respect to him, but no, will sings it flawlessly
I dunno about flawless, but there was more raw passion in this performance haha
will (drummer) always does the choir part during shows, it sounds really good. this was good too, not better than will tho
Nah, he sang it pretty badly if you listen in isolation. But he confessed he can't do it properly, so it's fine.
his guitar strumming so pure clean 😮
When you have the "gift" it is flawless. God-given!
He look like a human version of Mark Zuckerberg.
wait what
Oh yes, you make sense. Mark zuckerberg looks like Chris Martin's alien version.😂❤ Thanks for pointing it out, I was wondering about something similar in their appearance. Anyway both are true legends.❤❤
Fvck yeah
thats the worst insult i ever heard

Chris's voice is so clean.
Very unlike Oasis!

Very unique tone to it indeed

The strum pattern he maintains to perfect rhythm is beautiful and difficult. If you don’t play you have no idea. And singing on top of it.

“If you don’t play you have no idea”💀🤡🤡🤡 you just can’t do it yourself it’s not difficult at all
@@Aleksandr68351 it really is though he palm mutes the guitar while maintaining that rhythm and he can’t emphasize strums unless he unmutes his palm, there are many factors in play to perform as well as he did.
He's so unbelievably fucking amazing I dont understand how anyone can be so effortlessly talented and humble and speak with such humility
Chris Martin is a true musician. How he sounds the same even in live and his guitar strumming is so good to listen.
Edit: he sounds even better
I agree with you both
@@bigdickandrew so true. The live sounds damn pure and majestic

Im more impressed that the drummer can sing that part
@@duncan3932 the drummer is a great singer, actually. If I'm not wrong, when he joined the band he was an amazing music artist and knew how to sing and how to play many instruments. Ironically, he didn't know how to play the drums
Such a pleasure to live in a time where Coldplay, and Chris Martin exists. My favorite band.
One of the best voices I've ever heard sheezus
You cant be serious, voice cracked multiple times.
@@marcknight9334 you gotta understand that many people get impressed very easily especially if they haven't listened to a lot of music or played/sung. Chris might not be the most skilled singer but has a great tone and a very memorable voice

when Chris said "very simple", he ended up creating the best version for this song
Absolutely!!! Chris saying "very simple" before he started, made me feel very sad at the end... If THIS is what he calls very simple, I wonder what comes out, when he creates something sophisticated... I think he's a great artist and great person!!!
@@Blueridge1961 it’s literal 4 cords with 1 optional power chord
@@gecko6616 Oh, you are an expert... ??? Well this might be the reason you are much more famous than C. Martin... If it is all so easy....
Simple means 1 instrument. Not a simple song. Just the arraignment is simple
@@Blueridge1961 You don't need to be famous to play the same four chords, palm muted for the entire song... I could do that when I was 15, and you could do it too after only a couple months playing guitar. Chris called the arrangement simple because it IS simple. It's easy to play. There's nothing wrong with that. Not every song needs to be a classical piece from Paganini or Liszt to be enjoyable to listen to. We can appreciate this performance, simple as it is, without pretending it's a virtuosic masterclass in instrumental technique.
This gotta be one of the best songs ever written
The smile when he crushed that performance made my day
Christ Martin has the sweetest vibe he’s like a kid
pure soul
I agree. I like how he asked 2 times if he wanted him to continue the song.

Again Howard is a legend because of how he speaks to musicians. Nothing but admiration, respect, and solid questions.

The sound engineer is Stern.
Just gotta gave Chris Martin talent, simples.
Masterpiece is a masterpiece, either by an acoustic guitar or by a full band. And Chris Martin is one of the best frontman in the world today.
💯 The current world tour is absolutely unmatched .
I love how curious Howard stern always is, of how an artist comes up with a song.
Chris’ face at the end. That’s how you can tell music is truly his passion.
Kinda reminds me of how a little kid smiles when they’ve just done something they’re super proud of
I highly doubted that this song would translate well into an acoustic guitar version. Boy, how insanely wrong I was, this is lovely...
battousai9795 can hear that message clearer as well. Much more respect for it now.
I always thought it would be amazing on guitar 😀 but i have that with almost all of Coldplay songs
his guitar playing is very good, he holds a superb rhythm. And it's not even his favourite instrument
Check out Garretth Evans, he does a sick Fingerstyle arrangement also
A guitar can make everything sexy
Thank you Howard stern for making him play the entire song
Benedict Cumberbatch will be perfect for a Chris Martin biopic.
Just imagine the band reaction when they first listen to this....

Long live the king!" One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing Roman Cavalry choirs are singing Be my mirror, my sword and shield My missionaries in a foreign field For some reason I can't explain Once you go there was never Never an honest word And that was when I ruled the world It was the wicked and wild wind Blew down the doors to let me in Shattered windows and the sound of drums People couldn't believe what I'd become Revolutionaries wait For my head on a silver plate Just a puppet on a lonely string Oh who would ever want to be king? He is a genius. Such creativity in writing those words. I have a little of the automatic writing ability that someone like Chris has to the extreme. Words constantly buzzing around in your head, you sit down with an instrument and sometimes they fall into place. He has the confidence to take his musings into the studio and turn them into masterpieces...or do something like this just off the cuff. Remarkable.
